In a bit of irony, I had to open my spam folder to even find the e-mail. I actually got several e-mails from them, one of which confirming that my order had in fact gone through.
As far as the delay, I think the fandom would be far more forgiving if they didn't always have such a short window laid down by FunPub on the other end which in the past has included things such as a day or less for an exclusive (and this year the BotCon hotel, for the most part) and less than a week for last year's BotCon Primus packages.

anyways, to make a long story short, I at least got my order in,....i'm pretty sure my lightning fast fingers got the VERY first order in,...my order number is 60600,...and I double dog dare someone to have a lower number,...if ya do you win a nice shiny penny! (maybe we can have a mini-contest here to see who DID get the first order, i'm just kinda curious actually)

I have two options here: 1. Leave it be and hope for the best (i.e., assume the order did go through as their website shows) 2. Purchase a second set and potentially end up with 2x the figures I wanted and end up wasting all that money.
I'm going with option 1. for now, I just hope I'm right .
edit: I just checked my email (again), and I finally DID get an order confirmation. Thank goodness. Looks like I was one of the lucky ones.
I hope that everyone else is able to get their figures as well once the site goes back up.

It appears to be an order status update so I'm guessing relates to the actual pre-order that has gone through. Other than my membership each year I've never actually purchased anything as the shipping costs to the uk are so high so I'm not sure how his will all work.

My membership update was screwed up as well, I had to call and they took care of it really quickly and pleasantly.
Unfortunately I was not able to get any of my attempts through before the shut down, so I have to try again.

y'know guaranteeing 24 hour availability for pre-orders doesn"t seem like too much to ask for, does it? 1 full day of availability? Just 1 effin day?

Well, I won't get one then. I actually managed to find a job and start tomorrow- after three effing years and 1,046 applications in 20 states- and this happens.
I quit. Damn you FunPub's credit card company. Damn you to the furthest, deepest depths of the 10th level of Hell for screwing this up. My only hope is that things fail tomorrow, too.

Fantabulous. Mine is due on Thursday, and I was hoping to get the pre-orders in and done long before that. (Actually, my subscription due date isn't supposed to be until April--yet another thing they messed up.)

Um, no. Are you serious? Is there anything about these charges (i.e., what is purchased/where the purchase is made etc.) that any of the fraudulent charges had in common so that we know what to look out for?

Whenever this sort of thing happens I throw my eyes at TFScource, but if they still can't keep their shit sorted by now I'd be astonished they're still in business. If it's TFCC who's at fault here, then I think there may have something other than the limited processing power of the CC company being what made TFCC change.

You have got to be kidding. Why wouldn't they have a secured connection? This company looks more and more like ametures.

I remember seeing the twitter posts of the club in regards to MTV.com site's "geek" column. At the time I thought, wow - now that's a whole new audience of neo geek - good and bad. I digress (read: just sayin).
I'm following my credit card, and told customer service about my concerns. They've taken precautions, and I have my contingencies lined up. Perhaps I should have sat this one out.
In any case, today I'm proud of the community for spreading the word in the manner they have chosen. Level headed, and for the most part, non-accusatory. One thing is for sure, TFCC is on notice by a portion of the fandom. The sales are going to reflect this, I presume.

OK, THAT is messed up. If TFCC was capable of doing dirty deeds of that caliber, even if they are changing their CC processor, I don't know if I want to do business with them anymore.

I hope you're not implying that's what I meant. I'm just saying, they decided to use a second rate (and apparently shady at this point) credit card processor. For me, that's a huge breach of trust. Even if they were to shape up, which they apparently they are trying to, I'd be dubious to trust them again.

At this point, I'm just keeping an eye on my bank account, and after a few final bills/charges have hit my account which I'm waiting on, I'm going to call my bank and have them issue me a new card and cancel the one that is now likely in the hands of the thieves.
