SG as a whole isn't what I'm into, but I don't really get the hate ...

Sure, its a different universe, but the fact that the sides are switched just seems a little boring to me, even if theres some wacky reasoning behind it; the end product is still Decepticons are righteous and Autobots are malignant (As a Decepticon, this is how I see it anyway ). I don't care about repaints though. Sure, they suck when you don't want identical moulds taking up precious shelf space, but atleast it draws in more money for new moulds (and offers variety since we probably wouldn't have gotten a decent Blurr or Wheeljack as soon as we did).
I really like this mould, and would gladly take a few of these for the sweeps (generations scourge being... scourge).
Although, Ratbat is pretty sick a use of this mould too... If I were to have just one, which would you guys recommend?

its a bit more interesting than just the factions being switched, its more about what would it take for a good character to become evil i think. its hardly deep though, but i appreciate that theres fiction without a real line of toys to sell, it feels almost like an honest venture to tell a neat story for once.

Ah, thats pretty cool, I dig that sorta idea. But I wish more of that existed in the more central stories being told, and not off on its own. I'd love to see more comics and shows where characters have identity crisis (sooooooorta like Starscream in prime... sorta).

they keep on rehashing the same characters and stories.
shattered glass is the same thing just OH NO THE AUTOBOTS ARE EVIL.
i want a new tf series with new characters and yes i mean NO MEGATRON, OPTIMUS PRIME, AND SO ON.
even new faction names would be nice too
seriously i wonder if someone at hasbro/ takara has brought up the idea of just a new start on transformers

Well Shattered Glass Optimus Prime is by far the least rehashed Optimus Prime in existence. All that remain the same are he looks like Optimus Prime and He leads the Autobots.
Everything else is pretty much not a rehash.

So you don't want Transformers it sounds like. Energon was given that 'new take' moniker. Scorponok started as leader and Megatron was dead.
Problem is, they want to sell products that are recognizable, so that they get kids and adults to buy these things for kids.
Beast Wars is pretty different. It's not Prime and Megatron... well not technically.

lol what do you mean i dont want transformers. "Transformers" is just a title which can be given to anything as long as it has something turning into something else.
just like how every gundam series is called gundam but the characters dont get reused or anything? like how gundam wing has different characters then earlier gundam shows

I get what you're saying and most collectors would be cool with it, but HASBRO is not willing to lose their flagship characters and replace with questionable unknowns. See Transformers, Star Wars, and G.I.Joe.
Every toy line includes new toys and characters, but also rehashes notable 'big guns', ie- Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Storm Shadow, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Anakin Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, to name a few.
You will notice that G1 Transformers in the US got canned once Headmasters came about right? No Optimus, no Megatron, and they canceled the season.
They balked on picking up and even allowing release of the Japanese g1 series Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory-- and they are also lacking in the flagship known characters.
And 'Transformers' is copyrighted to HASBRO and they won't call just anything Transformers, well, they do call those stupid crossovers Transformers, but in their minds the toys are TFs, so anyway.
Your opinion is awesome, it just seems that HASBRO feels like they've tried and failed your way, or at least considered it, and balked.

And speaking of Gundam, designs have been reused for that. There's at least one mech design that is consistent throughout the franchise: that of the main hero.
