As for Cyclonus, common belief is that that was a preliminary/misunderstood name for Galvatron.
Remember the CinemaCon description? There was a jet Transformer that came from Lockdown's ship and scooped Tessa and Optimus with a net. That could be Cyclonus or a possible drone that serves Lockdown. You are going to have to watch the movie to find out.
We dont have to to know Cyclonus is not in the movie
the name was used as a code name for Galvatron during the filming i was there and the only vehicle there that did not have the proper names were the black semi and there is no vehicle that cyclonus could be.
There was art drawn for the character and it was listed on a script on set (IIRC, ALONGSIDE Galvatron), which is where the original rumour/confirmation of the character came from - note that the Wikipedia editors thought it was legit enough to include that, and they refuse to even list characters based off toy sightings. Ofcourse, a lot can change in a year of editing, however I've got my money down that this is Cyclonus, and he transforms into a helicopter of some description.
The guy who in Payoff flips the cars at Bumblebee. I struggle to see Bay giving so much screen time to a fight between Bee and a random vehicon bot with no name, additionally it looks a lot like the art that was leaked for Cyclonus AND it's head design looks very similar to Starscream. I mean IDK guys, but my gut is telling me it is. I live to be proved wrong.

After seeing all of these commercials and trailers, I've noticed something I didn't catch the first time: It's going to be a rehash of the first film.
Wait...hang on!
"I...am Optimus Prime" *cue introductory montage*
One or more of the bots says something funny to make them endearing.
Bumblebee changes from "old & busted" into "the new hotness".
Giant city battle, once in flashbacks from Chicago, with the current climax in China.
The wow factor, this time coming from the Dinobots, like what happened with Optimus in the first one.
Joshua is Simmons with a new coat of paint.
Now Cade, instead of Sam, is telling Bumblebee "Faster Bee!" (and he's calling him Bee, too!)
The kids in the ball field remind me of the kids in the diner when Ratchet crashes to Earth.
Locations have changed, the villain's changed, character models have changed, but the rest of it strikes me as the first movie all over again. However, I'll be fair... This could be what the first film should've been, and could be a really strong film. I'm keeping an open mind, but I'm not ignoring the common threads here.
There are some positive changes, however:
The humans DO hate the Autobots and this could lead to a strong story.
The scene with Attinger and Cade shows there's at least a slight bit of character development and some serious undertones.
Optimus actually fires AT humans (doesn't kill, but fires at!) and protects the family first, instead of Bumblebee handling that task. (As he usually does.)
If the positives have enough impact, if the story's stronger than it's predecessors, then this could be a fantastic film.

Im ok with the Lockdown voice, I guess. But I think it's a bit cliche (British accent = villain).
I still wish they had Lance Henriksen.

It's from 2009 (ROTF concepts) but it's the concept art Nizzi did specifically for Cyclonus IIRC from his website, he was meant to transform into an Apache. Go ahead, google image Josh Nizzi, it's right there.
It's the exact same character, virtually unchanged. We've heard the character was in the script from a call sheet.
With hindsight I agree it looks different from the Starscream-dude shooting at Bee above, I just think it's weird that there's a Starscream lookalike fighting Bee. Perhaps there are even more new characters we haven't heard of (Thundercracker anyone?) OR, perhaps more probably, Bay is using the characters/designs but not giving them names. *shrug* I'm not grasping at straws here, it just seems probable to me and the image doesn't lie, that's the same bot that's in the concept art from 4 years ago. That's Cyclonus.

You know what? That does look a hell of a lot like him. I hope that truly is Cyclonus. Maybe after Lockdown is "taken care of," maybe they'll introduce Unicron's minions or whatever and have the final few minutes of the movie have to do with building them up for the sequel. Kind of like the Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

(From what we know) there are 2 "factions" of bad guys in this film's climax, the Vehicons made by humans, and Lockdown's henchmen. We obviously don't know if they're working together, or if Lockdown takes control of them, or why he is sucking up Hong Kong etc it's all relevant, BUT if I'm completely honest, that design does not look to me like Lockdown's buddies overall aesthetic. If anything it looks human-made. It's all smooth panels and army markings, original trilogy design where Lockdown&co are bars, green glow and spiky alien bits. BUT HEY, we find out in 11 days time!
P.S.
TimothyR wrote:just an fyi.. the robot that is in that photo is hound.. you can tell by the gun, and the bars on his back.
I hope you're right and that is Hound in that shot, it makes me feel slightly less embarrassed that the Cyclonus design is nothing like the original cap I posted.

Rgardless, I would LOVE a toy of that CG model. I always like when a helicopter alt mode is attempted.

"Colored-coded Good Guy Transformers in a desert" is a concept as old as G1.guarayakha wrote:Anyone getting a TF:Prime vibe from this TVspot? We have the desert and 4 obviously color-coded bots; YellowBee, RedPrime, BlueNinjaDrift replacing Arcee and HugeGreenHound replacing Bulkhead. Minus Ratchet, of course.
If you want to single out their being a small ragtag bunch instead of a big unit, then that would make the concept as old as Beast Wars, instead.

But taking the recency element into account, this is very Prime like as opposed to what we saw in the past 10 years. The inclusion of a Bulk Head like character also reinforces that element since a big green brute force character has been far more prominent as a core team member in recent TF shows like Animated and Prime.
Also, I really like that comment about how this is a redo of the first movie but with lessons learned (hopefully). This is pretty much the start of a new trilogy so it only makes sense that we retread certain things. If all goes well, we can have a discussion someday about which trilogy we should show our kids, like Star Wars fans do

If he's that irrelevant, it's kindof funny how there is clearly a fight sequence between Bee and that Decepticon. Even in ROTF, the filler 'Cons that took longer than 3 seconds to die all had names (the Constructicon clones lol), plus we're getting Junkheap return (named) in TF4 and he had 3 seconds of screentime in DOTM.
Bear in mind that first and foremost, Josh Nizzi is a massive Transformers fan, he was creating TF robot designs before he got hired, that's why Bay snapped him up so fast for TF2. I'm fully aware that the design is from the tutorial DVD he put out, that's why I included the link in the OP. I can't pull the source, but wherever I first saw that image was an interview with Nizzi talking about his work and that image was referenced, it had one of those blurbs notes overlaid with his name, TF3 etc on it IIRC, with the name Cyclonus. Any photoshopper can slap that on the image, but it was with an interview, so... seemed legit to me. Ofcourse like I said, that's no guarantee that they use the name. It could just be a "drone" as was mentioned above, which would f*cking suck.
I'm just going to leave this thread here as well. Some people seem to think it's the same model that OP cuts in half when he jumps off Grimlock so it may just be a drone --
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transform ... an-he.html
If that is the same bot, either OP kills him later in 2 seconds OR it's a drone. Having said that, supposedly there are multiple Stinger's, and we've just heard that the Trax drones are also a "character called Trax". Wouldn't be surprised if there are multiple "Cyclonus"'s.

There is only one Freightliner (Galvatron's alt mode) so its safe to say that there is only one Galvatron
same goes for Stinger and Junkheap and the two sport cars (the orange and the white ones) that were with Galvatron, Stinger and Junkheap.

Well, that's 2 Stingers already in the first trailer,
Should point out that Stinger is part of a product line, from what we've seen from the trailers they're advertising him. I mean, perhaps you could hope there is only one working prototype when they blow up the factory (Kreo toy kit + honestly it has to happen plot-wise), or that that car next to the robot is a plain car model (lol), but still. We haven't seen anything that says there is only one Stinger and the whole Trax thing would suggest otherwise.
Also, we know nothing about the extra cars that were filmed driving around with Junkheap, Galv, Stinger and the Trax. For all we know, they're just Vehicons as well - go ahead, prove me wrong. This is Michael Bay and if you haven't learnt by now, you should expect "the worst".

Well, that's 2 Stingers already in the first trailer,
Should point out that Stinger is part of a product line, from what we've seen from the trailers they're advertising him. Stinger is standing besides a normal Pagani.
And have you seen more of those cars during the filming?
No we did not there is only one orange car and only one of those white cars but sure they could be Veicons
so is Stinger and Galvatron then.

Pfffffff ha ha ha ha ha!!!
Are you using that as an excuse? Of course Bay he keeps secrets from us so does every other movie director. (yes i'm aware of spider man 2)
Expect the worse? there are worse things then the Bay movies and what he does like Kiss players and if you think that your going to get more from these movies then you guys deserve then your going to be in a world of disappointment.

I'm pretty sure you KNOW that Michael Bay was ever related in that junk. It would just be worse. Unless you are just comparing.

Ofcourse, it makes perfect sense that a showroom would be displaying something that isn't the actual product they were selling. "Sorry but that one doesn't transform... That's just what the product is MEANT to look like. Yaknow, to give you an idea!"
It's sitting next to the actual robot form, and you're telling me that that is a normal Pagini? Showrooms tend to show the product, and only the product. That's why they're showrooms, and this is a production line. It would be INCREDIBLY surreal if the robot can transform but the car can not, that doesn't make much sense.

Because there has to be multiple cars on set for there to be multiple copies of that character in the film! Which is why there is going to be 4 Optimus Primes in this film and they will all race together and defeat the bad guys side by side! We know this because Bay had four OP Western Stars made for filming.

About a month old at this point I'm afraid.
Also, I just realised something else that's pretty cool,
Swoop in the background, and judging by the size, that's surely a dinobot's arm swinging past on the left. Technically, our first look at robot-mode Dinobots pre-"Dinobot" TV Spot!

Because there was only one slagging Stinger made its not hard to understand that the product they are selling are the Traxs and not the Stingers because who has the money to buy a very expensive sports car?
No one
Why would they ruin the point of Bumblebee having a new rival by having a bunch of them?
and besides there is the actual product right there in robot mode standing besides a Regular god damn Pagani which is the product by the way a transformer that turns into a pagani its like saying that irl that a transformer in robot mode is not the same product as a second figure in alt mode.
Stop over analyzing shit and stop saying that bullcrap as fact.

Ugh agreed
I hate any Transformer enemy that are not cybertronian.
I hate Unicron because he is a silly cliche villian
and i hate Quintessons because they look stupid i'm okay with the concept of them i just hate their design.

Sabrblade wrote:Not to mention that it's probably gonna end up rewriting the whole AllSpark origin story into something like "The Quints made the AllSpark".
I dont have a problem with that actully i can see why others do but the Allspark has to come from somewhere?
Up to this point i thought it was made by Primus or God (I'm Christian if you have a problem with that)
Posted by Sabrblade on June 17th, 2014 @ 1:29am CDT
That's probably why it'll be a bother since a lot of folks accepted the AllSpark as Primus-related (though, in the tie-in comics for the movies, the cube made Primus instead of vice-versa).mirageandjazz1197 wrote:Up to this point i thought it was made by Primus or God
Making the sacred AllSpark into a product of an evil alien race might not go that smoothly over with some folks.

Who knows maybe there is an Allspark for every race (in the movie verse I don't mean irl)
like for all we know the Bay movie the first of all of Earth's species were made by an organic allspark or something.

The newest ad was broadcast on Comedy Central and contains more footage of Lockdown approaching Optimus after he wounds him. We've seen the ad where Lockdown spoke, in which he said "You think you're the center of the universe". Well, now he answers Prime's question of "Who sent you here?" and he answers it in the most shocking way possible:
Lockdown wrote:You think you were born? You were built and they want you back.
Sends chills down your spine, doesn't it? Gives you a clue as to who the big bad villain is this time around. Many have speculated, and it looks like the five faces of darkness may have won the title for AoE's villain!
We won't know for sure until it's released on June 26th, with the early midnight screenings. The official US release day is June 27th. This news was brought to us courtesy of Seibertron.com board user mirageandjazz1197, and the video embed below is from fellow Transformers fan OptimusJet

Also, I just remembered Epps's line from RoTF: "If god made us in his image, who made them?" I always thought the answer would be Primus, considering the god reference.
