The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast is back to discuss things we have known about for... some time. Your host ScottyP is joined by Aaarnhide19 and Megatronus to discuss superlatives and lay 40 for 40 to rest with our one-time recurring non-recurring segment: 41 for 40. Listen in to hear how this year shapes up in the Twincast tally, in an agenda and format that definitely is not a copy-paste of prior years.
Episode #367 “2024 Year In Review” is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on Apple Podcasts and many other Podcatcher sites within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
Here's what we discuss in this episode:
We start with Best Transformers toy - objectively. Well, somewhat.
Next, our favorite Transformers toys across 2 categories: main collector lines, and anything else.
Best or favorite media. Foreshadowing: the Twincast was split between 2 main choices.
Worst Transformers toy and worst Transformers-that-isn't-a-toy.
Biggest collecting achievement of the year (i.e., a cool acquisition or major milestone).
2 Predictions: a 'layup' very-likely-to-happen prediction, and a wishful-thinking-never-gonna-happen conjecture.
We wrap up the episode with a round of bragging rights, as we begin the year anew.

We are sad to write to you that as of this week we've lost Canadian actor Dale Wilson, yet another soul whose performance in the Unicron Trilogy made an impact for many of us. He played Smokescreen in Armada and Mudflap in Cybertron as well as Overkill in G.I Joe: A Real American Hero and Cell in Dragon Ball Z (among a multitude of other voice roles). He passed away January 6th at 74. He was battling with both Parkinson's disease and prostate cancer

BIG NEWS for Beast Wars fans. After YEARS of teasing, Takara is finally releasing their Masterpiece Rattrap. He will be released in the MPG line which basically confirms that it's just a continuation of the MP line and not in any way different from it. We know it will be fully revealed with preorders in February in Japan and will have a September release. The Price point was also revealed: 15000 Yen. That's about $95 USD, and of course there will be changes in currency exchange till then along with probable discounts from Japanese retailers which could bring the price down by $20 before shipping.
Below are the only 2 images we have from Takara themselves, along with the list where we gathered all the information shared.

It's official, the live service game Transformers Reactivate has been cancelled. This comes to us from Splash Damage, the developers, who say the game is no longer being developed. You can read their whole statement below, which they posted on Twitter. We thank Sabrblade for letting us know of this unfortunate development. While a coincidence, this does happen at the same time that Hasbro will be doing games based on their properties themselves rather than licensing it out to third party companies. We will be giving you more info on this shift in Hasbro's business strategies in an upcoming editorial.

The next animated Transformers show will be Cyberworld, which is slightly beast themed from the listings we saw. One of the listings was TRA CYBERWORLD Cyber Changer MEG BULL and now we have an idea of what that means. While the name is not confirmed yet (the name Megabull is rumoured), we have our first look at a toy which turns into a bull and has Megatron's face. So "MEG BULL" is apt. This is a very simple toy though, with minimal articulation, not even elbows. Now this gives us an idea of how simplified some of the figures for this show will be as we had several listings for various characters in the same Cyber Changer class as this Meg Bull, which will retail for $9.99 USD.
Also, the images below are of a prototype so we don't have an idea of the final colours yet.
And for those curious, here are other listings we have for this line:
Transformers TRA CYBERWORLD Armor GALVATRON- 5010996319784 $14.99 USD
Transformers TRA CYBERWORLD Armor CHOP Shop- 5010996327451 $14.99 USD

It doesnt mean any of these will become real products later but the combos are fun to see. We also get our best look yet at the Optimus Prime head found under this Hot Wheels cab. You can see several of the test shots below along with some of Bumblebee. And from what you can see, sone of these are going for a lot of money, like the G1 Sentinel Prime looking deco going for over $400.

We promise this coincidence is not intentional. While we wanted to warn you of the possible breakage issue with Takara's latest MP release, fellow Seibertronian Kanrabat also gave us a pictorial review of Takara's other recent release which also has a breakage issue. This figure is their Bingo Sports Optimus Prime figure, which is a Crosshairs retool. The mirrors are said to snap off really easily. You can read the full review below:
-Kanrabat- wrote:I got my Bingotimus! How is it? Let's see.
First, the box is the smallest possible, without window, but brightly colored.
The manual show a transformation that will be simple enough to do.
Despite the kibbles, the bot mode is pretty cool. However, I think it would need more paint on the head and chest.
Bingotimus is a obvious retool of SS Crossair. And he can sport the "trenchcoat" look pretty well too.
His neck collar prevent his head from turning more than just a bit. No waist articulation too.
Comparing him to his elders, Silver Knight Optimus, and the TLK voyager Optimus.
Now, remember that I said previously that his transformation look simple?
It is simple... In theory.
In reality, the transformation is a nightmare of annoying panels that keep pushing each other, the whole roof section keep popping off from its single balljoint, things go in, things pop out, panels massage, panels massage, then SNAP!
Off a side-view mirror goes.
They could have made the side-mirrors as a separate part made out of rubber to prevent this. But NOOOOOOOOO. Let's make them fragile things that are like a model kit part on a sprue.
If you conveniently ignore the misaligned panels (I gave up), the painting of the car mode is magnificent. But what's the point of all that paint if the car looks like it crashed?
I tried my best to repair that mirror.
In the end, this whole thing is OVERPRICED GARBAGE.
86$CAN into the trash.
Amazon.JP does not take any returns from foreign sales so I'm stuck with it.
TlDr; be warned. This thing is NOT GOOD even if it was a 30$ deluxe. Now imagine for double or triple that price. Not worth it.
At all.

Fans have been getting the newly released MPG 09 Ginrai, which includes his trailer to turn him into Super Ginrai. However, an issue has come up with the connection point near the smokestacks when turning Ginrai into Super Ginrai. Those tabs snap off, and we have proof of two instances along with several other reports. A piece of Ginrai's white crotch-plate in normal mode has also been confirmed to break off.
Of course, not everyone has their copy yet, so we don't know how widespread these issues are, we just want to give you a heads up to be extra careful at that connection point. There are several images of both MPG 09 (Super Ginrai) and MP 60 (Ginrai, without his trailer) which we have posted below coming from Transformers Botsposting, TM Review and HK TF on Facebook along with Baidu.
We also have a review of MPG Super Ginrai for you along with transformation videos from Takara.

Oh, you thought because we're in the middle of the holidays there couldn't possibly be a reveal, much less on a weekend? Well, Evan Brooks of the Transformers design team is here with a surprise reveal that even the leakers didn't know about! In an Instagram Reel shared with us by our own Seibertronian Sabrblade, Evan gave us a first look at Generations Selects Trypticon, a repaint of Titans Return Trypticon in darker cartoon colors. Some of the clear plastic, namely the green parts that were occasionally problematic are now opaque plastic. We also got a first look at the box which is now much more colorful and stylized than the previous plain cardboard boxes, apparently this is the direction we're going in for future Selects figures.
No further details like price or release date were given aside from pre-orders starting in early 2025. If you were looking for a second chance to get this great figure this is probably your best shot. If you plan on picking up this guy for the first time or second then let us know in the Energon Seibertron Pub forums!

Oh man, looks like this will be a hassle for collectors. While we were supposed to have the movie inspired Hot Wheels Transformers cars much earlier this year, a recall on Barricade meant the set's distribution was now up in the air. While a new version of Barricade has been available for a while for worldwide distribution, the set has finally been found in the US at the tail end of December. However, it seems Barricade is not part of it. So far, we have reports of these movie cars appearing in Walmarts in various states with some sets having Barricade while others don't. Looks like the UK has these sets as well with Barricade.
Aside from Barricade, the other cars in the set are Crosshairs, Drift, Bumblebee and Stinger. The cards have the names of the cars rather than the characters as that is how Mattel operates and the art on the card is generic Evergreen art to bypass extra licensing costs as Paramount own the movie designs.

Looks like we are getting even more Earthspark toys in 2025 than we thought. Thanks to JTPrime17, we now have images of the new Transformers Smash to Change toys. There will be Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Megatron and Thrash. As the name goes, these will be toys for a younger audience that can easily convert when smashing them down.

Thanks to Y Team Hot Wheels on Youtube, we have in hand images of the upcoming main line Hot Wheels Optimus Prime cab. This is said to be part of the 2025 case F, which is the same as saying wave 6 2025. Waves 1 and 2 (a and b) have already come out so this should be hitting bins and pegs in late February, early March.

While there won't be any updates for Transformers Reactivate until at least next year, something pretty cool has dropped. TFReaper has uploaded leaked gameplay footage of the game from 2020. It gives us an idea of the third person angle this game has along with the how the transformation gimmick is implemented along with what the enemies are. And we see that Bumblebee design that we are now very familiar with due to the toys.
The footage is from the tutorial area. It is also important to remember that the game has been massively reworked since so it may look very different from this once eventually released.

Preorder are up on most online sellers for the newly revealed Age of the Primes toys. While Hasbro is working on fixing distribution by having less waves in a year, preorders remain your best bet to ensure you get the figure you want instead of depending on retail. Below you will find links to Pulse and Amazon, along with a Target link for the Sonic set as it is a Target exclusive. We thank Overcracker, Emerje and DeathReviews.
Wave 1 is due for Q2, April/May, since 2025 will begin with the final wave of Legacy first.

The Hot Wheels 2025 master list had Optimus Prime listed as castings used in the 2025 main line. SO we knew we'd get a solo release of the Optimus Prime cab. And now we have our first look at it. The "2025" highlighted on the card means this is a new casting and not a reuse of the Trackfleet cab. Here's looking forward to more Transformers appearances in Hot Wheels.
