ABOUT OUR JUDGES
Hot Topic:It all started in 1988. A ton of teen retail accessory stores filled the malls, but there wasn't a cool music-inspired accessory store for both guys and girls. Then came Hot Topic. As 1990 rolled around, adding apparel seemed like a no-brainer. What better way than to add the ultimate music fan essential - band tees. Imagine how our customers flipped when they were able to get Bauhaus, The Cure, TSOL, and Depeche Mode T-shirts at Hot Topic. Within a year, we had about 50 different band titles, along with rock-inspired clothing lines like Lip Service and Serious. As we expanded, we discovered that customers were equally drawn to the underground cartoon, cult movie, and comic book scenes. It was a unique culture fans could call their own, so we brought the world of South Park, Care Bears, Superman, SpongeBob and tons of other pop icons into our Hot Topic stores.
Seibertron.com: Seibertron.com is the Ultimate Transformers fansite, running since 2001! Seibertron.com is home to the world's largest collection of Transformers toys galleries from the very first iterations in the 80s all the way up to the newest releases. In the past decade and a half it has been a community hub and go-to site for news and discussion for all eras of Transformers toys, tv, games and comics. DOs & DON'Ts
1. Don't: Use Transformer or Hasbro logos. When creating your design imagine its part of the Transformers world.
2. Do: Use Decepticon/Autobot logos and any other logs that can be found in the shows!
3. Don't: Submit similar versions of the same design. Sometimes people submit the same design, but with small changes. This will only divide your votes and hurt your chances of winning.
4. Do: Make something original. Research to make sure your idea isn't already out there.
5. Don't use any copyrighted or inappropriate materials.
6. Do: Send art prints! We are now accepting art print submissions, not just tees!
FAQ - To see our full set of Contest FAQ, please click here.
Q: The submission kit is not downloading. I need help!
A: Please email contest@mightyfineinc.com. We should be able to send you one directly.
Q: How many designs can I submit?
A: You may submit up to 5 entries per person
Q: What file format do you accept?
A: All entries must be in one of the following file formats: GIF/PNG/JPG
Q: Is it ok for me to promote my designs to people I know to come and help rate my designs?
A: We encourage every artist submitting to the contest to promote themselves and their designs to friends, family and followers. Through our experience we have found that more ratings help determine what the fans really want as your winners! So please promote yourselves!
Q: It’s been more than 2 business days and I don't see my design on the site. What’s going on with my design?
A: We review every submission we get before they are made live for viewing and rating. We sometimes reject designs for obvious reasons. If you’ve done any of the following don’t even bother asking why your design was rejected.
- Your design has inappropriate materials.
- Your design uses other copy righted material. This means you are using other people’s intellectual property in your design you do not have the right to. NO MASH UPS!!!
- It’s not a design. A direct photograph or a scribble you just drew on a piece of paper is not considered a shirt design.
Q: I see people cheating. What should I do?
A: Please email contest[at]migthyfineinc[dot]com detailing what you are suspecting. More details you can give the better we can make our decision.

I can't seem to find anything in the ToS, but I'll check with them directly.

Anything. Absolutely anything, as long as it's Transformers-related!
This is the one design currently already on there:

I simply vote every Optimus, Megatron, Grimlock, Bumblebee or Starscream design a 1 unless the art really blows me away. Sorry but I just can't stand artists playing it safe on the same level that Hasbro does. The reason I'd pay more for expensive welovefine t-shirts is because Hasbro and other companies that work with them are unlikely to use similar designs themselves.
Dat one Nightbeat though.

Grimlock and Optimus Prime. Your favorite, constantly regurgitated bots that the fans love, oh so much. Of course someone will point out to me that an Arcee shirt got picked. Oh yes, a female Autobot on a t-shirt designed by a female. Of course it had to be there, because Transformers fans are going through their little 'feminist stage'. Granted, I did vote that shirt positively, if only because I figured Arcee was a better choice than the other common picks, as well as her being based on on her IDW design rather than geewun like every Optimus and Grimlock design.
Good job playing it safe.

Actually, a lot of the non-contest TF shirts are really awesome: The Star Scream, "Me HATE Push-Ups", the Mega Man/Megatron one (Robot Master)...

Tasked with the most boring choice possible and then expected to follow strict guidelines on even that.
Also Hot Topic's choice... That kinda takes the cake in terms of how badly this system was set up. Optimus category, Grimlock category, Hot Topic chooses one with both of them, then the winner by vote and runner up are both Grimlock... Yeah no flaws there at all.
