I mean, wasn't everything in this game already G1-esque? Like, since it was based off the toy designs of a G1-based toyline, and all, it's kind of redundant to have this event in the first place.

Also, Burn is super right. It had become a chore to spend all my time on this thing, especially on my already busy weekends. Worse yet? Some people have a very large, expendable income so even if I used all my power cells perfectly and worked the cooldowns perfectly, I wouldn't even make a dent in some of the higher performers. It kind of felt like ramming my forehead into a wall for seventy two hours and getting nothing but useless two star novelties for it.

I stopped playing some months ago cos out of the two transformers mobile games on my phone i only really wanted to have one of them and Forged to Fight has the movie bots I so much prefer over G1(esque) so making it even more G1 isn't gonna pull me back to it. Plus i far prefer a much closer view of robots smashing up each other so FtF is more my thing in other ways.

Exactly this. And Alliances were getting more and more competitive so you either spent big (and then only ended up with a 3*) or go away. Loyalty meant nothing to those with Trust Funds.

Good old Earth Wars. I got an email from them on the two year anniversary about free things, apparently I had removed the game from my device. I re-downloaded, and it was my temporary profile I set up after re-loading the game when the beta ended. Contacted customer support, they didn't get back to me until after the free stuff expired. So I have the correct profile again, just missed out on the goodies.

I forgot how much funds people threw in to this game. I couldn't keep up at all with Seibertron's team that I was on with Cobotron and carytheone. They left before I did, but ultimately I just said "So long, and thanks for all the fish."

It was fun at the beginning building a base and stuff, but unlike Sim City or The Simpsons: Tapped Out you can't just go on forever without throwing in a bunch of money.

The new event started. Turns out this G1 chip is basically a toonshader. It does not change the character modelwhen applied. It only gives it a toonshader. But enough about that.

I logged back in and there is G1 bgm playing instead of the Earth Wars bgm. Having a nostalgia trip atm.

I feel less annoyed now about the two chips I got being bots I don't have. Sigh.

I may be doing something wrong as you're the second person I've seen mention the different music - mine still has the same music as when I started playing three weeks ago!

New Transformers Characters SENTIUS MAGNUS and SENTIUS MALUS Roll Out in TRANSFORMERS: EARTH WARS September 14

Learn More During Livestream with Transformers Writer Simon Furman on September 6, 2018

On September 14th, Hasbro Inc. will add two new characters to the Transformers universe; say hello to the SENTIUS TWINS, SENTIUS MAGNUS and SENTIUS MALUS. Both characters will make their debut in TRANSFORMERS: EARTH WARS, the award-winning combat strategy mobile game available for free from Space Ape Games and Backflip Studios on the App Store and Google Play.

In the early days of Cybertron, the home world of the Transformers bots, SENTIUS NOBILIUS served as an honorable guardian of the relics of the PRIMES, the gods of the Transformers universe. To do this task he was given a sword of legendary power, the SWORD OF BALANCE, a blade with the power of creation and destruction. He was betrayed by one of the PRIMES, who, using his own sword against him, split his spark in two. This destroyed SENTIUS NOBILIUS, but created two new sibling warriors: SENTIUS MAGNUS, the guardian of light, and SENTIUS MALUS, the guardian of darkness. Each of these bots now carries one half of the sword, which was split. SENTIUS MAGNUS now fights for the Autobots, and SENTIUS MALUS for the Decepticons. Fans can get a sneak-peek at both characters by checking out today’s announcement trailer.

Transformers writer Simon Furman will be doing a livestream with Space Ape Games developers on Thursday, September 6 at 4:00 p.m. UTC, diving into the story behind the SENTIUS TWINS and providing a look at the characters and game update. Fans can tune in to the livestream by visiting: twitch.tv/transformersearthwars.

WHEW! Not the Bayniverse Twins.

Instead, it's...Roulette and Shadow Striker as male samurai who symbolize yin and yang. Sort of.

Sure, why not.

are they not just variations of IDW Drift?

Also.. a hero and a villain who each own one half of a sword. Wasn't that the Power Sword thing in the original He-Man mini-comics you got with the figures (before the cartoon ignored all that)

While the backstory is a little silly, I'm definitely down for more new blood in the franchise. Despite the overt samurai theme, their crazy tank-walker alt-modes could fit into the new WfC lines... maybe we'll get toys of them? Even if you don't like their particular backstory, they could easily be repurposed as cybertronian-mode Drift and Deadlock, or generic Circle of Light members. :-?

Did they just re-use the Cyberverse Shockwave mold for both of these?

Maybe new characters for SIEGE :-?
A Leader class figure called SENTIUS NOBILIUS that can split into two Voyager class sized figures.

But their transformation and alt modes remind me pretty much of the new Cyberverse SHOCKWAVEs.

So it's robot Hanzo and robot-ier Genji. And man, I too am getting tired of Samurai Transformers: it was cool when Bludgeon did it blatantly and Dinobot did way more subtly but after Windblade and Drift it seems like it's the cliche 'new cool kid we're supposed to like' gimmick. >:oP

That said, one of them has a bow which is a weapon which doesn't get enough love as a TF weapon, so I'd be fine with them getting figures in Siege, especially if they get reworked into Bludgeon and Banzaitron.

Yes, that is in fact a true statement. Whether that's a good or bad thing...remains to be seen, at this point. I do love me some Overwatch, but copy-pasting Overwatch character backgrounds/personalities onto new characters in other franchises does not inherently make me like those characters or make those characters good.

Skritz wrote:That said, one of them has a bow which is a weapon which doesn't get enough love as a TF weapon, so I'd be fine with them getting figures in Siege, especially if they get reworked into Bludgeon and Banzaitron.

I don't see a Shockwave-crab-walker-tank working for Bludgeon, honestly, given he's mostly just been a regular tank. Figures of these two could be cool though, and a Banzaitron repaint has potential since Banzaitron can't seem to stick to a reoccurring alt mode anyway. I think I'd only buy the Decepticon Malus version though, as Magnus and Malus seem like they'd just be repaints of each other, and they'd have to do some retooling on Banzaitron to convince me there. Regardless of what I do or don't buy though, I would be happy to see these two get Siege figures, as it would be more Generations figures of characters that aren't just the G1 cast again.

Overall, new characters are always welcome from my perspective, but they do still have to be good characters.
Re: Transformers: Earth Wars Limited G1 Style Characters Promotion (1982208)

Well, at least the good half gets bonus point for the bow as I mentionned: bows are criminally underused in Transformers and there is a logic to a samurai-themed Transformers using a bow, namely that the bow was the default ranged weapon of the Samurai. People associate them with the katana and its relatives, but Samurai were trained in a variety of weapons, including the bow and naginata.

Edit: I've thought about it and one issue I have with their design is that they are too similar. Yes they are twins but generally speaking in the franchise twins tend to share a mold but at least have some retooled elements. I think one place where they screwed up is that they should have designed his 'whole' first and given some elements of his design to one and the other elements to the other. Example, say that the whole has both a visor and mouth plate...one could have had a mouthplate and the other the visor.

I want new characters, sure. Drift, Windblade, Victorion... I had no problem with these. Strongarm, Velocity--all good additions.

These, however... they look dumb. I'm sorry. I hope they turn out to be cool, but my initial reaction is... "meh."

In game, though, I'm guessing these will be some sort of powerful weapons for either defending a base or attacking it. Still... meh.

Future, please prove me wrong.

I agree about bow usage being cool, but the little trailer video-thing shows both bots using bows though, so so far they're still basically identical other than one is good and one is evil and their paint schemes.

I really can't say that I'm too impressed by these new characters. As others have pointed out already, they're too reminiscent of those Overwatch characters Hanzo and Genji. I also feel like the whole "good twin, evil twin" thing has been done to death in other media. And can we please give it a break with the samurai TFs? There's starting to be an oversaturation of them.

I was referring to the whole cut-by-a-magic-sword-now-he's-two-guys-somehow: from all we know of TF lore across various continuities, the only instances of a spark being separated in two Beast Wars's Rampage/Protoform X whose removed half later powered Dinobot II. Now maybe I'm reading too much into the backstory of some crummy z-list game-only character but:
-Connected to the Primes (with a reference to the plural, meaning the whole host of the Thirteen, not just the Matrix-Bearer)
-Sword theme (In Aligned, Nexus took custody of the Star Saber, Cyber Caliber, Chaos Edge and Blade of Time)
-Cut with magic sword
-It magically make him two distinct entities
Across various bits of TF Lore, there's a lot of references to macguffin swords and Nexus Prime's sometimes-origin of being split into distinct components. So, it seem to me like the macguffin sword of the guy could have been tied to Nexus Prime specifically. Hence why he just poofed and became two distinct entities rather than, you know die. Because of Nexus' connection to separation and reconnection.

But that's all speculation on my part. >:oP

So, with that $92million in bookings, we're going to see some serious enhancements to gameplay (different modes, different base layouts, new ways of warring, etc.) any day now right?

Right?

Also, I know it's been harped on in earlier posts about this story, but the completely blah samurai look of these two is going to guarantee that they are forgotten into the dustbin of history in no time.

Don't get me wrong, people are going to find the characters important in TF:EW, if the gameplay mechanic we got to pilot is anything to go by. And maybe one day they'll even get a spidey crab tank toy ala Cyberverse Shockwave. But if you think these two are going to capture the imaginations of the fans I think SA should have handled them differently.

For starters, the hype was unreal (and maybe they're still building up to the rumored gameplay changes), and instead of launching Titans! Primus! Unicron! massive gameplay expansion! they were like Prime Core Guardians! :BANG_HEAD:

Now that the toy line is done hyping them, is anyone going to care about Prime Cores anymore?

I might be in the minority, but I think Transformers doesn't need any more new characters.

In the 30+ years of the brand this is a franchise that has thousands of characters, many of whom could be revisited and given some more limelight. I think there was someone that said these two are basically Roulette and Shadow Striker who could stand to return (maybe get some non exclusive toys)

I feel like this is a case where any time a new creator gets involved with some portion of the brand, they want to add to it with their own guy, make their own mark. I can understand that desire, I doubt there's anyone here who doesn't have at least one character they made up and would love to add if given the opportunity, but that's also why every new, hastily sketched character, is met with a "bleh".

Since a majority of players are able to play now after some fixes, we’ve decided to keep the event running. There will be a compensation on this coming Monday, 3rd of December, including 5* ShardsShanix Coins and Fuel Cells to storage that can be used in an upcoming event.

Don’t miss out this chance to try this new game mode and collect new currency:Shanix Coins to purchase some unique items such as Universal Combiner Sparks,Ore-13XP Power CoresPower Core Chips and 5-Star Optimus Primal or BW Megatron.

At a later point, the Raid Battles will find another place as a mid-week event, which will take place every Tuesday at 10:00 AM UTC to Thursday 10:00 AM UTC. This mode is still Work in Progress, we are working hard to make it happen as soon as possible! Stay tuned for more details for the midweek Raid events!

Read on for an in-depth view of what Raid Battles are and how they work in our WIki.

Be prepared to take on some giant and awesome defences!

A little late for the announcememt, because the weekend event showing the game mode off is already over XD, but don't worry about. I think the game mode is perfect for hardcore players and people who pay to play, but a little difficult for others.

I wouldn't say you have to pay to win--I did 77k worth of damage for my alliance in it (out of the 1 million total for the entire 40 players), but it is more hardcore requiring more strategy. I thoroughly enjoyed it as it has been the same ole / same ole for a while now.

Raid Battles Update

Image

Some of you might be wondering when Raid Battles are coming back?

We’ve been working hard to fix some bugs since the last Raid event and we are getting there!

If everything goes smoothly, the first midweek Raid Battles event will arrive in the Earth Ears next week from Tuesday, December 18th to Thursday, December 20th. If not, it will be postponed to the new year.

Prior to the first midweek Raid event, let us explain the difference between midweek and weekend mode.

In the mid-week mode, you won’t need to earn Energy cells to attack Raid bases, instead, at the start of the event, you will have enough cells to do 5 Raid attempts which will be the limit for each player in this type of event to try and dish out as much damage as you can within your limited attempts. So it will be definitely less grinding than the last Raid event. And most importantly, the prize will be Shanix Coins!

Upcoming Bots: Goldfire & Ramjet

Goldfire and Ramjet, Transform!

Have you watched last week’s live stream? If not, you’d better check it out as the team showed how Goldfire and Ramjet transform in the showroom!

Image

Winter Season has come to the Earth Wars!

There will be a special Campaign level later this week to get a taste of winter and play with some of the most popular 2018 Transformers!

Keep your eye peeled on the in-game newsfeed!

Balance Update / Bug Fixes

Here is the update on some bug fixes and changes.
    Error 2306
We are aware of players encountering error code 2306, predominantly seen during alliance wars when scouting or entering a battle. We have identified and fixed the issue which will be rolled out with the next update.

  • XP power core cost
The cost of Gold XP Power Core has been reduced to 1,000 from 1,500 Shanix coins last Thursday. All players who purchased the core before then should have received 500 Shanix coins to match the current price.

From at some point on 20/12/2018, the following bot duplicates have a chance to drop the newest G1 Power Cores. So keep eye on the in-game newsfeed!

Each of these G1 Power Cores will give them a classic look and unique abilities!

G1 Grimlock & G1 Razorclaw: Increases the special ability damage and generates a shield which absorbs received damage.

G1 Ironhide & G1 Bludgeon: Increases the bot's health and gives the bot a chance to taunt nearby defenses.

G1 Hot Spot & G1 Tantrum: Generates a permanent protective shield that reflects damage back to the attackers!

The challenge battle will be available via in-game newsfeed to get a taste of these new G1 Power Cores.

Blazing Charge: Rush into combat setting buildings on fire and dealing damage to each of them over time. The effect will spread if the building is destroyed during this time.

Error 2306 Compensation

Image

Last week, we had an issue where sometimes attacking a base during an alliance war resulted in error 2306. This bug is fixed by now, but some of you were severely impacted in your alliance wars, at times being unable to win a war due to this error.

We tried to compile a full list of all players affected by this error, but due to the nature of it, this turned out to be not just extremely complicated, but impossible. Instead of the desired exact and targeted compensation, we have to settle for the next best thing, a promo code for everyone. We know it’s not the ideal scenario, but we also wanted to give you at least some sort of compensation.

Please use below link to claim your compensation of 10.000 Spark. The code is valid until 26th of December 2018.

https://deeplink.me/transformersearthwars.com/?promoCode=RAID2306
(make sure to close the game completely and then click on the link to claim the reward)

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding in this matter!

Raid Battles Update

Image

You might be wondering when Raid Battles event will be back? Don’t worry as they are coming back soon!

We’ve been working on bug fixes and improvements since the last Raid event and we are almost there!

The following improvements were added to Raid Battles feature:
  • You can check number of attempts done for each member in the alliance leaderboard
  • You can now attack a Raid battle straight from the scouting screen if the Raid base is available
And we have also fixed an issue where a player couldn’t see the alliance’s progress and would waste attacks on already defeated bases.

Hope you will enjoy the Raid event more with those improvements!

Image

Under investigation

Image

Here is the issue reported that we've been investigating:
  • Bots stuck on the spot in battle
We have identified an issue within the battle engine that can cause bots to get stuck on the spot. This issue is most prominent withCheetor/Blackarachnia, but have received reports of this occurring on multiple bots. We are currently working a potential fix for this.
This is just an example of the reports that we've received from you and we continue to work hard to improve your experience with the game every day.

We would like to thank you for your time and patience, and if you have any issues to report, please get in touch with us here: support@transformersearthwars.com. Alternatively, you can reach out to us in game via Menu > Community > Contact Support.

Bug Fixes

Image

The following bug fixes are coming to the game!
  • Raid base select not displaying correct zone status
During the midweek Raid event, some players were seeing an issue whereby the raid zone select window would display 0% for all bases, despite damage being done. This issue was caused by slow connection or dropouts when loading the data. This issue has been resolved by adding a short load check before the zone data is displayed.

Here is the issue reported that we've been investigating:
  • Huffer/Lockdown ability change

Bug Fixes

Image

The following bug fixes are coming to the game!
    Springer/Astrotrain ability stuns combiners
When used on defence, Springer/Astrotrain’s ability would stun combiners if the projectile targeted it. Combiners should not be stunned under any circumstances. This has been addressed and will be fixed this week.

  • G1 Prowl/Brawl affects other gunners rockets
If another bot triggers Rocket Barrage in the same squad asProwl/Brawl with their G1 core equipped, they would also set the targets on fire. This core should only set on fire the buildings struck byProwl/Brawl rockets. This fix will be implemented next week.
