Titans Return Wave 3 TV Commercial

It's been so long since I've had regular television, do these commercials actually ever air, or are they just viewable online?

That's another thing I will say for the 80's...the commercials were on seemingly all the time, as long as a kids program was on, not just during the actual Transformers show itself. I have no idea where/when these commercials air.

Alright, checking Topspin's TM against those of every other Deluxe in the line so far, I can basically confirm that Topspin is indeed a new mold. The Titan Master's molding doesn't match up with any other Deluxe's (and presumably is also different from all the other classes too, not that that should matter since some kind of crazy cross-class TM transfer, if even possible at all, would probably require a new body mold anyway). Wolfwire is the one it's closest to, but even the similarities there are negligible, not nearly enough to suggest any kind of shared parts. So, three new molds this wave (assuming Perceptor isn't some kind of major retool of someone else)! Hooray!

I checked it too, and he's right, all new. Now, who's Freezeout named and designed after? He's named after the AoE Kreon Micro Changer, and he's designed after ehm... I don't know? I checked Aimless for a possible Misfire retool, but nope. Maybe after Topspin himself? It has happened.
Perceptor is also a whole new mold: his Titan Master Convex is designed after the original G1 toy, mouthplate and all. That seems to be the trend: Titan Masters take on toy designs, while the head modes go full on cartoon or comic.

Krok and Quake are as predicted... so where are the Titan Master names? O, don't expect TakaraTomy to release them.

You may have answered your own question - Freezeout, at least to me without higher-quality pictures; does seem to resemble Topspin quite a bit.

Straight from the Cybertron Phillippines Facebook page courtesy of fellow user steals_your_goats, we have packaging images for everything (sans Leader-class Sky Shadow) in Wave 4 of Titans Return - including the very recently confirmed Krok and Quake; redecoes of Wave 1's Skullsmasher and Hardhead!
With the packaging reveal not only comes some neat art and a close look at the toys themselves, but also finally the reveal of the names of the Titan Masters of Topspin, Quake and Krok - respectively; Freezeout, Chasm and Gatorface.

It would be a terrible shame to break the pair up it's bad enough that they constantly fail to complete sets as it is.

Honestly, I'd say if we're getting a Topspin then Twin Twist is pretty much confirmed.

Its been 5 years and we still dont have a DOTM Twin Twist. jokes aside, this confirms nothing. Hasbro has often released only one of the casette bots without releasing the other. There is no Prime frenzy, no Platinum Rewind, no Alternators Frenzy and when they were gonna release that Frenzy/Rumble RTS mold it was only gonna be one of them (they ended up not even releasing it). All I am trying to say is keep your expectations low. I am sure Twin Twist will happen one day, but us getting Toppsin doesnt make it more or less likely than before, especially when they never shared a mold before.

Blitzwing will have a TM which looks just like himself, since he will share the same as the one Megatron has. And for the collectors out there, the toys that Japan dont get are always the more collectable Hasbro toys internationally. Rook and Offroad sold for quite a pretty penny there. To add to the rarity, these are shortpacked. I foresee these being the ones that go for more on the aftermarket in a year from now. While I wont be getting Breakaway, these two look like a lot of effort and planning went into them so I might get them.

So, if Hasbro continues the trend, and makes a Slag head (possibly out of Fangry), do you think that it might look good on Kup? (Slag is the only Dinobot that would make sense with smaller arms). I already have a Hardhead with Clobber and Highbrow with Ptero. I also think Chromedome could be Snarl and Broadside could be Sludge.

As a side note, the Ptero head looks quite nice on Triggerhappy, and we're now getting what is essentially a Decepticon Hardhead Transector. I guess Astrotrain could work as Sludge...

Or maybe Hasbro won't release any more Dinobot heads, or just straight-up release the Dinobots in this line or one to come (with the rumors of beast combiners).

Pretty nice looking wave overall. Really looking to get Broadside, Kup, Perceptor, and Brawn.

Sky Shadow looks amazing as well. Hope I can find some these guys in-store in Feb.

Gatorface was some kids' movie about a humanoid gator monster,

Chasm was a fan-character dragon cassette, possibly created by Raksha,

and Freezeout...hails from 10th Avenue.

Couldn't ask for more! Well, not from HasTak. But I'm REEEEAAALY hoping we get a 3rd party TipTop and Heater set. Quake was my first and only 'Con Targetmaster for well over a decade, so properly arming a proper update means a lot to me.

My dream has been to get an updated set of Monsterbots. I am brutally disappointed that Repugnus is a tiny little headmaster vehicle thing. Deeply saddened by this terrible turn of events.
Why wouldn't they make him a deluxe like Doublecross, can anyone explain this to me?

I was hoping to not have to go 3rd party for my updated Monsterbot team but Hasbro has forced my hand.

I actually was about to type this. Gatoraider is like the best name evah.

The Club's update for Krok is better, if we are going for a ful homage to G1. But Hasbro is pretty witty. The robot mode is the Action Master but the beast mode is purely gatoraider. Look at how close they stick with the G1 crocodile, all the black and yellow is there:

Edit: G1 Krok never had an alt mode, so giving him a crocodile mode instead of a spaceship/jet is not a bad idea. Especially since his name fits that better.

Since Sky Shadow's Titan Master already looks like one of Overlord's Godmasters, and since Titans Return Leader class toys get helmets that cover the craniums of their Titan Masters anyway, Quake's Titan Master most likely won't be used for Overlord.

For Topspin, i'll get him, together with Sixshot and Astrotrain
Funny thing is, how did get a name of the titan master, Freezeout? i guess he's chilling all day

I think that toy is superior simply for the alt mode use. it gives h the right kibble in robot mode.

The one I got for my birthday as a kid exploded the first time it tried to flip into bot mode. Great gift!

So I'm definitely getting all of this wave for sure. My only complaint (and I can't believe nobody has brought this up) is that Nightbeat is getting a THIRD release!

Wave 4

Why? Why so many, knowing that a lot of stores didn't get proper wave 2 and missed out on Clobber (so happy Skytread is getting another run) and that we're supposed to have a Deluxe Nightbeat in wave 5 or 6? It's not even that great of a Titan Master, possibly the worst of the line (though Takara Tomy did wonders with the repaint). That's just crazy, wave 4 should be Repugnus, Shuffler, Skytread, and Clobber. Seriously, Skytread and Clobber are leaving a gap in my TM collection and I'll probably never see Clobber in the wild.

(Cue someone complaining about how Clobber and Skytread are clogging shelves in their state/country.)

Topspin is still my favorite jumpstarter, and he even still works! Twintwist never successfully did his thang, tho

That said, I still can't believe how amazing this Deluxe version of Topspin looks - but I also enjoyed how his bot mode looked back in 1985, and didn't have an issue with his alt mode. He was still cooler looking than the Throttlebots or an inside-bot of a Pretender!

I also agree Quake's body will make a great transtector for other Cons.

Of the latest wave of Titan Masters, Sawback is turning out to be my fave - I thought it was gonna be Fangry, but there's something special about Lione.....er, Sawback.
