The first bit of news to mention is that Transformers: The Last Knight is available on DVD and BluRay today at retail, as shown by images taken by Scottimus Prime below.
The second piece of news, and one that is very interesting, is that the Target exclusive DVD release of The Last Knight includes the Machinima Combiner Wars Series! This is quite the unexpected surprise, though fans of the Machinima Combiner Wars series will enjoy the news that the series is making it to DVD in some fashion. You can find the whole article HERE.
Check out the images below, along with the official Transformers Advertisement email for the release!
Some very cool news for Transformers fans today! Not only is Michael Bay‘s Transformers: The Last Knight now available on Blu-ray and DVD, one special bonus feature is going to include an excellent animated series. The catch is that it’s only going to appear in one particular place.
Through a deal with Hasbro, Paramount, and Target, Machinima’s Transformers: Combiner Wars animated series, which garnered more than 125 million views worldwide when it was released on go90 last year, will be available as an extra feature on the bonus disc for Transformers: The Last Knight DVDs sold at Target, available now.
The bonus feature is part of the lead-up to the launch of the second part of the Combiner Wars saga, Transformers: Titans Return, which debuts on November 14th and welcomes Peter Cullen, Wil Wheaton, Judd Nelson, and others to the voice talent.

And that's not just my opinion. The series was universally panned by just about every right-minded individual over in the show's thread.
The only good thing about the series was its depiction of Megatron, who was genuinely delightful, funny, and entertaining to watch that it's astonishing that a show so bad could have such a likable Megatron.

There's regular DVD plus digital, blu ray and DVD and digital, 4K Ultra and blu ray and dvd and digital, 3D blu ray and blu ray and digital. The Steelbooks I saw were blu ray and DVD and digital, and 4K Ultra and blu ray and dvd and digital, but they were all sold out of the 4K Ultra steel books.
I got the 3D version because I'm one of the few nuts left out there (or is it left nuts out there?) that loves 3D movies. It wasn't easy to get though. So far only Best Buy has it and the one local to me didn't get their shipment, so I had to drive a little ways. Bummer they didn't have a steelbook version with the 3D, but I'm only buying a movie once if I can.

Man I gotta say that ain't true. I got a few movies on DVD that I picked up blu ray copies of later, and they look seriously better in blu ray, even with my bad eyes. Maybe you just got a bad TV?

Combiner Wars is truly terrible, read the comment above for more explaination.
Here's mine in short:
1. Too damn short
2. 1 frame per second (look up fps), watches like sh*t
3. Animation models are very simplistic
3. Combiners don't combine, they're just big robots
4. They die easily by a deluxe
5. Fights are lame (like you would see a 6 year old play)
6. I didn't know what the hell was going on, but I only watched it 1 time with expectations so scrap this one.
Go watch Armada or rewatch Prime.

I thought it was awesome! Of course there were parts where I rolled my eyes (or said "ugh" aloud), but for the most part (and thank Primus Simmons was back) I thought it was really great. For me, MUCH better than Age of Extinction. Can't believe it was 2.5 hours. It didn't feel like it. AoE was less than that (by just a few minutes) and took me three attempts to finish. That's saying something in my book.
One thing I could've lived without: "I stoppa the time!"

Nyeh, still not a really good reason. You want to build hype for a new series, not tie it with the first Transformers movie that really didn't do too well in any capacity and by extent tie in a bad series with a subpar movie
(note: I was ok with the movie. I'm mostly upset that the entire Bee/Prime fight was shown in previews, there was nothing new save the final few seconds/revelation of the outcome!!)

The Last Knight is one of the shortest Transformers movies, like the first and Age of Extinction is the longest of them all (sidenote)
I think The Last Knight is thé most disconnected from Transformers, and movies.

Well hey look at that, Age of Extinction felt so long because IT WAS!! Everything else was around 2:30 while that was 2:45!
Transformers (2007) 2h 24min
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) 2h 30min
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) 2h 34min
Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) 2h 45min
Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) 2h 29min
It's funny but I felt that way about AoE that you feel about TLK. Crazy stuff. AoE has grown on me, I think I was just expecting TLK to be terrible and I ended up being entertained! Maybe that was the deal, I had my expectations high for AoE and had them low for TLK.

itscramtastic wrote:I had my expectations high for AoE and had them low for TLK.
Haha, exactly.
When I saw the Age of Extinction trailers I was kind of confused, not really paying attention, I really enjoyed Dark of the Moon and thought TF4 would work out fine.
So I didn't get annoyed with all the flaws, sure the new Autobots were shallow as hell and the spaceship part was kind of boring.
But it started very dark with Ratchet (chills man), and then Optimus in the run with a non-child human. Then he loses his stuff and just attacks a facility.
I loved the Galvatron part.
So I did have high expectations for TF5, and the trailers made it even higher.
With a serious narrator, Cybertron in the air, A freaking man made ED209, evil Optimus Prime.
The trailers didn't show Anthony Hopkins mumbling, they didn't show Hot Rod do his stupid talking thing, they didn't show the Megan Fox stand in, the boring long England stuff. The endless drone fight.
They set a serious epic tone with more depth and we ended up with nothing but expositionary talk, Decepticons getting one hit killed like chickens, Tits and Ass (again), lame Autobot banter, super silly Decepticons.. blegh. There really wasn't a single part/scene I liked and then all the other bad parts weigh even more.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the trailer, it's my second most favorite Transformers trailer.
Nothing tops the Dark of the Moon trailer , but The Last Knight trailer really had me pumped.
Movie is terrible.

I didn't mind the Megan Fox stand in.

Meanwhile, I watched TLK a few days after release so I'd already heard a couple bad things about it, and nothing good. I wanted to be impartial so I was hoping I'd still like it (after all, most people hated AoE while I thought it was a step toward what I wanted from a Transformers movie), but even so my expectations couldn't have possibly been any lower. And yet.
And yet.
I came out of TLK let down, and for the first fifteen minutes afterward I just felt lethargic but after that I was angry. I've never come out of a movie angry before or since, so I guess TLK has that dubious honor. It's interesting to hear other people with the opposite opinions, and I'm glad you guys liked it! I guess for me, it just did something really wrong - something I still can't quite pin down honestly, but whatever it was I sure hope future Transformers movies avoid it, for my sake and theirs.

Pretty much sums my experience. I can't even comment on what I thought of the script because of how bad the editing and cutting was - there was no pacing to speak of whatsoever, everything just kept stumbling into the next scene. Frustration is the least bad of the feelings it elicited.

Still my husband and I enjoyed it, we watched it start to end, we could follow the story well. It might have been a little disjointed here and there, but all in all, much better than the 4th (we couldn't stay awake for that one) 1, 3 and 5 are good, 2 and 4 were meh... My co-workers also enjoyed it, I was talking to one the other day and he asked if I had seen it and he said it was great. To be honest, at this point, I'll take the reviews of a non tf fan over one of us anyway because: they aren't as jaded to one generation over another.
So great night, great cider, ghost pepper chips and a new Starscream + movie, best tuesday in a long time!

-Hot Rod was great! He so exemplary in his scenes, because every time he shows up we get to see a little more of his personallity.I didnt mind he that he as different from G1 self, the "chosen one" angle he had in the past wasnt necessary.
-Sqweeks was cute, but felt like belonged on the initial drafts of the script, because they way the interacts with the rest of the cast.
-The way the one of the kids flirts with Isabella was weird, and Viviane staring at the shirtless Cade was silly, but its was quick, and didnt ruin the movie for me.
-The people that say this movie has no plot have no idea what the're talking.I would argue this movie has too much plot!I would liked to have seen some more focus on some parts, but it was still fun.
-One of the things they need in the future is imporve their marketing, because some of things they teased didnt come to fruition.Like one of the offical synopses had the "rethink your heroes" hinting while Optimus became evil,Megatron would the good guy. While he did work wiht the humans he hadnt a change of heart yet.Kind like some the marketing for Age of Extinction implied the Dinobots would be the main focus.
-The action was great!I like all the different angles they chose take the camera shot.Nexus Knight wrote:So, finally finally saw the Last Knight. And... I have to say, it was actually kinda awesome. Based on the reviews and the box office performance, I thought this would be worse than RotF (which I sorta liked, but wouldn't watch unless rewatching the entire series all together). But... no. My father and I are in the agreement in the fact that it was the best of the series. I'm actually in some puzzlement of why it has been so panned.
Finally, a theory I had after watching the last scene. If Quintessa is supposed to be an evil minded character, why is she so gungho about killing the Chaos Bringer? Is there any reason to believe that this Unicron is evil? It's just a theory that's admittedly not too real thought out, but it would be interesting idea, anyways.
I was thinking about it recently, and still wonder, why she wanna destroy Unicron in the first place?Unicron horns wouldn't even appear if she hadn't flinged Cybertron against Earth.Unicron didnt do anyhting wrong yet.
-The Transformers robot characters screen time has been increasing by each film and I was so happy to see Transformers: The Last Knight continue this trend. We got the see them hang out more outside of battle, more individual dialogue for each, interactions with each other and they all were distinctive from one another.I would love to see this keep happening going foward with this series.
-Cogman is the best.
Overall this is a solid 3 out 5 stars. This movie is fun.I can see the flaws that it has,and I do agree they need to change up the format if the want to be part of this big movie series, but it had also many great things going for it.
I also love some of the quiet moments with humans and the Transformers like this one ;;

According to Variety, the latest Paramount live-action movie debuted at number one over previously released Wonder Woman as far as physical discs are concerned, but number two in terms of digital release and rental. You can check out the whole article here, and the relevant parts below!
“Transformers: The Last Knight,” from Paramount Home Media Distribution, debuted at No. 1 on both national home video sales charts the week ended Sept. 30.
But Warner’s “Wonder Woman” movie, although bumped down to the No. 2 spot, remained in high demand, selling 87% as many units as the latest “Transformers” film in its second week of release.
[..]
On Home Media Magazine’s rental chart for the week ended Oct. 1, “Wonder Woman” shot to No. 1 now that its brief week-long holdback from Redbox is over.
“Transformers: The Last Knight” debuted at No. 2, while “47 Meters Down” bowed at No. 3. (Both Paramount and Lionsgate release their films to Redbox on the same day they become available for sale.)

I wanted to get the combiner wars footage but I dont do blue-ray. Its just a scam to revive dying disc sales in a world of netflix and other means to watch (or get hold of) a digital copy. Ill just grab Combiner Wars from one of those outlets. I just bought the good ol DVD for now.
On the movie itself, I feel it follows along the same lines as the first 4 movies. The only real difference from the earlier movies is you get more robot footage which is a good thing. I understand there will always be what I like to call the "rotten tomatoes" crowd who let paid movie reviewers make up their minds for them. Those are usually the people who claim to know what "acting" is or isnt based on personal opinions. I tend to focus more on action sequences and CGI graphics rather than what the human actors do or say in the movie. Ive tried to watch movies hailed for "good acting" or "great screen writing" and I usually fall asleep. Everybody hated the 2nd trilogy of star wars films but I loved them more than the original trilogy. Gone were stupid jim henson puppets replaced by awesome CGI renditions of alien characters. Gone were those lame, over-rated "Luke I am your father" moments replaced by cool action sequences that dont resemble a soap opera. Im not saying the Transformers franchise will ever top Star Wars but in franchise longevity it comes very close.

I just want those lovely complex movie bots in HD (but not ultra HD cos it'll be a while before I get a 4KTV despite owning a PS4 Pro). The TF movies are my absolute fave excuse for high definition.
