Without further ado, here is a link to the official teaser trailer on the Seibertron.com YouTube channel:
We get to hear Peter Cullen as Optimus prime and Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal who spends quite a bit of time in his gorilla mode with only a brief look at his robot mode at the end. That goes for the other 3 maximals in his movie (Rhinox, Airazor and Cheetor) who are seen more in their alt modes, at least in this trailer. We also get a very good look at Mirage's robot mode and his power which does have a G1 theme to it. We also see Arcee and Bumblebee very well. We get to see the shot of Arcee hanging onto Wheeljack's van alt mode which was previously shown to industry insiders.
The villains are less obvious in this trailer though we do get a good look at Battletrap in both of his modes. You'll let us know what you think!

Primal looks like Beast Machines Primal with Prime's head superimposed on it.
Every single one of these character designs looks like a fan edit speculating who will be in Age Of Extinction from 2013. Optimus has the proportions of someone speculating what evasion mode Optimus would look like in robot mode.
The textures and shading on the models look unfinished.

Also, while I know they are being purposefully ambiguous about this film linking to previous ones I don't see any casual fans or simply fans of movies in general thinking this wasn't Bayverse, just another story within whatever the live action continuity has become.

People online are saying that's Scourge in the photo you posted, but that head looks the same as battletrap's and I thought Scourge was supposed to be more "spiky" with big exhaust pipes coming out of him.

It is Scourge, but it's kinda weird how he goes from this big boxy truck to a Lockdown-esque super thin robot mode.

Kids didnt look like they actually got wet from Primal. Cheetor is way too big (maybe his toy will be like the huge beastmachines version ). Arcees face is ass and her coloring odd choice. Primes face is only a slight bit less ass. Not Mirage transforming just so he wasnt facing backwards could have been genius if it squished what is some what likely to be annoying acting human inside but just seems odd (it looks like he killed the cop chasing him anyways yay for 'live action autobots')
As long as some of the toys are good i'm not really bothered how the film pans out in all fairness -though I am expecting it to ruin beastwars characters.
On a positive note, looks like Rhinox ate some beans....

Remember that the film doesn't release until June, this is just a teaser trailer so the CGI is unfinished.

Cheetor will be much bigger than he's usually depicted. He gets a voyager toy while most autobots are getting deluxe toys.
I don't think the film will ruin anything. The films havent ruined anything so far, the brand is as strong as ever, they just bring more attention to characters and create more fans, so I'm always here for that.
On a completly unrelated note, i'm really not over that Scourge design, it's so different than what I pictured and just looks so plain and generic. Reminds me of the destroyer from the first thor movie.

In the next frames the same shot is taken from further back and you can see Battletrap standing off to the side with what looks like Prime laying on the ground.

We had a pretty good idea of how big some of these guys would be when the listing for the figure range was leaked and Cheetor was listed as a Voyager.
Didn't you know those water barriers aren't fatal in movies?
Whirlkick wrote:Remember that the film doesn't release until June, this is just a teaser trailer so the CGI is unfinished.
The film was supposed to be released last June, filming completed in 2021, this is likely the final CG.
My real issue is that the Beast bots are in serious need of some color. You've got the Autobots who are all colorful, but then Primal is just a big black gorilla that turns into a big black bot with some mud smeared on him. The others in beast mode are so monotone and based on what we've seen of the Airrazor figures their bot colors probably wont be much different. That's how they often color Decepticons, the good guys should be more interesting to look at.

Keep in mind that I really did like Bumblebee, but I still dont think I've fully recovered from the dumpster fire that was TLK. So call me skeptical still.
Also, while the Maximal cast has been known for a while, why do I feel like the decision of who to include was made in about 10 seconds...:
Looking at an old Mainframe pic of the S1 BW Maximal cast:
Optimus Primal Gorilla - "ok"
Rhinox/Rhino "ok"
Cheetor/Cheetah "ok"
Rattrap "pass - too small"
Dinobot "pass - too *Jurassic Park*"
Tigatron "pass, we already have a Cheetah"
Airrazor /Falcon & Female "oh definitely, we need her"

I truly love the designs here; the Maximals look great, and it makes sense that they’re full sized Cybertronians, not actually animal sized. That could work in another setting sure, but I think the smart choice was made here. I’m especially loving Arcee; she retains her core look as we saw her in the opening of Bumblebee, but she incorporates both G1 elements and her original Bayverse design. Hope they do the same with Wheeljack!
Ultimately, it’s not going to be an award winner, but I have faith it’ll follow in the vein of what made the Bumblebee movie attract an audience after the dumpster fire of TLK.

-Mirage and the brief from-behind look at Wheeljack are both disappointingly generic-looking, which is odd since Optimus, Bee, and Arcee are so similar to their Bee movie designs
-Car chase scene is always fun and it's cool to see Mirage do Mirage things, but didn't we just do a run from the cops scene in Bee?
-Prime has Dropkick's cannon now, instead of the ion blaster from Bee?
-Damn the Beasts are large, that explains some of the size classes for the Studio Series stuff
-Scourge's face appears to straight-up be the Terrorcon logo but with a goatee, which is cool, although I wonder if this scene is before he scans his alt mode or if his design isn't fully reflected in this trailer based off the lack of kibble
-Guess we've got generic soldier bots again, seeing those shapes falling down that hillside and all the bots charging at the end
-The Maximals basically just doing flips and transforming is very OG Beast Wars, that Cheetor handstand was fun
-Nightbird can fly? Or is that not Nightbird? EDIT: Whoever it is has at least one tire sticking off them, so it is probably Nightbird
-Not seeing this "Scourge's face looks like Battletrap's" thing, seeing as how Battletrap's got a big glowing visor face?
-Oh great, Prime's faceplate isn't his default again
Overall reaction: Mixed.
Also, with that casting stuff:
-Stratosphere being a real boy courtesy of the new movie was not something I was expecting, but I'm on board
-Maybe "Reek" is that "Crescent" skunk-bot we keep getting RotB toyline listings for? EDIT: "Reek" is apparently a human character, which....oh boy

Anyways, this quote from a fan over at TFW made me chuckle:
I wish Transformers was bigger than Sonic so we could kick up a stink about Wheeljack not being Wheeljack despite him looking accurate in Bumblebee.

The Airazor toy leak was disappointing, I liked the kid design better, so my hopes were lowering after the revelation. But I see some good stuff here.
Rattletrap still has the head of a giant robot anime character
Optimus Primal´s beast mode is a little off, but I can get over it. Thank God it´s not like the mask! Robot mode is...interesting...but lacks iconic details in favor of being big and buff for some reason.
Mirage is interesting, now I can see the reason for his name. Still looks like Jazz in both modes, and I will insist on calling the toys Jazz for this exact reason. Mirazz?
Arcee is almost there. I prefer the car alt mode but a motorcycle is livable as long as she still resembles G1. Pretty good robot mode, though I wish they dropped the red in favor of more barbie pink and cleaned the face a little (Though it is much better than the bumblebee movie Arcee face)
Is Cheetor is a little on the fat side, or is it just me?
Didn´t see Rattrap, maybe he was too small to notice, and not enough shots of Airazor.
Optimus still good, but I´m tired of the movie bumblebee-LET HIM DIE
Rhinox´es mouth cannon is hilarious
Hope I left no one out
Over all this gives me a slightly higher opini-onion of the new movie, though it could be a little better.

Odd that the one time we get a Porsche it's not Jazz, but I guess he died in 2007.
Primal looks interesting.
Wheeljack is uhm... different. Not sure what I think if a VW Bus.
Rhinox looks very cool.
Arcee is pretty good in Robot mode.
Cheetor is a bit too buff, unless whatever was running next to Bee was not Cheetor.

The Movie is set in the 90s so Jazz was available to use. Still the writers might not have cared to use him, putting the spotlight on someone else.

I like the designs for the Maximals. Obviously the movie will try to sell their toys.
The Cons look like a mess as usual.
I'm used to Prime looking subpar by now, so whatever.
I really liked that shot of Cheetor running next to Bee.
It's visually enticing for sure.
I'm pretty sure the story and the acting will be subpar as well.
They definitely should have gotten Garry Chalk, unless he himself refused the role.
F**k Ron Perlman. Inferior voice actor, garbage human being.
I might catch this on streaming in I'm bored enough.

For starters, Primal is the star of the movie so far in my eyes. Perlman already is showing a much better performance than PotP, he sounds much more natural in the role. And the CGI on Primal looks good. I love his design.
The Beasts all look good, I like the beast machines/live action filter applied to the beasts, I am excited to see more of them in action.
Mirage looks like he'll have some degree of prominence. I loved that scene of the holographic duplicates, and his transformation seemed fun.
Arcee has a nice look, I like the update for the bike mode, and her visor and that last shot of her giving the "hiya" wave were good looking.
i want to see more of Wheeljack, my wife loves VW buses, and I want to see more after seeing a shot of his back.
Bee looks good, though that transformation shot looked a bit unfinished. I'm happy to see him with door wings again, a classic that I love.
I like Prime's design a little more now, though the area between window boobs and knees still looks odd and I don't like it. I like his new gun (even if it looks like Dropkicks), and I like that they gave him the 2007 face again. The faceplate mask-up scene was good looking too.
Battletrap looks good, glad to see him around a couple times.
Scourge is the one thing that I don't know how to feel about. Given his truck mode, I was hoping he'd have a more muscular look instead of that lanky look he has.
The other thing that bothers me: when Primal splashes around, nothing but him gets wet. That irks me. Hopefully the CGI is improved over the next several months, but this is also the first film not to use ILM, so we are going to be testing some new CGI with this movie. Hopefully it doesn't suck.
But overall, very positive, I am excited, it blends all the live action movies together pretty well from first appearances, and I am excited. Wife even said it looked interesting and fun, and she is not a TF fan.

Yeah, I get that somewhat. Glad to see that the more panels-and-colours style of Bumblebee are largely retained over the earlier Bayverse spaghetti monsters(!), and the Maximals especially look great in beast mode. Robot mode perhaps not so much IMO - Cheetor running alongside Bee looks great but his proportions look basically like everyone else's after the cool flip, and I could barely tell that Primal had actually transformed in that rolling attack. (And I will never not be salty that that Porsche isn't Jazz!)
Still, cautiously optimistic, as Bumblebee was much better than expected and honestly the only one of the live action films I've enjoyed.
Posted by Deadput on December 1st, 2022 @ 8:36pm CST
CGI looks rough but so did AOE's initial trailer, won't judge it till closer to the movie/final film, but the actual contents of the trailer do look exciting.
What irks me is people (on other sites) saying Mirage stole Hound's powers when in reality Mirage's original bio had his powers be more like this than purely invisibility, it's simply the cartoon that went with the invisibility interpretation to presumably be less similar to Hound.
Oh and also the traditional whiney posts (people can express their criticisms without being obnoxious) but that's par for the course in fandoms.

I was a bit let down by that too, it didn't feel like much of a transformation and you don't get a clear sense of the bot mode. Not the big splash the movie seems to be aiming for as a trailer finale.RodimusPrimeUkraine1 wrote:Is Cheetor is a little on the fat side, or is it just me?
They are taking from all aspects/versions of characters. With Cheetor, he takes quite a bit from his Beast Machines form, which was very bulky at the top in some depictions.

Anyways it's nice to see David Sobolov get a presumably more notable role after Bumblebee with the brief but good performance he had as Blitzwing.
