Usually how it works for me; see members are getting something, and get it within a week or so myself. Nothing in the box yet, today (though I might go back out again after while and check again), so I'll just have to keep watch in coming days.

But I'm not sure if I like the new head...
And I thought the combiner was supposed to be a Prime?

The combiner was supposed to be one of the original 13... though not all of The Thirteen were dubbed Prime (though many are). Nexus, I'm sure, is due to his cross-dimensional nature - five parts from, as I count it, 4 different universes (Skyfall and Landquake from the A/E/C universe, Breakaway from Classics, Topspin from some undisclosed universe, and Heatwave from Shattered Glass).
I agree, though - to me, he'll probably be Nexus Prime.

The new head reminds me of a combination of Piranacon and Beast Wars Quickstrike.

Hang on, they only ever promised a new combiner head not any other remolding. Next year, I am hoping for a new addition to Shattered Glass. Maybe Soundwave since he is in Heatwave's comic.

Well, TECHNICALLY (as I remember it), we were initially promised remolding on every toy... then when Skyfall came out, they promised remolding on everything else, since they couldn't work it in for that one... then when Landquake was released, they said they would try to get remolding on the other 2 limbs and body... then they kind of gave up, and promised at least a new head.

My first impression was that it's a throwback/homage to RiD Omega Prime... though I can see bits and pieces of other characters (like the two you mentioned) in it. Or more specifically, I *can't* refute anything, since the photo is so blurry.

Well, as I recall it, Skyfall was supposed to have a new head and then he didnt due to an explained combination of time and monetary issues, they then said that they would "try" to have remolding done on the others but that it was unlikely (because of the monetary concerns, not time ones) and, since Skyfall, I at least have not expected a remolded part on any of the limbs. We all, at the TFCC message board, were really pushing the "at least give the combined mode a new head" angle for a solid while, and that is what we got and all that I expected we would get after the very first "dissapointment".

To me it's just another negative for FunPub and in my eyes.

Shattered Glass Soundwave is already a toy. He is the White Soundwave MP3 Player that Takara released in 2007.

Actually, when he arrives on Earth he takes a body similar to Classics 2.0 Ironhide. He even wears a headband.

The only thing I'm confused about it is folding the front end up as it shows in the picture. I'm such a noob.
EDIT: Ok, I figured out the transformation and the combining of all five.
Personal note: I'm glad I got this piece. At first it reminds me of my gratitude for how simple G1 combiners were. And I still am because this combining technology to me is a conglomerated mess. The instructions did not show how to transform 3 of the appendages so I am assuming the publishers are relying on return customers of the original releases to remember how to do it.
My first attempt at putting Heatwave into it's torso component found me popping off the head piece. After a heartattack I realized it was made to do that in case of stupidity like forcing parts. I struggled for about 15 minutes figuring out each of the ligaments and then...voila!! I have a fully comvined Nexus Maximus. And w/ not as much harrassment of the piece to make it stand it stands very nicely.
I'm glad I invested $140 to get this piece (considering 2 years of membership and buying 3 directly from the Club). Now it's function is Desktop Decoration.

I see why...been wondering where that sig came from...now I'm not so sure I should have.
Mine came today. Robot mode back's a bit heavy, if I've got it right, but I'm happy with him.
Edit:

The gestalt I think is considered one of the original 13. At least it seems to be by Teletraan I.

Nope. but I won't worry until next week, customs will likely wonder about them if any agent is noticing a lot of them coming thru the post at once, so plus a day or two for that.

I never thought of that. My club stuff generally gets to me late-ish, I'm just getting anxious to put together this gestalt.

Im having Job Issues now
Complete lack of one
And the drop in our dollar value made joining the club this year super pricey back in March.I may not be able to rejoin next year (unless the announced figure is super badass enough to justify it...)

Mine arrived in similar shape. The toy was fine, but unfortunately the instruction sheet was missing
Anybody else ever have this happen with their club figure? And if so were you able to get a replacement from the club?
Also, I have a theory:
I just put together my finished combiner and I'm thinking that the club knew what they were doing when they named him after the vibrator... it totally explains his dido-riffic hands/feet.
According to the club comics this team is coming together because Primus has need of his chosen one (or some sh*t like that)
Apparently Primus is actually a woman and has need of a 'back massager'

OTFCC: Can we call it Nexus ??????? ?
Hasbro: Nope
OTFCC: How about ???????? Maximus ?
Hasbro: sorry not that one.
---skip ahead a few minutes passed other names---
Hasbro: hey why don't you take a couple of those and use... Here, how about Nexus Maximus?
OTFCC: That sounds decent enough, any problems with that name we need to worry about?
Hasbro: Not that we can see.
If only somebody in that room bothered to google that idea then and there......

I only joined to get a discount on the Universe Seacons. I just recycle the monthly Newsletter. What is the point of the Newsletter?
A free toy is cool, but other than the discount on the USeacons, I have enjoyed no other benefit. Why should I continue my membership?
How does everyone else feel about the club? Is everyone continuing with their membership or are you going to let it lapse?

DREWCIFER wrote:What is the point of the Newsletter?

Well TFCC does not do the Master Collector newspaper, they just have a business arrangement with them to carry the actual TFCC magazine stapled inside of it every other month. It looks like a comic book. If you haven't been checking for it, you've be recycling the majority of the awesome that comes with membership without even realizing it.
And yes, I'm continuing my membership. I finally joined last year for Nightbeat and will stay for the P/CP figure this year but even if the figure was crap, the magazine and forum access are still worth it to me. And the Botcon discount!

It's Heatwave that fails some...the NM head is too large by just a bit and as such, the backpack won't close properly.

Mine did. Snapped the surface the new head is attached to clean off the hinge. It goes back, but will never stay 'on' again. Damn plastic.
