RUNESCAPE AND TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE TO MAKE DEBUT APPEARANCES AT MCM EXPO IN LONDON
JAGEX UNVEILS EXCLUSIVE RUNESCAPE MEMBERSHIP PACKS FOR EXPO ATTENDEES
TRANSFORMERS FANS TO BE AMOUNG THE FIRST IN THE UK TO RESERVE THEIR CHARACTER NAME FOR THE UPCOMING MMO TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE
Friday 11th May 2012, Cambridge, UK – Jagex, makers of RuneScape, the World’s most popular and multi-award winning free-to-play massively multiplayer online adventure game, today announced their plans to attend London MCM Expo, the UK’s largest Pop Culture Event.
Jagex will be bringing RuneScape to MCM Expo for the first time to showcase the game and give fans an insight into how the game and its graphics are developed. Attendees will be able to meet with members on the development team, who will be on hand to answer fans questions as well as watch concept art being made. Jagex will also be offering a variety of specially designed packs for RuneScape, including an appealing high value, low cost starter pack, and a premium pack containing an assortment of limited edition cosmetic items, game membership and an exclusive MCM RuneScape T-shirt, which will not be sold outside of the show. These membership packs offer true value for money at a variety of prices and will be available to purchase throughout the Expo.
Jagex will also be bringing a team from TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE, the upcoming MMO to be released at the end of the year based on the iconic TRANSFORMERS brand from Hasbro. In a UK exclusive, fans will be given the chance to reserve their character names and will ensure that those attending the event will be able to choose their side, pledge their allegiance, and reserve their character name ahead of everyone else in the country. Attendees will have the chance to meet and interact with members of TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE development team from Jagex at the booth to discuss the development of this much anticipated game.
“Jagex and RuneScape have been around about the same amount of time as MCM so I’m absolutely delighted that 11 years on from our first show Jagex have now confirmed that they will be at the London event this year,” said Brian Cooney Managing Director of MCM Expo. “Each year people ask me if they are coming and finally I can say ‘Yes’! The Jagex stand promises to be a ‘must see’ for show visitors and the whole MCM team are very excited to finally showcase the teams behind the upcoming MMO TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE and the world’s largest free MMO RuneScape.”
In addition to the presence on the show floor, both the RuneScape and TRANSFORMERS UNIVERSE development teams will be hosting sessions on the Gamespot stage to give attendees a glimpse of the development process for both games.
"We're really excited to have Jagex showing off Transformers and RuneScape on the GameSpot UK stage at MCM,” said Guy Cocker, editor, GameSpot. “It marks the first time massively multiplayer games have appeared on the official gaming stage, and MCM attendees will not only be able to see the games in action, but win some cool limited edition prizes as well!"
Tickets for the event are now on general release and can be purchased from the MCM website: http://www.londonexpo.com/. Jagex also have a number of MCM day tickets to giveaway to fans who would like to attend. I'm no Facebook fan either.
