I wish they would add ALL of the Beast Wars stuff to their Generations like. Since we got Rattrap and Takara has Rattle, I'm pretty sure we'll get Primal in the Voyager class at some point. A retool of Beast Hunters Darksteel would easily make a Silverbolt.

I feel like they're treating 15th anniversary Optimus Primal as "close enough" and they're going to hold out on another new mold until at least 2016.

Among the others I'd be pretty interested in... Scorponok, Inferno and Terrorsaur stick out. The later characters I care much less about, but I'd like to see the early lineup redone with modern techniques.
That aside, I'd still love to see the above with pre-beast-mode forms as well. They are all ALSO missing from the "Dawn of Futures Past" lot, too. (Well, save custom class Inferno, which was a great stab at the idea... albeit a little small.) Always glad to get some new DOFP characters... same for G2 Redux and Shattered Glass.

Except for that toy not being pre-beast Inferno (more like post-beast/Vehicon Inferno, actually).gothsaurus wrote:(Well, save custom class Inferno, which was a great stab at the idea... albeit a little small.)

I agree its an odd choice, the homage is to the motorcyle mode his (awesome, especially in grey) Transmetal form had, (although the deco is for his origin form) but it's not exactly the same

I doubt we'll get a new Primal toy; the original is getting re-released with an updated noggin as part of Takara's TF Legends line:

NACELLE
G2 STARSCREAM
KROK
CARZAP
TARANTULAS
SERPENT O.R.
Ranking these made me notice that there are only two new heads this round. Do you think the 7th figure gets a new one? (Given, we get Nacelle's wings, but that's from an existing mold.)
Hmmm. Out of 2.0, four had new heads (from three sculpts). From 1.0 we got three new heads, one of which was used at Botcon.
Hope we still get three new sculpts this year.

gothsaurus wrote:Okay, Seibertron... which do you prefer? Got a 1-6 ranking? Mine below for a grin. Bottom choices mostly for mold not being a favorite, and Serpent OR because I'm not a huge Joe collector. Still a spot on Serpentor and great idea.
NACELLE
G2 STARSCREAM
KROK
CARZAP
TARANTULAS
SERPENT O.R.
I think my preferred order is as follows.
#1 - KROK
#2 - SERPENT O.R.
#3 - G2 STARSCREAM
#4 - CARZAP
#5 - NACELLE
#6 - TARANTULAS
Krok is first because it just works really well. I love the Action Masters updates, plus the Arms Microns partnered with these makes them all the more impressive! Serpent OR is going to be a love or hate figure for most. It just works really well for me and is so out there that I'm excited about it. I'm torn on the next 3. G2 Starscream is OK ... I like him, but something just isn't right about it for me. Even the usage of the G2 Decepticon symbols is a toss-up for me. Part of me is happy they did it, another part of me wishes it used the G1 Decepticon symbols. However, had they used G1 I'd probably be frustrated that they didn't use G2. Carzap is OK. I'd be really excited about this had they found the G2 Windbreaker mold and actually given us the toy that didn't get made in 1995. Same with Nacelle. Had they used the Encore Starscream mold with the G1 Thrust wings, this would be a really unique figure to add to a collection, but using the Classics mold for the 31st (?) time as a character I could care less about that's slightly above a fan-fiction character just doesn't work for me. 3.0 Tarantulas is just a slap in the face to Tarantulas. He needed a new head for this to work! Tarantulas is just too prominent and awesome of a character to become a repaint of a Junkion background character.

Same here, but I'm a bit worried that the "mystery figure" will be a repaint of the Seeker mold. But since the 7th figure is supposed to come with a Micron, it could also be any combination of the other figures as a repaint. Time will tell!

Then you must feel the same about the Sunstorm, Bitstream, and Hotlink toys that we got at BotCon 2013 since Nacelle as a character is of the exact same origin/nature as those three, being a one-off generic Seeker from the G1 cartoon's first episode.Seibertron wrote:Same with Nacelle. If fact, the same would have to also apply to the likes of Acid Storm and any other generic from the G1 cartoon whose ever received their own toy.

Unreleased Seeker (Black seeker with red Dirge wings, since we can put red ramjet wings on Starscream ourselves. Heh.)
Shattered Glass Dirge (actually really want this. Yellow and black looks great on the mold, and it's been a while since we got an SG figure.)
Windbreaker (already have head sculpt)
Alpha Trion (from Scourge mold ala Takara contest)

You're missing my point. It has less to do with the name they put on it and more to do with what the toy is supposed to homage. Nacelle is an homage of a prototype that appeared in some early catalogs from Sears or Toy Fair. I'd rather have the actual toy of what was shown than have a toy that homages a prototype that we never received. Come out with that version first, then I might be more into this version.
Same with Carzap.

The character, not the name or the deco, but the character shares the same origin as the likes of Sunstorm, Bitstream, and Hotlink. All four came from a brief scene in the G1 cartoon's first episode:as a character I could care less about that's slightly above a fan-fiction character
Note that this pic is old, made before Nacelle's identity was confirmed, hence the lack of certainty on the arrow pointing to Nacelle.

What's a Transformers character without a name or a deco? Any obscure blob is just an obscure blob. Making that particular obscure blob an unreleased G1 redeco seems like a stretch. Especially when that unreleased G1 redeco is a mold that isn't the same as the other 3 visible Seekers.

Quoting Jelze doesn't negate the fact that a legends-sized Warpath exists...
...unless you're trying to say that since there's no Generations Warpath, it can't possible be the 7th figure since only the recent Generations Legends figures + partners are being considered for the 7th figure redeco?

My point is that they could have called him "Bob" or painted him solid dark blue instead of homaging the Seeker prototype, and he still would have been that same background character since that Seeker's existence is the whole reason behind their creating this toy. The Club made three of the four "Welcoming Committee" Seekers, and wanted to complete the team by making the fourth one. They just chose to give the fourth one some extras to make it super special and more worth purchasing.megatronus wrote:What's a Transformers character without a name or a deco? My point is the same as megatronus ... it's an extreme stretch. The others were a stretch too, but I'm not debating about them. Maybe it's the name "Nacelle" that bugs me, though after looking it up on dictionary.com it makes me feel a little bit better about the name. I dunno. Again, if this had been something special like an actual G1 seeker mold with Thrust wings, I'd be singing a different tune.

I get what you're saying, but I think you're emphasizing the wrong point. I don't think the reason for Nacelle's creation was that he was part of the welcoming committee... it seems the Club is trying, primarily, to homage the unreleased prototype (just like Carzap), but are also trying to give the homage more substance by shoehorning him in as part of the welcoming committee. To some that may come off as super special, but to me it comes off as meh.

I've seen those statements... I think I just misread your post to say a smaller Warpath simply doesn't exist.

1) Carzap
2) Nacelle
3) G2 Stsrscream
4) Krok
5) Tarantulas
6) Serpent O.R.
What can I say? I'm more into obscure things.
Carzap and Nacelle represent concepts that never came to be. Even though they're not exactly as originally promoted back in the day, I'm perfectly happy that they get at least some recognition and people get a see a glimpse of what could have been (if they're willing to dive into history that is). To be honest, a cross between Transformers and building blocks? I used to put my Protectobots among my Lego models, so Carzap tickles my fancy a lot, especially with Kre-O set. And between you and me, it's the colors of Nacelle that get me, not the name (which was "randomly" plucked from Exodus) or his bio.
G2 Starscream and Krok are, well... they could have been regular retail, possibly exclusives. Tarantulas... eh, that one's passable. I get what they were going for. But I have no real connection to G.I. Joe, so Serpent O.R. is on the bottom by default. I will acknowledge the creativity in the deco with the fangs, and the head, but nothing else.
Posted by gothsaurus on September 30th, 2014 @ 4:08pm CDT
And agreed about these being decent enough to be retail. Almost every one could have been a retail toy... except Carzap. He looks CRAZY!!! Love that we're getting it, though. Obscure is AWESOME.

I'm not much of a Joe fan, myself, but I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Devil's Due "G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers" crossover comics that inspired this Serpent O.R. toy. If for nothing else than the fact that these comics buck tradition from both series and choose instead to go off and do whatever crazy things they want. Cuz, darn it, they are so FUN!JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:But I have no real connection to G.I. Joe, so Serpent O.R. is on the bottom by default. I will acknowledge the creativity in the deco with the fangs, and the head, but nothing else.
You got Cobra finding the Ark and using the stasis locked Bots and Cons as superweapons in the first story, Joes/Cobra/Autobots time traveling to the past and future in the second story, Serpent O.R. the "Son of Megatron" wanting the Matrix to understand the nature of life in the third story, and Unicron coming to eat Earth as part of an ancient deal made with Cobra-La (the villains from the 1986 Joe movie) in the fourth story.
So much of this is so bonkers and insane that it's all such a delightfully awesome read. And since you like obscure stuff, that's the icing on an already deliciously-nerdy cake.

Hoping a legends Kickback is eventually on the way. Trio or nothing, Hasbro! And that FOC Kickback was embarrassingly bad. I loved 90% of the FOC line, but that one was so disappointing.
That said, too bad we never got a big version of Prime Hardshell/Bombshell. Like Animated Omega Supreme, that's one I will truly miss not having.

Pretty sure they'll be using one of the Targetmasters instead of an Arms Micron for the 7th figure.Tranzilla wrote:Diaclone Shrapnel (Shrapnel) w/ Manterror (AM Magi)
Wasn't there supposed to be a Bombshell coming out for Legends?
As for Legends Bombshell, he's a 2015 figure.

Doc Brown for the win!

LOL, my list is almost the complete reverse of yours. I think Serpent OR looks awesome - I'm only familiar with the character through the other posters here, but the concept is neat, and the mold seems to really suit the character.
