That is not totally out of the question, sadly.alex1986lunatic wrote:I'm calling it. King Arthur will be a transformer in the movie...
And why do we need 4 shots of the same vehicle from the same distance and angle? 1 is enough.

We news what images we get. Sometimes the images are repeated, and the person newsing is tired and didn't catch that they were effectively the same.

Three new Transformers characters will feature, with a generic British background/accent: The Creator, an Aston Martin Cogman, a Vespa Squeaks
We already got Squeaks, and that isn't an Aston Martin, so could this be the Creator if it's a Transformer at all?

In one of the previous shots, you can see them loading up a second Crosshairs into a car carrier. I had just pulled up as they were loading Bumblebee in (bee on the lower deck and Crosshairs on the top deck).
Second crosshairs hiding behind the trucking company's garage:

No worries. Growing up, we had several of each in my household.

Hot Rod: ehhhhhh.... but if that is Hot Rod, then where is Drift? since it was thought that that car was Drift's new alt mode

Drift is a new Mercedes.
Hot Rod appears to be a Lamborghini or something else (the tiny badge on the chest). Same colors though...

Oh, I thought there was only 1 vehicle of that color. If there are 2 different ones now, it'll be fun to keep up with

Like I said it does look great not saying it's bad.
Just saying it might not look great onscreen in those colors in the same vein as how red used to be an awful color for filming things which was actually why they gave Prime flames back in 2007.

In any case red is cool. Like I said when the car mode was revealed, probably trying to bring it closer to the RiD 2015 cartoon design.

The RID scheme was apparently based on an early color scheme for AoE Drift.

Huh, interesting. It's still very... questionable to me why they went with a prototype colour scheme for RiD 2015 rather than matching either IDW or Movie, but that's a discussion for another time and isn't an actual flaw or anything. Just weird to me.

That's my deal with it. The car is mostly black, with red accents. How does he transform into a mostly red robot?

The car kibble gets flipped inside out. The last toy did it with the shoulder pads by folding the sides to reveal the inside.

Those don't count.
Why don't they count? You said Grimlock never bale and leader of the Autobots, were proven wrong, and then it doesn't count? What's your criteria? to count?
Because the general audience who were asking for Hot Rod to be in the movie don't care about the Marvel Comics. They probably don't even know they exist.

Hips aside, the Deluxe AoE toy was pretty fantastic, and it was both faithful to the alt-mode and the animation model. Lots of armor in bot mode, and a great looking car.

Even setting that aside, Grimlock is at least as big a character as Hot Rod, if not bigger. He was a significant character in the pre-Movie G1 cartoon, and and even bigger player post-movie. He got a Masterpiece toy before Rodimus. He was in the recent High Moon games and Devastation when Hot Rod wasn't. He is in RID (or at least a character based on him is) when Hot Rod isn't.

No, 'Transformers: Animated' did that.
I liked Drift's design in AoE and he looks even cooler here in the red. Glad to see him back (and I still find it odd to say positive things about a Transformer called Drift)

I think his point is that generally the public likes robots that look like robots, and not mishy mashy alien creatures made of metal. Ex. Pacific Rim, Iron Man, or Ultron. One only has to look at how Marvel has updated its corny designs (looking at you Cap, Falcon and Hawkeye) into the badassery that we know and, personally speaking, love. It stuns me that the studio and designers behind the TF movie franchise haven't even once done that (taken a classic and honored design and updated it without actually changing that much, case in point: Thor)
Posted by Deadput on August 6th, 2016 @ 1:35am CDT
Something got screwed up with the coloring in fact it's given me a theory Hot Rod and Drift have their colors switched somehow for these posters.
Drift from facebook
Drift's alt mode from Bay's Flickr
Hot Rod from Bay's Flickr
So why does Hot Rod have the same colors as Drift's altmode despite the Lamborghini car parts while Drift has a red robot mode which has colors usually associated with Hot rod
So what is the most likely scenario that the colors are switched up on the posters or that Hot Rod is the same color as Drift's car mode while Drift turns into a completely different color pallet in robot mode?
Use logic sometime people I know it's the movie thread and we scream our butts off over everything but please think.

And don't get me wrong. I loved the original designs for G1 characters. Optimus Prime was just awesome. Simple design that felt like a leader of a robotic race that could convert into a semi truck.

Welcome to Paramount we are not Marvel studios or Disney the richest company in the world who has somehow not bought Hasbro yet and improved it.
Seriously thought we would benefit from Disney's help in making these movies.

Probably they don't want to worry about another toyline. Additionally, how would the public react to Transformers going from CGI laden, raunchy humored, and ultra violent to Marvel/Disney level cleanliness? People wouldn't know what to do without their racially offensive characters, Baysplosions, hot babes, and college pothead level humor.
My opinion, hope this expanded universe idea burns out and give it another decade for another company to buy Hasbro.

Madeus@ remember just because you don't like the movies doesn't mean you get to forget all the people who do like the movies (I'm talking all the people on this spectrum, from those who see these films as a guilty pleasure to those who worship the ground these movies were made on)
It's fine for us to have opinions but not everyone will share them
Another thing, I still don't see how these movies existence hurts the rest of the brand considering how far reaching it is. It also doesn't affect anything that came out before. So why not just accept these are a thing, not saying you have to like it or see it but it's certainly not going anywhere yet.
