And that constipated face ... that was more creepy than guitar man and rap boy.
nemesis-prime wrote:UH..............WHAT WAS THAT ..IF ITS FOR THE NEW MOVIE WHY NOT ROTF FOOTAGE,,,,,,,
Caps lock key, no need for it to be turned on constantly.
And there was ROTF footage in there. No doubt he could only use what's been released in the trailer though.

it sounded like a linkin park remix of the touch. I'm not a really a fan of them (although the first album was a great guilty pleasure) and i think maybe it could sound better had it been them playing it or stan singing with them or something.

Screw sold out, he's gone insane!
What the [EFF!] with a side helping of bloody hell!?
This is the worst remake since the Fantastic 4 movies.
Actually I think this is worse!

Try again?

Think I will listen to the original now...

I hope he tries again.

I'm pretty sure you have to be making money to have sold out. I get the impression poor Stan Bush isn't really making money off his music.
I think the biggest problem with this, and I saw a lot of problems, is that the lyrics really only work in a cheesy eighties song. This project was doomed from the start.

Personally, I will always be a big fan of his own work, but the vibe given off by the video feels like he's trying a bit too hard to fit the theme of the movie. Sure, the original was campy, but hell, we loved it... and still do.
If this makes it to the ROTF soundtrack, I will be majorly surprised.

That was horrible. At least the original has some 80s cheese factor going for it. If they put the original in ROTF, it might actually be comical. This is just sad. I mean, Stan Bush has always been a washed up hack, but now he has sunk to new levels of washed up hackiness. I didn't think it was possible. Stan, its time to give up, buddy (actually, it was time to give up 20 years ago, but who's counting?).

OK, ya'll know I'm not really the negative type. I'm usually the one trying to look at the positives.
But whoa...that video was positively awful. I didn't mind the music so much...until the rapping started. My first thought was of the 1994 remake Bon Jovi did of "Livin on a Prayer"...the way they slowed that one down was also real bad. I'm sorry, but even I can't defend this one...take out the rap and MAYBE it's okay.
You'd expect something more from someone with multiple Emmy awards...

Overall, C-, and the grade is only this high because he included scenes from ROTF in it and gave it an edge.
Cyclonus Maximus has spoken.

Actually, I can see what he was trying to do. Put some emotion into it, change the style. If I were him I would consider that a maybe. Why not hand it over to somebody else to rework if it has be reworked, there must be some band out there that could bring it up to date.
The guitar guy made me nervous.

Megatron_Wolf wrote:Dear god what was that? Couldnt even watch the hole thing. Compared to the original that was crap. Stan just because you cant hit those high notes the same way any more doesnt mean you add in a terrible rapper guy. linkin park already did a song for the album theres no need for a linkinparkesc song. Im sorry im a fan of his work but this was just wrong. They should've just re-recorded the original so it sounds fresh and new like Iron Maiden did with Wrathchild. Hell a live version of the original would've kicked ass. I would agree with those that say he sold out. And its kinda our fault to. We wanted one of his songs in the movie so bad that he did what they wanted instead of sticking to what works so it would be included. See this movie franchise is screwing up the TF universe.
I REALLY doubt that version will be in the movie. That was in no way a studio backed video, the production quality on it was just crap.

BTW, I love the original, and Dare, so I'm not trying to bag on Stan at all

The video's meh with that random guitar player dude, but the effects were pretty good.
I like the original, but it's a bit too 80's for me. This is a nice alternative for me.

Admittedly I'm still not 100% sure on what "flaming" is, but it isn't a crime to like a song. It just isnt my cup of tea....

Forgotten wrote:That was the worst thing i've heard in soooo long and I just listened to the new Eminem cd so there's a comparison for ya. I think that now that band needs to be cast in ROTF and have megatron step on them, grind his heel and activate a tank tread so that we never have any more of these outbursts of "artistic idea" from Stan & co. appear in the next Transformers movie. Maybe I went to far, but.......I THOUGHT THAT WAS TERRIBLE!!!
Dude, I think you just out-grossed the finale of Turok with that statement.

Take a great, '80s, upbeat rock song about how kick-ass Optimus Prime is and turn it into an off-key, melodramatic, over-indulgent sob-fest. I wasn't thrilled with seeing Stan in a tight leather jacket, with his gut sticking out during his "The Touch"/warfare remix and it doesn't flatter him now, either. He was unable to hit any of the notes well and parts sounded as if his voice was about to crack; the expression on his face looked painful.
Besides, what does "The Touch" have to do with Sam? The ROTF trailer shows Sam freaking out, denying any part of the "war", and rejecting a robot who saves his life in order to go to college. Every lyric in the song is a contradiction to the character of Sam Witwicky.

While I doubt he dives into a swiming pool of money Scrooge McDuck-style every night, but wouldn't he get a decent amount of money off royalties from the original TF movie and Bloodsport, Kickboxer etc?
I heard The Touch in the men's bathroom of my local cinema once, he should have got a full 5p from that right there.
Posted by Mechas8n on May 16th, 2009 @ 1:05pm CDT
I never got to see it as its gone now, but How could he have possibly thought that was a good idea "I know Ill take somthing from the 1980's and update it with modern styling and sensibilities. Im sure the Transformers fans love it when that happens!"

Maybe that was the guitarist in the stall with the hole in the side?
Not sure about the 5p though. From the looks of him he was probably doing it for free.
