Thanks to fellow Seibertronian and podcaster xRotorstormx, who resides in Michigan and owns her very own Bumblebee Camaro to blend in with the locals, we have some more images from the set and the pit-stops along 96. Including the already seen characters and vehicles, from Optimus Prime to Hound to Crosshairs and the generic military vehicles - plus the addition of a new brown MG car being towed around. My speculation engine suggests a Hopkins presence for an old British make of vehicles, but it's your turn to gives us some thoughts on this new possible Cybertronian. Take a look!

That is not totally out of the question, sadly.

And why do we need 4 shots of the same vehicle from the same distance and angle? 1 is enough.

We news what images we get. Sometimes the images are repeated, and the person newsing is tired and didn't catch that they were effectively the same.

Remember this rumor?

Three new Transformers characters will feature, with a generic British background/accent: The Creator, an Aston Martin Cogman, a Vespa Squeaks

We already got Squeaks, and that isn't an Aston Martin, so could this be the Creator if it's a Transformer at all?

A few more pictures I was able to snap. Didn't have my camera on me unfortunately (went right from work) and they were not letting people get much closer because these trucks were all parked at a local business that they were utilizing.

In one of the previous shots, you can see them loading up a second Crosshairs into a car carrier. I had just pulled up as they were loading Bumblebee in (bee on the lower deck and Crosshairs on the top deck).

Second crosshairs hiding behind the trucking company's garage:

Thought about it and I feel like my only grievance with the Hot Rod design is the minimal use of red and lack of use of yellow. Kinda the trademark of the character I feel. My issue is just with the coloration though. I just hope the characterization isn't like how he became in the original cartoon with the whole "lol, I destroyed a planet. Oh well! I'm still unsure of myself!" mindset he had. Simultaneously I hope he isn't shoe-horned in as a replacement for Optimus either, but I doubt that will happen again myself.

to summarize:

Onslaught: cool by me!

Hot Rod: ehhhhhh.... but if that is Hot Rod, then where is Drift? since it was thought that that car was Drift's new alt mode

Drift is a new Mercedes.

Hot Rod appears to be a Lamborghini or something else (the tiny badge on the chest). Same colors though...

I'm going to say that the old and rusted small van guy (can't remember the vehicle's name) with the large Decepticon logo might be referred to as "Breakdown", and this new vehicle reminds me a WHOLE LOT of Downshift.

Like I said it does look great not saying it's bad.

Just saying it might not look great onscreen in those colors in the same vein as how red used to be an awful color for filming things which was actually why they gave Prime flames back in 2007.

Following the reveal of Hot Rod for the new Transformers Movie, we bring to you our latest character reveal, that of Drift in his new paint scheme! Drift appears to be using the same robot mode as in Age of Extinction, but this time in a red paint scheme. This is significantly different from Hot Rod in that he is almost entirely red instead of just red highlights on a mostly black frame. Check out the new image below for the honorable warrior, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your latest Transformers news and galleries!

What does "History: No longer in hiding" mean
I mean I get what it's trying to say but it's really awkward

In any case red is cool. Like I said when the car mode was revealed, probably trying to bring it closer to the RiD 2015 cartoon design.

Huh, interesting. It's still very... questionable to me why they went with a prototype colour scheme for RiD 2015 rather than matching either IDW or Movie, but that's a discussion for another time and isn't an actual flaw or anything. Just weird to me.

Hips aside, the Deluxe AoE toy was pretty fantastic, and it was both faithful to the alt-mode and the animation model. Lots of armor in bot mode, and a great looking car.

Even setting that aside, Grimlock is at least as big a character as Hot Rod, if not bigger. He was a significant character in the pre-Movie G1 cartoon, and and even bigger player post-movie. He got a Masterpiece toy before Rodimus. He was in the recent High Moon games and Devastation when Hot Rod wasn't. He is in RID (or at least a character based on him is) when Hot Rod isn't.

Michael Bay has been putting the absolutely ugliest and goofiest faces on to these Transformers' characters. The faces don't look like Transformers to me but some hideous organic-nightmare. The character designs need more attention to the faces and make them look like Transformers, you know, actual robots! This is movie 5 and Bay has YET to get this right. WHY do they keep making money when they are "Blasphemy" to Transformers? :HEADHURTS:  :-(

I think his point is that generally the public likes robots that look like robots, and not mishy mashy alien creatures made of metal. Ex. Pacific Rim, Iron Man, or Ultron. One only has to look at how Marvel has updated its corny designs (looking at you Cap, Falcon and Hawkeye) into the badassery that we know and, personally speaking, love. It stuns me that the studio and designers behind the TF movie franchise haven't even once done that (taken a classic and honored design and updated it without actually changing that much, case in point: Thor)

You guys do clearly know these are not his actual colors right?

Something got screwed up with the coloring in fact it's given me a theory Hot Rod and Drift have their colors switched somehow for these posters.

Drift from facebook
Image

Drift's alt mode from Bay's Flickr
Image

Hot Rod from Bay's Flickr

Image

So why does Hot Rod have the same colors as Drift's altmode despite the Lamborghini car parts while Drift has a red robot mode which has colors usually associated with Hot rod

So what is the most likely scenario that the colors are switched up on the posters or that Hot Rod is the same color as Drift's car mode while Drift turns into a completely different color pallet in robot mode?

Use logic sometime people I know it's the movie thread and we scream our butts off over everything but please think.

Why does EVERYTHING need to be based off the original source? This is a sore spot for me. Just because it's not based off the source material makes it bad. Is all the designs good? Heeeeell no. Personally, I thought Starscream looked absolutely ridiculous. I do appreciate, though, that the creators are still taking the time to come up with something new with old characters. People like to complain there's nothing original anymore, and awhile the movies are not original, it's nice to see them trying to do new and original. It's annoying to see people get so worked up over how "it's nothing like the original". I think that's the point.

And don't get me wrong. I loved the original designs for G1 characters. Optimus Prime was just awesome. Simple design that felt like a leader of a robotic race that could convert into a semi truck.

Welcome to Paramount we are not Marvel studios or Disney the richest company in the world who has somehow not bought Hasbro yet and improved it.

Seriously thought we would benefit from Disney's help in making these movies.

Probably they don't want to worry about another toyline. Additionally, how would the public react to Transformers going from CGI laden, raunchy humored, and ultra violent to Marvel/Disney level cleanliness? People wouldn't know what to do without their racially offensive characters, Baysplosions, hot babes, and college pothead level humor.

My opinion, hope this expanded universe idea burns out and give it another decade for another company to buy Hasbro.

I like that not too much has changed for drift outside his alt and colour scheme.

Madeus@ remember just because you don't like the movies doesn't mean you get to forget all the people who do like the movies (I'm talking all the people on this spectrum, from those who see these films as a guilty pleasure to those who worship the ground these movies were made on)

It's fine for us to have opinions but not everyone will share them :-)

Another thing, I still don't see how these movies existence hurts the rest of the brand considering how far reaching it is. It also doesn't affect anything that came out before. So why not just accept these are a thing, not saying you have to like it or see it but it's certainly not going anywhere yet.
