We'd like to thank everyone for voting for their nominees for the fifth inductee into the Transformers Hall of Fame. The ballot has been stopped, the votes have been tallied, and we've got our results. Without further ado, Seibertron.com's selections are....

G1 Jazz with 10%....
Image

Beast Wars Dinobot with 11%....
Image

G1 Shockwave with 14% ....
Image

G1 Grimlock with 18%....
Image

and G1 Soundwave with 23%!

For now, all that is left to be done is to wait for other Transformers fan websites. Then we shall wait for Hasbro, who will then take all the fan website choices (including ours) and tally up the robot points. We will then be able to vote from the top five robot points receivers at Transformers.com to add one robot to the already elite group of bots - Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and Starscream!

Keep it at Seibertron.com - The Ultimate Transformers Resource!

G1 Unicron?

Gentlemen, please:

http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Multiversal_singularity

There is no G1 Unicron.

Only Unicron.

Especially after he consumes everything.

When was this poll? I didn't hear about it.
Also, it's ADO, not ADIEU. :-B

Glad to help, mate. So is the winner of this poll getting a Classics Universe figure, or something?

Not entirely, it gets inducted into the Hall of Fame. But from the fact that this is gauging the fan's interest in Transformers, I wouldn't doubt that it would also lead to that. Hopefully it does...

Hurm. I see. Well, if it means I'll have a chance to retire my smeggy customized Titanium Soundwave with custom waist/thighs, I'm all for it.

Again, I was hoping for Rumble to be in it, but Soundwave is close enough. Soundwave is awesome though, as not only does he have homies that go inside of him, he also has a toy that can actually play music, and annoyingly, I don't have >.< . Other than that, yeah, woot for Soundwave, yada yada yada. Speaking of which I found the most disturbing picture ever... there is a disturbance in the Force...

I'm not really sure why we're going through the motions of what will be a popularity contest, anyway... and Soundwave has enough of an (entirely undeserved*) fan base to ensure his victory.

The event should, instead, be treated a lot like the Baseball Hall of Fame, IMHO - not an outright popularity contest for anyone who happens to log onto Hasbro.com, but a group of specially selected voters from across the fandom. For example, say, 2-3 representatives from each major fansite, a couple of members of the OTFCC, some Hasbro officials, some notable writers, artists, and/or designers from the comics or TV series.

I also feel, pretty strongly, that an absolute minimum of one non-"Class of '84" character make the cut every single year... non-G1 would be even better..

* Seriously, he did nothing of value other than follow someone else's orders. He never took initiative. He didn't accomplish anything outstanding, or unusual, or even uncommon. He had an army of cool characters at his bidding, but that reflects more on THEM than on HIM. That's like saying the coolest character on the A-Team is the van (which, let's face it, it's a pretty sick van, but that's just about it).

Did nothing? emerald, you're forgetting his badass voice as well as his army of minions which he stores inside of him. His speech patterns and voice made him feel more (I know this will sound ironic) robot, unlike most of the other characters who spoke like humans and whatnot.

And how is that supposed to refute the claim that Soundwave didn't do much?

Seriously, G1 Soundwave is one of the most overrated characters of all time.

Commanding a subgroup is doing nothing? Overrated, maybe, but definitely memorable.

Ah man! Dinobot got 4th?! I was hoping he'd at least get 3rd. Where's the Beast Wars love?

Soundwave overrated? I don't see that. The iconic voice, the spy functions he and his minions carried out. Battles with Blaster - pretty cool character. Don't understand the disparaging comments. I knew he & Grimlock were solid for the top vote getters. It's a real shame Jetfire didn't even make the preliminary top 10.

I'm not as familiar with G2, armada, BW etc., but I agree there should've been a slot for at least one non-G1 character in all fairness. They should be inducting at least 3 figs per year. At this rate, it'll be 100 years before they get to the other continuities' characters!

A character should not be judged solely by their voice or gimmicks.

vectorA3 wrote:Battles with Blaster - pretty cool character.
And there were only, what, two fights between the two? Three fights, maybe? For being rivals, these two sure didn't face off one-on-one very often.

Beast Wars Dinobot got fourth place ('tis a shame, really, as he probably far more character development and personality than all the others to choose from in that list. :-( ).

i'm not going to sit here & defend SW --if you don't like him, you don't like him. I'm not judging him solely off his voice, but it is unique, very cool and memorable, next to Prime, Megs, & SS voices, probably the next most memorable. They really didn't give him any backstory in G1 --but that's not his fault, they didn't give many of the other decepticons any of that either.
I need to watch all of the BW, to know more about Dinobot. With the few episodes i saw, i don't remember much about him.

I'm not saying I don't like Soundwave (I do like him, actually). I just think that there are plenty other better choices who would deserve such an honor more than him.

Ya, #4 is great for him. Could've went either way with Grimlock, but I can't picture him not making a collective/fans top 10 list though.
