In the report Butler stated:"He's brilliant, but he's a challenge....he's incredibly fast-paced. He's a whirlwind to keep up with, both on the set and in post... [Bay] took the production value up many, many notches. Just the backgrounds alone are huge. It's a combination of Apocalypse Now and Ben-Hur, in regards to fantastic backgrounds and the unbelievable sets we worked at around the world."
Aside from Mr. Butlers descriptions of the great detail the filming backdrops contain another interesting note was added to the end of the report. According to Reel Movies, there are over 60 robot characters in the movie. A substantial amount more than the projected 20 bots we reported here.

Why do you think it'll suck? The toyline will, cos they'll all be rushed through the design process but I think they spent long enough writing the script to make it good. After winning awards for the CGI they won't skimp on this one.

C'mon, in part 3 we have to 'suspend disbelief' long enough to accept that Megatron is actually Primes step brother and the reason for their conflict emerges from an energon dispute in deepest darkest seibertron because unicron ordered the death of all tf's for not turning over the location of the sacred matrix location. but unicron found it anyway and tricked prime into having the matrix installed to defeat megatron for killing the other members of the council, when in actuality megs was following the orders of unicron to steal spark fragments from the council to create the ultimate tf, lockdown...
or something like that, i think... i don't know where i heard that...
[edit- i'm such an a-hole]

More robots = More figures = More annoying repaints = EVEN MORE repaints = An even LONGER lasting toyline = Good-Bye Animated
Whose wanting to bet that most of these characters will just be generic people in the backround with no resemblance to the plot?

Mr. Autoboto wrote:...And more than half of these will be cannon fodder, nothing more (besides a reason to make toys, of course).
If this is true, hopefully those character that are killed off aren't ones that would have made for cool characters in future movies. With 'Swipe in this one, I had been hoping 'Streaker would be in TF3. I also thought Hound, Mirage, Ramjet, Thundercracker, Laserbeak, etc. would be cool to see on the big screen as well.

What?
The?
Hell?
Are you talking about?

Hopefully it ends up to be something like a major battle between the known characters, with an ending where two shiploads of other bots are flying into the frey as lead-in to part 3.

Go back and look at his posts. he has yet to say anything positive about this movie or the last one. I suspect a case of "Bay ruined my childhood" syndrome or It's-not-G1-itis. But that's just my professional medical opinion.

Prime did send a message that said to ALL Autobots that could hear him. Who knows how many that could have been.
And we KNOW Starscream went for reinforcements.
