Thanks to Seibertronians nickster563, mattysan, and AcademyofDrX, we've been made aware that two highly anticipated Earthrise 2-packs have had listings put up on Target's website. Both the Skywarp and Thundercracker Voyager set, as well as the Decepticon Clone set of Pounce and Wingspan have been listed, though as of publication time for this article, neither has been in stock or been put up for preorder.

Hm... Dead Prime's head is a little off putting for some reason. I know it's accurate, but I think it's just a little out of place because there's not more damaged parts. I'll probably still get it just because it actually looks kinda neat, but it's a little weird there's not more damage done

ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Armor or battle station. I would personally hope for him to be taller than WFC Optimus since WFC Optimus comes up a bit short scale-wise. It shouldn't be hard, since the most complex thing Roddy would need is struts to make the spoiler not partsform.
Based on the assumption that the price point of a figure depends on the amount of materials used and not the size of the figure itself, if Rodimus is sold as a leader and is the same size as Optimus, as he should be, does that leave enough material for his battle platform that includes the dual barreled cannon and is able to fold up to actually attach to Rodimus in vehicle mode from the flimsy excuse for a trailer that "leader" Optimus got?

Depending how many hollow bits, I'd say so. Rodimus's platform is technically smaller than Prime's trailer, especially as it would hook up to the main figure, leaving a hollow area for the connection point for vehicle mode, it might be close, but it's possible

I would assume the Dual Barrel Gun would not use any more parts than the Drone in Prime's trailer. From there, Roddy's Trailer would be a 1x1 parts copy of Prime's. 2xSide Wall and Roof, 1xFloor, 1xDoor with shield thingy, 4x wheels, 2×axle bogey parts.
But remember, Optimus's trailer was pretty much a simple box that folded open. Rodimus's trailer would have to have more smaller and differently molded parts to attach to the actual figure in vehicle mode. If they did it right, it would be a modern update of the original G1 toy, where Rodimus himself doesn't turn into a vehicle, just the front half of one. If Hasbro commits to a Rodimus figure, let it be a Rodimus figure, not a Hot Rod/Rodimus figure.

No it doesn't. Instead of a single 5mm peg for Prime's 5th wheel you cast the trailer deck with 2 5mm pegs that go into the calves of Rodimus Prime. Either cast the legs to blend with the body or cast the deck with longer side edges to hide the legs between.

Or just make it a Cybertronic Truck and give him a 5th wheel and be done with it.

Not gonna happen. Not if they're sticking with the G1-accuracy they've had until now. And the 2 peg option wouldn't work either, because the trailer itself has to be redesigned. Rodimus can't have a box trailer because it wouldn't be G1-accurate. I know Magnus and Galaxy Prime aren't technically G1-accuratein vehicle mode either, but at least their vehicle modes are based on existing design. I don't know of any toy line or continuity where Rodimus has a box trailer. (I'm not saying there isn't one, I'm saying I haven't seen it.)

As for the 2-packs, I'm looking forward to the Seekers, if and when I can preorder them. I'm curious about the boxes, they both have "Cybertronian Villains" on the front. I wonder if we'll get Autobot 2-packs with "Cybertronian Heroes" on them. And why bring up Cybertron in a line called "Earthrise?"

Sleep optimus looks better than the normal version with his legs being all black, still passing on it as I'm still yet to find a standard optimus to my liking.

I'm thinking that, as I've seen suggested elsewhere, this was gonna be the SDCC exclusive, and now that that's not happening, like with how the toy-colors Refraktor set was gonna be the Hascon exclusive last year, it's gonna be a non-Selects "Fan Channel" exclusive.

I like the sleep mode optimus. With the new head sculpt, I'd like to get it. The only thing that seems off about it is giving him battle damage on his head, but not putting any on his body. IT would be cool if they added that damage as well.

The had on sleep mode prime is pretty cool, but the rest of the battle damage is completely underwhelming by comparison. I might have been more interested with more damage. Also, would've been a lot more interested if he had normal colors with the trailer, or didn't have the trailer with his death colors. I don't see the point of it with this scheme.

We have new images from Japan showing Transformers Earthrise deluxe Arcee and it's pretty clear now why the designers opted for a detaching backpack. Basically, keeping that backpack on, which is still an option, makes for the biggest backpack ever seen in Transformers toy history. It's worse than any of the usual toys we make fun of for instance. She seems to have even less alt mode integration than Cybertron Thunderblast.

We do see one of these photos from Takara showing the figure with the bulkiest bits of the backpack removed and turning into a hoverboard. However, we see there that even with those bits removes, we still don't get the typical Arcee silhouette. Let us know if you think this is an improvement over the previous Generations/Legends Arcee and if you will be getting this toy when it comes out later this year.

Well it's cool to see he does have a new head, but I still don't really see the point of this Optimus, and it honestly just concerns me that the chances of getting Shattered Glass Prime are lower.

YRQRM0 wrote:Also, would've been a lot more interested if he had normal colors with the trailer, or didn't have the trailer with his death colors. I don't see the point of it with this scheme.

Parts of the trailer are molded on the same sprues as parts of the figure, so it has to share the color scheme and they can't make the figure without the trailer (presumably). I feel like this gets brought up every time Prime is mentioned...

Also Arcee continues to just look to be a bad figure, so easy pass.

This would be the very first time the concept of a dead G1 Optimus Prime was sold by Hasbro since so far it was always exclusive Takara redecos.

Arcee is a great big pass. Kudos for it having more curves at deluxe sized than fanstoys but those feet are awful, she must have bathed them in the same hot spring as earthrise prime but for a bit longer. Sticking with the platinum box set and the TR version.

The T-30 one is still available (and much better looking) on BBTS, but the catch is you can only get her paired with with T30 Chromia for $29.99.

Just another option for anyone who is Arceeless and underwhelmed by the ER version.

I have Legends Arcee, I plan to get ER Arcee, but I know the perfect Arcee is somewhere in-between these two.

Part of me wished Hasbro came up with a design that'd capture her look yet make her feel like a Transformer without a huge backpack. I know there's a way to make her look good while spreading the car kibble elsewhere without being the TR version.

Ho-ly shit that is TERRIBLE. Remember when people were going 'CHUG is becoming mini Masterpiece'? Well this is the end stage people, where the show accuracy cancer has metastized into massive chunks of useless alt mode just sticking out the back. This is such an ugly mess I'm gonna go get the T30 Arcee instead.

Kinda reminds me of that AOE First Edition Optimus.

It does, however, integrate the front wheels into the legs fairly decently. The backpack, not so much.
