2025 will have Cyberworld coming out, Hasbro's next Transformers cartoon. While we had a toy of which looked like Megatron who can turn into a bull, it wasn't clear exactly if it was the series antagonist. But this promotional look at the show tells us he is indeed one of the main antagonists. We also see how the Megabull cartoon model works with the horns giving him a more galvatron/unicron look but with a more Megatron color scheme.
We also see Bumblebee, who resembles his look from recue bot toys, Optimus Prime who has a similar look to the Classics toy, and Grimlock who's arm/hand is the dino head.
- He’s scaled to SS AOE Galvatron, so a little shorter than him and just barely taller than SS-32/44 Optimus
- The truck bed actually looks really good! Probably the best truck bed for a Studio Series truck mode, , (though that’s not exactly a high bar to clear)
- the back kibble is removable! Honestly I don’t think I’ll display him like that since I think they handled the kibble really well, but it’s cool that it’s an option!

One of Hasbro's main Transformers designers, Mark Maher, has been posting several posts on Instagram regarding the Age of the Primes line. His latest is Star Convoy (now called Star Optimus Prime and revealed to be this line's 13th Prime) and you can see it below. It includes lots of wonderful images showcasing his many features. We also included his previous post on commander Silverbolt. Enjoy!
The Thirteeth Prime has arisen, Star Optimus is ready to utilize his ancient mystical zodiac orb to overpower your collection. His stark appearance clearly commands a new shelf in your collection and I can’t wait for you to build out the entire 13 primes to once and for all have the great gods of Transformers!
The almighty Shu san worked on this titan with me and boy oh gosh oh golly, he turned out divine! As always, working with Takara Tomy’s amazing team of designers is always a great honor and privilege that I do not take for granted.
I think I’m going to be making 2 posts on this behemoth. The anime style aesthetic that this guy embodies makes him so photogenic, of course mixed with some high class articulation and detailing to really make ya drool! Oh did I forget to mention the 3 killer modes, the long awaited appearance of Micromaster Hotrod (compared him to the core Hotrod), the plethora of weaponry, the first energon bullet accessory(I photoshopped in some extra’s),the matrix hilt with a multitude of metallic tinted blast effects that will keep ya entertained until moms calls ya in for an energon replenishment
The Age of the Primes welcomes the Aerialbot Commander Silverbolt, a heroic Autobot that’s a descendant of the great god Nexus Prime. Silverbolt’s ability to combine with his team of Aerialbots to form the powerful combiner Superion to defeat Legacy’s Menasor and all who stand before him! Let the combiner wars continue
Worked with Hasui san on this great character and he really brought him to life. Every combiner is such a heavy lift for all parties involved but the pay off of seeing it brought to life in such a smooth and articulated impactful way, well, it really speaks for itself.
I might be making 2 posts for this power packed toy because theres so much to show off. The extra thruster, that was designed from scratch, houses the combiner skeleton, which enables powerful strengthened and sturdy joints for dynamic posability and genius level smooth transformation sequences, to the immense joy we all get in every amazing crick of a ratchet joint, welp, again, speechless.
The big jet has the capability to lean the front nose to not only be more accurate to the actual jet but also pay homage to the transformation sequence in the g1 animated series. Its so satisfying to be able to open the cockpit and slide in any titan master for a classic wave of “bon voyage”. Almost as satisfying as having an accurate long range rifle that has multiple position fits with the capability of becoming a wicked cool blaster turret base for all the team to use. How glorious it finally feels when you put him up to an animated accurate Motormaster just so you can bodyslam that fool after he questions “So, who are you going to be a partial of next”?
I feel like Ive always had a great respect and admiration for Commander Silverbolt. Theres somthing about being an autobot leader to a team of bad ass aerialbot jets. Theres somthing about his head design that holds such a stern authoritarian gaze, maybe because of the low helmet brow and the handsome lips? If that wasnt enough, they made them combine into a wicked cool combiner named Superion As we all know, the jet alt mode always felt like an immediate decepticon thing, I meannn the seekers had some heavy air time in the g1 animated series so it just makes an autobot with a flight mode that much more appealing!
Alright, enough of my reminiscing, onward with the rebirth of the scramble city functionality! Since the skeleton system is much like Menasor in many ways I thought the swamping capabilities were crucial to keep and Hasui san being the genius he is, enabled that feature while adjusting other things to make this posable giant ready for a great showdown with his stunticon combiner nemesis.
The various places to utilize his long range rifle blaster really gives the look that I think all of us always wanted. Had to avoid the maize yellow thighs tho cause dont get me wrong, I love me some g1, but to not do the toy homage gold would of been a miss in my eyes. Suped about how the gold actually molded this time around and it blends together nicely with the painted gold. The unpainted extra piping on the thighs Hasui san suggested in order to avoid scratching in transformation ! Also the autobot sculpt that appears on the inside of his split tailwing to connect with the thruster booster really gives you a cool pyramid of autobot insignias.
Next up, I finally got my samples of the almighty thirteeth prime back from Cybertron Con, so next up, Star Optimus Prime. Make sure you let me know what you’d like to see!

We have an in-hand pic of Transformers SS AOE Prime! This give us an idea of the unpainted plastic in more natural light. Also, you'll notice that his silhouette is not encumbered by kibble in his back. That's because the truck cab kibble has the possibility of folding back even further, as you can see in the images below. While it looks bad from the sides, it makes it look much cleaner in the front, which is something none of the previous renditions of this character could accomplish. The phot has been shared on various social media platforms, like Instagram and Facebook.

Another set of Transformers trading cards and mini-figures is available now from Chinese manufacturer Kayou, this time in a 40th anniversary themed set that was revealed at Cybertron Con and released just before Christmas of last year.
The set is a limited production run, with 36,000 Energon-cube inspired boxes available, each including six packs of five cards each and one mini-figure with its own paired card included. There are 12 of these mini-figures available through these blindboxes, featuring Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock and Megatron in regular, metallic and gold decos. The base set, including the paired figure cards, contains 101 cards with an additional 21 chase cards.
Another purchase option is a larger boxed set, limited to 6,666 copies produced. This includes two of the smaller boxes described above, alongside a third yellow Energon Cube box that contains another five packs of cards plus one of the four mini-figures in a clear deco. It's also packed with loads of extras, including a large foil print of the 1984 box art, a gold or silver metal Optimus Prime card, either an Autobot or Deception themed card brick (display stand), one of three SCR cards unique to the large box, and an additional set of 28 cards featuring G1 toy box art that also aren't found in the regular packs.
These cards are available through many sellers on Aliexpress including Kayou's flagship store. Some PR cards (aka promotional cards) are also available, though as of this writing it is not known how to obtain these cards in the west outside of hoping for listings on the secondary market.
While slightly more difficult to obtain for much of this website's readership, this set provides a high quality alternative to the other recently released trading card set from Dynamite Entertainment. I've bought a good amount of these already and while the odds are extremely low of landing the USR or XR chase cards, limited to 399 and 199 serialized copies of each, respectively, even the base set is a real treat to collect and organize. I've posted a picture of one of my pages of the box art cards below.

The Authentics Titan Changer line is still trucking along. It offers a very affordable option for popular Transformers characters at a larger scale with easy transformations. Shockwave will be joining the ranks as we can see from this listing from Hasbro. While it is the evergreen design, it's basically G1 Shockwave and while the alt mode is meant to be like the Siege toy (kinda), G1 fans will see how easily you can bring the arms down and basically make him a lazer gun.
Below you will see photos showing the robot mode, alt mode and even the converting instructions, enjoy!

2025 is shaping up to be the most transformative year in recent memory for Hasbro, but before we get to it, we have to look back on 2024, which had some incredible toys. Below we'll look at what was best from the various lines that were out in stores from myself and staff members ScottyP, kuhlio and Bounti76. Be sure to tell us what you liked best of 2024 as well.
Best Toy
Easily Magmatron. This is a toy I've wanted ever since I learned of its existence and expensive after market prices made me hold off until this modern version was released. And I'm glad I waited because while it has the same awesome look, it isn't a brick. The designers really outdid themselves with this one. As a fan of Beast Wars, Dinosaurs and Combiners, and well executed Transformers toys, this is a winner through and through -William-james88
Missing Link Sentinel Prime. All the awesome fun of G1 reborn with articulation to achieve things that have lived in your imagination (and various artwork/media) for 40 years. I picked the Sentinel Prime version because there were way, way, way too many Optimus Prime toys released this year.
-ScottyP
Lunar Cruiser Optimus Prime- It was nice to see something out of the box!-kuhlio
Legacy Gears/Selects Small Foot. It manages to be a good, solid figure with a fun transformation, at a perfect scale. And in Gears' case, a character that gets so little love in toy form. -Bounti76
Best Legacy United Toy
Tigerhawk. I had written a list of toys that needed updates the most and Tigerhawk was up there. It's a great design and the original toy, while fun, was not show accurate. This one fixes that, it's an excellent update. Beast Wars Forever! -William-james88
Origin Wheeljack, but it'd be Sandstorm if not for the chest peg that doesn't peg on 99% of copies. Picking this not based on what it represents, but because it's a really fun Transformer even when removed from its basis point in "MTMTE Part 1". Fun to transform, has interactivity with other toys, even the slightly weird road accessory has multiple things that you can do with it. Apologies here to Magmatron who is great, but just a nicer Magmatron. There's never been a G1 Wheeljack like this one before. -ScottyP
Magmatron -kuhlio
3-way tie: Animated Motormaster, Filch, and G1 Optimus Prime. Motormaster because he fits the mold better, Filch for being the best version of that bird mold with a fantastic headsculpt, and G1 OP because it's a fantastic representation of a Missing Link toy on a budget. -Bounti76
Best Studio Series Toy
I feel so basic writing SS86 Optimus Prime, but I want to be honest with myself and with you. It's an excellent version of the character and well worth the price it commands. -William-james88
Swoop. Completed the Dinobots, is a fantastic toy and, notably, is not Optimus Prime.-ScottyP
Swoop- I love the Commander Optimus Prime, but my copy has some tolerances that make it feel like I am about to break it while transforming.-kuhlio
Swoop. Great figure, solid in both modes -Bounti76
Best Transformers One Toy
(can include SS releases)
Deluxe Sentinel Prime (from the movie line) is one of those perfect transformers toys. I just love how sleek it is in both modes and has a fun and pleasant transformation. It tells me that there is indeed lots of originality left in this franchise from a design perspective. -William-james88
Takara's Brave Commander Optimus Prime. I almost chose the Quintesson out of spite and total OP burnout, but the Brave Commander version of TF One Optimus is too fun for me to go and be that way. A fully featured and nice toy in a way that no other TF One entry is.-ScottyP
Studio Series D16/Megatron -kuhlio
Mainline Sentinel Prime. Fun, easy transformation, great looking in both modes -Bounti76
Best non mainline toy
(MP, Exclusive, crossover, ect)
Star Raiders Filch was a pleasant surprise. I thought I had gotten everything possible from that Airazor mold, but Filch proved there could still be originality found in one more retool/redeco -William-james88
Agent Knight. This was a hard category to choose being as broad as it is, but I'm giving him the nod over Lunar Cruiser Prime for not being Optimus Prime. Take the 1980s crossover IP window dressing away and Agent Knight is precisely what Transformers needs more of, which is fun new designs and characters that stay true to the soul of Transformers while managing to be well built products that are fun to transform back and forth from mode to mode.-ScottyP
EarthSpark Aftermath or Agent Night- Both because they were something different and stand out as great new toys! -kuhlio
Tie between Selects Pathfinder and Amazon exclusive Barrage. Fantastic deco and figure for a very obscure fembot toy (2003 eHobby release), or the best use of the Insecticon mold (butterfly joints in the arms!) for a character that hasn't had a Deluxe or bigger toy since his first one 39 years ago. -Bounti76
Best TF Media
Transformers One was an excellent Transformers film. Easily my favorite Transformers film and seeing the passion for this franchise from the creators was a treat to behold. -William-james88
Studio Trigger's 40th Anniversary PV -ScottyP
Transformers One movie -kuhlio
Transformers One. Such a good movie, I'm hoping for a sequel of some sort. -Bounti76
What we are looking forward to most next year
The thirteen Primes! I remember this being practically an unobtainable dream once, to the point where Hasbro's compromise was a series of titan masters. But now it's happening and it will be glorious.
-William-james88
It's going to be awhile before it happens, but assuming there's no break in the monthly publication schedule, there's allegedly a new writer for the Skybound comics starting in October. I am extremely ready for that. Dare I unironically suggest Shane McCarthy?-ScottyP
A new batch of Blokees. -kuhlio
Seeing what Age of the Primes brings. While not totally sold on the toys we've seen so far (I'm looking at you, Prima), I love that the line seems to be doing something fun and innovative by creating altmodes for the Primes, and tying existing characters to a Prime's lineage. -Bounti76

We now have images of the Transformers Swapticons. Unlike what was first assumed, these aren't really Transformers figures but more fidget style toys that use the Transformers brand. These are cubes with pop out heads and have details of a robot mode on the front and alt mode details on the back. Sticking two together creates a full alt mode and halves can be swapped. Meaning you can have an Optimus truck with a cheetah butt. Or a tank with a cheetah head. These will retail for $8 USD. Below you will see images of the first mix along with the initial listings we got for the line.

Takara Tomy held a special T-Spark Zone 2025 event this week, revealing a number of upcoming releases that have been previously teased.
The biggest of the reveals is Adamas Machina AMT-2 Predaking. Things are still early, only revealing a gray model and photos, but what we can see is interesting. It's hard to gauge size, but it is next to AMT-1 Rodimus who stands at 9 inches so he may be in that new standard 12 inch range. It appears we're going for a classic "Deluxe and Voyager" type setup rather than trying to keep all of the members at the same general height. It's an interesting take for sure. Side note, a clear Rodimus was shown, but that was likely just to show off the die cast content.
Then we've got our first look at Missing Link Arcee! We were teased previously by Takara Tomy asking if fans were interested in seeing her get made and the reaction must have been positive because here she is. The placard next to her specifically points out this is the prototype version so perhaps a pink movie version is also in our future.
Then there's our first ever actual Macross crossover with Macross 7 Basara Prime. Basara is a Japanese word that, in the case of the anime, means "acting without restraint, self indulgence", but it's also the name of the main character, Basara Nekki, properly fitting for a rock star. So yes, if you were sure we were getting another Prime as a crossover from Takara Tomy, pat yourself on the back. Once again we're treated to a gray model, but we can at least confirm the alt mode is based on the VF-19 "Fire" Valkyrie so expect a very orange Prime this time. Most importantly he has a guitar!
Finally we've got the no so surprising Nucleon Quest Super Convoy repaint of the recently released MPG Super Ginrai. Not much to say here, it sure does look cool, though!
None of these new figures have release info or prices, but Nucleon Quest Super Convoy and Missing Link Arcee will likely go up for pre-order soon enough.

Not content with turning Optimus Prime into an anime girl once with the Bishojou statue, Kotobukiya is back at it again. This time our latest anime girl take on Prime is ready for battle using their original model kit system making it compatible with a number of Koto's models, be it robots or fellow anime girls if you think Prime could use a little upgrading. She's priced with an MSRP of 8,800 JPY (about $57 USD) in Japan and around $80 in the USA with release in June and July respectively. Of course Japanese prices are more likely to vary than western ones.
From Transformers, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024, the Autobot leader Optimus Prime joins Kotobukiya’s plastic model kit lineup based on a new original illustration by Humikane Shimada!
Each joint is highly articulated, with even the fine details of the character being properly modeled into this kit. Plenty of features are included in this version of Optimus Prime. The Matrix of Leadership, the symbol of the supreme commander of the Autobots, is also sculpted inside the chestplate. The model also comes with Optimus Prime’s main weapons–a laser rifle and energon-axe.
The face parts are pre-printed with tampography, making it easy to recreate Optimus Prime by just assembling the kit. The kit is made of multi-colored plastic and contains pre-painted parts, making it easy for users of all levels to assemble.
This product is a plastic model kit that requires assembly.
Assembled: 5.31 inches tall (13.5cm)
Made of ABS, PVC, POM, and PS
Based on Transformers' Optimus Prime
Multiple points of articulation
Interchangeable parts and accessories
Instructions may or may not include English translation
Pieces to build
Optimus Prime (Convoy)
5 Pairs of hands
4 Face plates
Laser rifle
Energon-axe
Now, here's where I have to break the bad news. This kit has been insanely popular and sold out fast after pre-orders went up. Not just in Japan, but also in a number of western stores. You may have to do a little hunting around if you want to add her to your Prime collection.

If you backed the latest HasLab Transformers figure, Omega Prime, Hasbro dropped some news very early this morning- the unboxing video for the final product! Designer Evan Brooks is joined by Emily from the marketing team, and since she didn't work directly on the product, she's never seen the figure, so we get the fun of seeing Omega Prime unboxed through her eyes, which is what backers will be seeing this Fall, when he ships! He is packed in a few separate boxes to keep things secure, and the vacuum-metallized pieces are packed separately from everything else to keep them pristine. As a fun extra, Evan also has his original Omega Prime from the early 2000s so we get to see a brief comparison of the two.
Please enjoy the video below, and let us know what you think. Are you excited to get him if you backed him? Waiting for the next Transformers HasLab instead (which Emily hinted is coming very soon)? Let us know in the forums!

We thank Sabrblade for letting us know of a slew of new official images of MPG-15 Masterpiece Rattrap. These images show that the pack peg on MP Primal will be used to affix Rattrap to his back. We even see that famous shot of them riding into action on Rhinox' back. We also see a shot of the Maximal team with Rattrap, which shows his scale. As with many of the previous Beast Wars MPs, the beast mode head on his chest in robot mode is a piece of fake kibble but it can be seen on the belly of the rat mode.

We are sad to write to you that as of this week we've lost Canadian actor Dale Wilson, yet another soul whose performance in the Unicron Trilogy made an impact for many of us. He played Smokescreen in Armada and Mudflap in Cybertron as well as Overkill in G.I Joe: A Real American Hero and Cell in Dragon Ball Z (among a multitude of other voice roles). He passed away January 6th at 74. He was battling with both Parkinson's disease and prostate cancer

BIG NEWS for Beast Wars fans. After YEARS of teasing, Takara is finally releasing their Masterpiece Rattrap. He will be released in the MPG line which basically confirms that it's just a continuation of the MP line and not in any way different from it. We know it will be fully revealed with preorders in February in Japan and will have a September release. The Price point was also revealed: 15000 Yen. That's about $95 USD, and of course there will be changes in currency exchange till then along with probable discounts from Japanese retailers which could bring the price down by $20 before shipping.
Below are the only 2 images we have from Takara themselves, along with the list where we gathered all the information shared.
