Scalpers. Each Leader case is one G1 Megs and one Arada Megs per case. People keep buying one and leaving the other.RiddlerJ wrote:Why is G1 Leader Megatron so rare? Shortpacked? Scalpers? LUPUS? IS IT LUPUS?

Scalpers? Why not just regular collectors?

That's what I was thinking. Are we seeing stores flooded with nothing but a dozen Armada Megs somewhere? Most I've seen is two cases worth of figures on the shelf at a time, nothing that would make me thing the two missing G1 Megs were scalped and not bought by collectors. I keep finding lone Voyager Primes, too. I guess the scalpers keep buying the Silverbolt figures.

Yeah I don't think G1 Megs is getting scalped around here either. Only ever 1 or at most 2 lone Armada Megatrons on the shelf, and those sell reasonably fast too (for leader class figures). Just more collectors than there are stock, and not enough stock to feed the scalpers so they haven't bothered (yet).

As for Leader Megs, he was on Hasbro.com not too long back, with a shipping date of 4/20 at $44.99. I used free shipping and the 20% off coupon, and got him for around $36. He just came yesterday in the mail, and is hanging out with my other Lost Light figures.

If you buy them all up in an area it makes that figure 'rare' and 'hard to find' so you can hold on to them and try to rip people off online. Or store employees are keeping them hidden in the back (this happens more often than you'd think).

He's a very cool figure, probably the best-looking deco of that mold. I got mine off of eBay awhile back since, at the time, it was a cheaper price than what Amazon was selling him for, and it included free shipping. Though, I didn't pick him up specifically to use as Budora, but instead to use as the Star Seeker Thunderlane from the TCC journal entries written by Tornado on his Facebook, which was an official repurpose of Budora by the Club.william-james88 wrote:It was mentioned on the podcast that Transformers GO! Bodora was very cheap on amazon so I took a look. Not only is he currently 23$ but the shipping to canada is free and I dont get any taxes imposed. It was a no brainer and I took it. These are basically Lena prices for a brand new item in box. If anyone cares, here's the link.

It IS a nice deal and he does have a new head and a shiny coat of paint. However, I already have the Target Exclusive version of the mold (Darksteel) and I'm not a fan. The quality feel cheap-ass as fawk and nothing properly lock into place. I'll have to watch a review to see if the mold's issues are fixed for this version.
...
Okay, I saw a review, and meh... For 23$CANADIAN I would have been tempted... a bit. But in US$, nope. I really don't like the mold enough to indulge.
Thanks anyway, and keep an eye open for some more deal! I know that eventually, you will find something that I truly can't resist. Hey, it already happenned with big Convoy so fingers crossed for future findings1

Turns out he was only 21$US, so 26$ Canadian, which probably wont get taxed at customs (low value and comes from Japan) and includes shipping, so just a little less than half what we would pay for a new Grimwing in stores. Speaking of Grimwing, I do have him, so because I am getting this guy, he is now on Kijiji for the price I bought him off Rodimus (just to be fair and to sell him quickly).

Grimwing had a very, very ugly color scheme to begin with. that's why I bought Darksteel instead. Plus, he was 20$ instead of 30$. However, I despite the mold. He will be thrown into storage. Another I always refused to buy, no matter how great the repaint or the deal is BH Skystalker.
One BH repaint of the go line that wouldnt mind owning is Predaking and Razorclaw's. I'll just have to keep my eyes open for more deals.

Close but no cigar. It was actually a TOY-SWAP that I bought. I really hoped it was a Beast Wars figure inside. Instead, it was just a piece of garbage. I DID manage to return it. And even at 5$ I didnt want to buy the real one.
BTW, if you happen unto some Beast Wars lot for cheap, I could trade you some stuff for it. I kinda devlopped a liking to the beasties.

I still feel the burn by that lost gamble.
BTW, please do look out for BW stuff. You are a way better Kijiji hunter than me and you know your BW stuff.
I think you could use a RiD Scourge or Nemesis Prime with armor at some point.

Heck, I went out and bought it brand new. I didn't wait for a ridiculous sale or a bunch of coupons. This is a steal for a good movie.
But, to each their own. *shrugs* I'd go and see it in theaters again if it were playing.

Yeah, I want to buy the movie so much, I camped for a week at the store's entrance for the release day|||
...Or not.
Will, you are being a bit too generous. I will wait for the 5$ bargain bin.
I will buy it, for collection's sake, but only when it will be in desperate clearance.

My situation is a double whammy; I both want it and don't have the space. Off to the storage unit he'll go, I suppose.
Keep reminding yourself it's hollow.
Is that a point against it (not as much plastic as you might want) or for it (it's hollow, so stick some other toys in there!)?
Depends on how you look at it. You can't put toys in it, and for the original retail price it's made of vinyl and has no heft to it.
