Ordered 2 P/CP's and one Cyclonus. A couple of days earlier than I wanted to, but I don't want to miss out on these.

I would second this question, considering that they never ran out of Airazor or Astrotrain.
Also. Doesn't it seem fishy that they set up a pre-order for a toy you haven't even seen yet? AND you have to pay for it now rather than later... Also, these guys F-A-I-L at head designs which is the main feature of said toy.
My conclusion:
It's a SCAM!!!
Chances are that the head is either junk or non existent. And the "50% sold out" is probably bull**** just to get people to buy the darn thing!
And, for those of you whom think I don't have a right to an opinion. I am a member and I have bought Airazor and Astrotrain and am enjoying at least one of them. I've bought Fan Toys, I pre-ordered Ultra Magnus, Defender and the Crossfire sets! I buy overpriced Japanese Armored Core and Gundam figures for God's sake!
But one thing I've never done is buy anything I havent seen before I paid for it. It isn't just about the money.
No see head, no buy toy. Simple as that.

And it looks like P/CP is somewhere around 1600 figures, going from various posts.

Astrotrain's definitely not the worst. I was just bummed how the actual sculpt came out. If you look at the original design of his head, it looks much, much better.

and...I went ahead and ordered a 3rd. It had to be done.

It's a design drawing, similar to the one for Punch / Counterpunch. I've got 2 ordered ... I was tempted for 3, but couldn't do it. I may sell one but I had to have two for the gallery.

I just feel if for once collectors chose to let these figures purposely bomb in sales, even the smaller companies would drop the prices a bit. The fans have the power...but not the will power unfortunatley...
Actually, I believe that Hasbro has already proved you wrong. Hasbro has stated time and time again that fans make up a small portion of their revenues but people still don't believe. They attempted to work directly with the fans when they produced Special Edition Dragstrip, Overkill, Megatron. They produced them at a smaller run (my guess is 4000-5000) but with nice packaging and they were charging $16. The 1st 1000 sold out in a fair amount of time but once fans realized Hasbro had made more then that they waited for it to go on clearance. A year later, when the entire batch disappeared from HTS instead of clearancing people started panicking and buying it from scalpers at $24-$40 before realizing that HTS just sent it's extras to Marshalls.
So. . .because of the bombs in sales, we're not getting a Special Edition red mirage or updated cliffjumper for $16.

The head is the central attraction to this item! Sorry but I agree with Vicalliose on this one, If there is no clear view of the head sculpt that specificly makes this exclusive what it is then I'm not making that investment.
And no, this mold is not as solid as when it started. My Sideswipe is very finicky compared to Sunsteaker and lord only knows what terror Red Alert is.
I say let's see the head sample first, then I'll cast my vote. If it pre-orders out of stock before then, so be it.

The Ironhide/Ratched head is horrible and my least favourite aspect of the whole figure. But the rest you listed apart from Nightbeat look really nice.

Oh, and you totally have a right to an opinion.. I just don't agree with your opinion.
With what you said in mind, I went ahead and checked every single head sculpt manufactured by Fun Publications. To be honest, I'm not that impressed. Especially with the Kup they did last year. Yes I do still like Airazor and many of the other Fun pubs releases look quite good. But that's not the whole point.
What is more important is that the entire reason for buying this toy is the head sculpt. Whether fun pubs can do good work or not doesn't change the fact that all I've seen of this toy is what appears to be nothing more than a photoshopped picture! You always get to see the Botcon Exclusives before you buy them don't you?

I have 2 sideswipes and 2 sunstreakers. All of them were fine figures.. No issues with "mold degradation." I also got Henkei Red Alert. That figure is great! I don't think anyone needs to worry about the mold being bad.

No see head, no buy toy. Simple as that.
On principal, I agree with what you're getting at.
In execution, you're being heavy handed and possibly short-sighted.
The toy will, with little doubt be quite good. The head should be similar if not exact to the promotion art. This toy will be very expensive on the secondary market once it sells out.
The Club does a lot of stuff wrong/annoying from a business stand point. Their most loyal members/supporters are always begging for table scraps of information rather than having it served up with ease for their consumption. So, in regards to your principal stance of "They should not be rewarded for this behavior." I 100% agree.
However, considering the inevitable price the Punch figure will command, not getting one now will equate to cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Your the huge P/PC fan, and you of all people can see where I'm coming from!?
I must say I'm... surprised.
You are right though, the proper words would not be "It's a SCAM!!!" as I said before, but that it 'looks like a scam.' in a sense that I do not feel comfortable with Fun Pubs, or any other business operating in such an odd manner.
I just know I'll be banging myself on the head later if I don't order it though.
After all, it is the whole reason I joined...
But not until July? Why would I want to make a payment on something that far away?! It's ridiculous that they even have the pre-orders up! I was gonna buy Drift, Seaspray, Thrust, and perhaps even some of the Powered Cores! I already ordered the crossfire sets!
Now I've got to start crunching numbers on what's more important.
BTW it wasn't very clear when I checked their site, so would it cost me a percentage to cancel one of the pre-orders?

Look, dude, I'm neither crazy nor messing with you. (Ok, maybe the "display in alt mode" was a bit of a joke...) You get all warm and fuzzy over the head sculpts?? FINE. Don't order it, but then good luck on e-bay when they're gone and it ends up looking good. Criminy, for as much as you're "not that impressed" by basically any head sculpt FunPub has ever done, why not go into the head-sculpting business so you can finally be happy? Life is too short!
Look, I'm really just trying to say that I think you safely have enough to go on this time that if you really want the figure you should go ahead and pre-order it. By and large, the mold is good. The head sculpt sketches look solid. Will I be disappointed if I get my figure and they stuck a frickin' Lego head on top with a face on either side? YES! But I don't want to be left out on this one, not with this figure. If the figure itself isn't that big of a deal to you, I see where you'd want to wait it out. I did the same with the exclusive Nightbeat, and I'm really not that disappointed that I don't have it. If all else fails, throw it on e-bay if you're not happy and someone will pay top dollar for it.
Honestly, what you want to do is what you want to do--I can't really understand why either of us is getting so worked up over this...

The problem with paying now is that I won't have the money to pay for it until next weekend. Should be a non-issue for Dion because I renewed my membership when I bought the version of Wings of Honor that has his MTMTE bio. (Since it was well before the 16th, I should be getting Dion as this year's free figure anyway.) But for the other two... Meep.
The problem with not getting billed for these figures until they ship is that they may ship late in the month the club has them available to send out. There's no telling if this'd actually happen or not until the figures actually ship, but I don't wanna bounce any checks...

What I meant is that it's been 'hit & miss' with their head sculpting. I 'do' know a few that I believe were very good though.

Maybe, but Thrust will took 3 years to make mass produced status in the US since his first appearance. It's also been said (and confirmed) that TFCC destroys the molds it uses to prevent KOs appearing in the future.
So I'm not holding my breath; and even if P/CP does make mass release, I'll have gottem my enjoyment from the fig.

Not only that, but if/when P/CP makes a 'traditional' release, if ever, it won't be exactly like the TFCC release, just like Thrust wasn't. In this case, that's a guaranteed new head sculpt.
I'd be right in line for that reissue also.; just like Thrust. Maybe Hasbro/TT would scuplt some new hands. 3rd party makers have an opportunity here. I wondering how long before those appear in the market?

No disrespect to anybody but I see this figure making a comeback. Just like Thrust.
TFCC licenses product from Hasbro, not the other way around. If Hasbro wanted to make more, they'd tell TFCC, "We're making more." I'd be shocked if Hasbro/Takara would ever do that, though, without telling the TFCC "you're through." Sure, they'd re-sculpt possibly, but never straight out reissue the club's exclusive works.

That's my opinion as well. I've been enjoying Thundercracker, Thrust, and Dirge from the GoD set for three years now. Making the set well worth the price I paid for the Iacon package.
