Only drawback would be the face is a lil rugged but otherwise, ok.

And another subscription figure means another very minor damage-through-shipping issue: The way her missile clusters were jammed in, one of the rubber missiles is bent up, so when they're attached in jet mode, it looks like it's angled to loop back and nail anyone tailing her. Actually an interesting idea, and nothing that can't be bent back with a little patience. Anyone else have this issue?
So, those leaked photos a while back actually were evidence she'd be next. Who'd a thunk FunPub would lead with what were surely the most fan-demanded of the six? Not to slight the ex-Action-Masters, of course (Jackpot was always a personal fav of mine for his ability to surf on Sights's back), I was just positive those two would be first back when I signed up.

Rubber bits are almost always slightly askew. Heat up some water, dip the parts in for a few moments and bend to shape. Dip them in cool water and you should be good. For heating water, I usually microwave a coffee mug for about a minute at a time. Three is usually plenty. You'll want to check after every minute though to ensure you don't boil over. It just needs to be slightly hotter than your tap.

When I took her out of the box, the missile pods stayed in because she was packed snugly. I took them out and they both look completely fine to me.

Since I haven't ordered anything recently, it's gotta be this figure.

I have room in the house that gets up to 100 degrees in the summer due to no A/C. I've left TFs with bent soft rubber parts in there, such as BW Depth Charge's knee bits; and they've gone back to standard shape within a day. Hope that helps.

Not on mine. Wasn't on Scourge or Depth Charge, either. Then again, don't they all get shipped via the same method, or could you choose a different one when you signed up? I've forgotten..

Nope. I've never had to sign for any club figures and I have all of the sub figs and most of the others.

Actually, I want to say, the black on her mouth isn't lipstick, it's actually the inside of her mouth. Her mouth's open, but the way her mouth is sculpted with it open and the silver paint does give her the look of having lips. Sorta.. Arcee Prime like.

Who knows, with Club fiction being so convoluted. Then again, she's in Axiom Nexus now so we should actually be asking "Who cares?"
For that matter, how does Scourge fit in?

No, her lips are definitely closed. That blackness isn't an open mouth.Ebonyleopard wrote:gothsaurus wrote:So the face isn't as bad as you'd think... but the question is, would LIPSTICK help it!!???

Here's an older pic with her lips unpainted.
Just think of Scourge s something like a Classics update.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Wolfman Jake wrote:By the way, is she supposed to be part of the Prime continuity? But, if you want to peg him down as a specific fictional version from a certain universal stream, then maybe he'seither and upgraded version of the cartoon Scourge or a Scourge from an alternate non-Cartoon Viron cluster universe.

Looking at the figure in hand, that doesn't look like lipstick to me. Her mouth is definitely open and the black appears to be the inside of her mouth. I can see her lips outside. When you get your figure in hand, check it out and let me know what you think, Sabrblade.

I've got "RID" Scourge on my Classics shelf as a neo-G1 version of the character. Hey, we've got other characters sharing the same name in G1 (e.g., MW Hubcap, G2 Smokescreen, etc.), so why not another? He's hanging out with Classics Nemesis Prime. Figured they would be good buddies.

Having finally gotten the chance to open mine and take a look at it, I can say for absolute certainty that her mouth is definitely closed with her lips painted black.datguy86 wrote:Looking at the figure in hand, that doesn't look like lipstick to me. Those two parts of her face sticking out just above and below the blackness? Yeah, those aren't her lips. Those are the parts of her face connected immediately above and below her lips. They slant outward a bit because that's how those parts of the face are shaped on a human face. Mine, yours, everyone's face is like that, when relaxed and not consciously reshaped to make it not be so. The lips are the part that goes inward, towards the seem of the mouth's opening, like on any person.

I understand how a person's face is shaped; doesn't always mean it's going to be that way for a robot. I understand TFCC may have tried to replicate black lipstick and, from what I see, failed. The failure is mostly due to the depression of the mouth. It's too deep to be the lips you described. It honestly looks like her mouth is open, with the lips surrounding the open mouth. I've some pictures for reference; one of these pictures has horrible MS Paint apps. (Thankfully, I never wanted to be a beautician; only a beaut.)
Anyway, the lips appear to be around the gap - that red "lipstick" does not touch the black coloration of her mouth, yet stays within the area of the lips. I certainly see where you are coming from. I just don't agree with you. I couldn't get a decent shot of the face in the current lighting, but some of the black paint is on the upper and lower lips of my figure. It almost seems there was to be a lipstick application but someone didn't follow through correctly. Thank you for letting me know your opinion, though.

TCC member Jesse Wittenrich has pointed out that her mouth is closed, so that's official word for ya.
Also, that second pic with the red looks yucky.

Sabrblade wrote:Well, take a small, but powerful flashlight and shine it over her mouth area and there is a tiny seam in the middle of the black part, which is meant to be where the lips meet at a closed mouth. An open mouth wouldn't have a seam in it (unless there's a second mouth inside the first mouth - Yo Dawg ).

Crap. Now I'm afraid Slipstream's gonna assassinate via Alien mouth.
TCC staff member, right? Then that makes it fact, and in my opinion, a pretty poor paint job.
...but not as poor as my MS Paint job.

I think the one thing that should have been done to make Slipstream all the more distinctive was to give her light-piping.
The only flaw with me was the fact that the rockets were attached while inside the foam. That caused (IMO) them to look all crooked and that was unpleasant.
In the end it's still a great TF.

All things considered, I've really liked the figures to far as well. I think they're doing a good job filling gaps where Hasbro kinda drops the ball. Never quite sure why they miss the opportunities to do obvious — and much wanted — repaints like Magnus, Nemesis Prime (Scourge), seekers, etc.

Makes you wonder, because fansproject is a smaller entity and has a smaller profit margin, where as TFCC is getting the figures directly and just ships it to people. Their profit margin is much higher as they don't really have to worry about the manufacturing costs of a figure + new head, whereas FP has to worry about their own costs for production.

To be fair, FansProject doesn't have to worry about:
--A regularly published magazine
--An office space with utilities, furniture , and Internet
--Employees who require regular salaries, benefits, etc
--Planning, Scheduling and Running Large Conventions
--Online Store
--A website that has be actually updated once in while.
--Other things I'm sure

But then later, for some unexplained reason, he was suddenly drawn with a more Cliffjumper-esque head and without his silver bits for the remainder of his appearances.
Why? Who knows. But I'm okay with the Cliffjumper head. I think it looks better.

I'm so glad they're doing a better job PLANNING for repaints and retools. Some, like Grapple, Black Shadow, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, FOC Blaster, Hoist... have been absolute knockouts. A little better planning and they have been able to milk the molds and throw fans a bone like never before. Very pleased with how they've worked these.
Did I mention Springer/Sandstorm?
