Transformers: Earth Wars Adds 35 New Collectible And Playable Bots

As many of you may know, Transformers: Earth Wars has been running for around 9 months now, and since the game began back in June of 2016, players were limited to only one faction: Autobot, or Decepticon. Well, players will now no longer be limited to just one faction!

Earth Wars has published its most recent update today that allows players for the first time to play as either Autobot or Decepticon! This means that all you good little Autobots may now play a bit to your darker tyrannical side, while the nasty cons can play a bit with their heroic side. The game allows players to unlock 35 characters from the opposite faction, though you cannot group bots and cons on the same team, and you can still only be in an alliance based on your original faction.

For the First Time, Players Are Free to Collect Transformers From Either Faction

Today, a brand new update comes to the real-time combat strategy mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars that allows players to unlock up to 35 new Bots. When the game launched in June 2016, players were required to join a single Transformers faction -- Autobots or Decepticons -- and assemble a powerful team to raid the opposite faction. Now, for the first time, players are not limited to choosing a side and are free to collect both Autobots and Decepticons.

With the new update, players can:
Choose to play as characters from the opposing faction from that which they first joined in PVP battles
Increase their team power and battle with up to 35 new characters in events
Enjoy the fact that the Transformers: Earth Wars game has the most playable characters in the franchise!

Transformers: Earth Wars is published by Backflip Studios (DragonVale, Ninjump, Paper Toss) and developed by Space Ape Games (Rival Kingdoms, Samurai Siege). The app brings the excitement of the battle between Autobots and Decepticons to mobile devices with fast-paced gameplay and beautiful 3D animation, allowing the characters to attack, battle, and change right before a player’s eyes. Space Apes cannot even get their own press releases right! There are 41 different 4* characters. Actually, it's 120 if you include 2* through 5* versions. They don't allow 1* opposing factions because you can't use free crystals to unlock opposing factions.

I like how it has that info, but then you click on the link to the wiki and doesn't explain anything except how leaderboards work.

New Characters

When your bots are becoming battle-worn, you can rely on Medics to step in and keep them on their feet. Prepare to make some room in your teams for new bots First Aidand Reflector.

First Aid (Medic)
Highly empathic, First Aid really feels for those he treats, and so works tirelessly to repair the seemingly endless damage caused by war. That laudable character trait makes First Aid slightly reticent in battle, but he knows that in the end if the Autobots don't fight - and win - the hurting will never stop for anyone, and so he struggles on.

Deploy Medibots - Deploy two Medibots, each with an ability to shield friendly bots blocking 40/45% of incoming damage.

Reflector (Medic)Three bots (Viewfinder, Spyglass and Spectro) in one, Reflector exists to observe, record and document - in other words, spy on people. He (they) love to find fault in others, and learn their weaknesses, so that he (they) can later exploit that shortcoming.
That said, in a crunch, six hands are better than one.

Reflector Team Up! - Summon Spectro and Spyglass, each with an ability to shield friendly bots blocking 40/45% of incoming damage.

Balancing Changes

We are always making adjustments in-game to ensure fairness and balance across all players. Please see the latest changes below which are coming your way on Thursday March 23rd.

Incendiary Barrage (Swindle/Sunstreaker) now displays approximate damage instead of duration (stats unchanged).
Whirlwind (Octopunch/Seaspray) cost reduced from 5 to 4.
Earth Shatter (Optimus Maximus/Bruticus) - Cast range increased by 1. Damage to walls increased by 16%.
Bruticus - Frantic Rage ability range corrected (was not matching Optimus Maximus).

FINALLY, a third medic! This should've happened ages ago back when extra squads first hit; if I was still playing this game I'd be over the moon right now.

Though young and untested, Optimus Primal soon rose to the challenge of leadership.

More down-to-Cybertron than his legendary namesake, and prone to stuffy speeches, Primal is nevertheless committed to the Maximal codes of honor and duty and is brave and selfless in battle.

But he is not above finding unorthodox solutions to problems - in his own words, "sometimes, crazy works".

Though fierce and ruthless like his namesake, and determined to further the Predacon cause whatever the cost, Megatron's true art lies in manipulation.

Why do yourself what others can do for you, is Megatron's credo.

Cunning, patient, Megatron orchestrates his vast schemes with the precision of a virtuoso. But his twisted sense of humor and overdeveloped sense of drama make him a little too fond of his own cleverness.

Next week our art team will give you an insight into the creation of the new bots and their transformations.

What's New

Our latest update rolls out next week to all players and includes multiple bug fixes and alliance improvements!

Beast Wars: A new series of characters and events, featuring story from TV show writer Simon Furman.
Alliance Improvements: Battle Replay channel and an additional Officer.
Bug Fixes:
- ‘Autobot Outpost’ text appeared for Decepticon players in some cases.
- Further reductions in overall memory usage to improve game stability on iPhone 6, iPhone 6+, iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 devices.
- Battle Replay results appeared the opposite way for other members of the alliance. Battle replays posted for a defence win appeared as an attack defeat when viewed by other players.
- Combiner timer no longer displayed in squad select for alternate faction.
- Camera movement is now correctly restored after a Combiner’s death.
- Bot behaviour improvements during battles.
- Players will no longer see the alliance war failed message when they have battle attempts remaining.
- All players can now see the Headquarters level 15 unlocked achievement.
