Ever since we discovered that Takara Tomy's Transformers Prime Arms Micron AM-19 Gaia Unicron had the ability to combine with both Voyager Megatron and Optimus Prime, fans were left wondering why on Earth (or Cybertron) would the Chaos Bringer merge with the leader of the Autobots? Megatron, maybe, but Optimus Prime? Well thanks to the bios featured on Takara Tomy's CNY Exclusive Transformers Prime Arms Micron Optimus Prime and Gaia Unicron set we have our answer!
In a nutshell, the dimension hopping Leo Prime used the remains of Unicron's defeated avatar to forge the Gaia Armor. See the bios courtesy of the Allspark mirrored below:
Optimus Prime:
The noble leader Optimus Prime began his days as Orion Pax, a mere data clerk in the Iacon Hall of Records. It was his meeting with the gladiator Megatron that would greatly change his destiny, the first step on the path to being bestowed with the Matrix and recognized as a great leader. Adopting the motto “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings,” Optimus Prime’s battle with Megatron now continues on Earth. He fights to protect the people of Earth while uncovering the mysteries of the planet.
Gaia Unicon:
Legend has it that in days long past, the Chaos God Unicron was sealed away by the first 13 Transformers. As he threatens to awaken, the Earth lies on the verge of chaos and destruction. Iacon records claim that on a world in a distant dimension, civilization was driven to extinction when it attempted to harness Unicron’s energy. Now Earth risks the same dire fate. The mighty avatar Gaia Unicron, born from Dark Energon, is the first harbinger of the chaos bringer’s revival.
Gaia Armor:
Optimus Prime and his Autobots faced impossible odds, yet succeeded in defeating Gaia Unicron, the earthly avatar of the chaos lord Unicron. From its remains, the macrocosmic guardian Leo Prime used his ancient sword to forge the Gaia Armor. Although the purifying power of an Energon Matrix severed the Gaia Armor from Unicron’s control, it still resonates with the forbidden might of Dark Energon, granting its wearer unspeakable power. Should Optimus Prime choose to don the armor, he must heed Leo Prime’s warning and treat it with great caution: constant vigilance is required to control the armor without being corrupted by its power. Were the Gaia Armor to fall into the hands of the Decepticon tyrant Megatron, the consequences would surely mean destruction for the already outnumbered Autobots. Whether to be used for good or evil, the Gaia Armor brings a new dimension to the battles of Team Prime.

Our fellow Transformers enthusiasts over on the Allspark have provided translations for the backstories featured on Takara Tomy's Transformers United EX-06 Buildmaster and EX-07 Assaultmaster. The stories are titled "Hope for the Next Generation" and "Unearthed Future" respectively. We've mirrored the translations below, images courtesy of Alfes 2010.
Hope for the Next Generation
The forces of the Master Class had assembled in the Autobot headquarters. They waited to be briefed on the operation to attack the Decepticon hideout that had been located thanks to Marinemaster’s information.
Standing before them was a dark figure…
“Assaultmaster… It’s the spare body for Optimus Prime, isn’t it?”
“Exactly, Airmaster. As it is, it’s nothing more than an empty shell without a spark. But if I ride inside it, I’ll be able to interface with its Energon Matrix and mobilize it for battle, just like you Transformers.”
Clad in a protective exosuit designed for the interface, Major Clouder’s face showed a determined expression.
“This technology was developed by human and Autobot alike. It represents our dream and yours. I won’t let anyone twist it to their own purposes, and I’m not about to ask you to fight alone. Would you let me fight alongside you?
As the Autobots nodded the affirmative, Jetmaster put the group’s sentiment into words.
“You bet we would, Major Clouder. We trust you with our lives.”
“Thank you. In that case, Autobots! Let’s transform and roll out!”
Amidst a long and vicious battle with many of his comrades sustaining damage, Assaultmaster proceeded into the cave rumored to be a Decepticon hideout.
As if being drawn in by some unseen force, Assaultmaster moved deeper and deeper into the tunnel. Strangely, Clouder could detect no trace of life from within it. Just as he began to doubt whether this “High Regent” really existed or not, a voice rang out within his mind… or more precisely, from within Assaultmaster’s body.
“I thank you, Major Clouder… or as you were known as our ally, “Doubleclouder.” This sparkless body is an ideal vessel for me. Now, the true master of the future to come… is the High Regent Scrash!”
Clouder’s control of Assaultmaster was being rapidly eroded. He struggled to activate the combiner’s internal Immobilizer unit, setting it to overload.
“Now I understand what you are… But I won’t let your scheme come to pass!”
So began a battle that held in its grip the fate of a new era…
Assaultmaster:
A spare body for Optimus Prime constructed by the Department of Defense with the assistance of Wheeljack. Since it doesn’t contain a spark, Major Clouder pilots it manually.
Sentinel Drone:
A tank drone that launches intercontinental ballistic missiles. Transforms into an arm.
Guardian Drone:
A jet drone that can use its reconnaissance functions to hack into nearby devices. Transforms into an arm.
Alpha Drone:
A helicopter drone invisible to enemy radar. Transforms into a leg.
Zeta Drone:
A truck drone that fires electromagnetic pulse artillery. Transforms into a leg.
Assaultmaster Prime Mode:
By tapping into the energy reserves of the drones, the combined Assaultmaster can fire an Immobilizer ray that freezes the movements of super-robot life forms temporarily.
The location was a hillside surrounded by mountains. In a cliff face, a great cavern yawned open. Around it were deep holes in the ground that appeared to be part of some archaeological dig.
Before them, Combatmaster stood alone.
“I’ve been waiting for you, Autobots.”
Dodging Racemaster’s preemptive strike, Combatmaster targeted Jetmaster and fired the first shot, but Jetmaster’s form had been hidden away by his stealth capabilities. It was Choppermaster that appeared in his place, equipped with the Jet Drones.
“You’ve got something of mine there, and I’m takin’ it back!”
As a fierce battle escalated between Autobot and Decepticon, Clouder used his Assault Drones to scan the area.
“What were they trying to dig up? Is this really their base?”
The drones’ sensors detected several large fragments of metal that seemed to have been excavated from the ground, one of which was engraved with an unfamiliar insignia.
“What’s this mark…?”
As if in answer to Clouder’s question, the Decepticon Buildmaster emerged from the cave along with the stolen construction drones.
“Take your filthy Autobot hands off of that. That’s proof of a glorious Decepticon future. It’s not for your kind to defile!”
“So, you’re supposed to be the guard dog of the construction site? If you think your future is scrapmetal, I can send you there right now! Unite!”
“A miserable human stands no chance of opposing us!”
Armed with the dual powers of construction and destruction, Buildmaster retaliated in his own Prime Mode. Pitted against the fierce spinning power of his opponent’s shoulder-mounted drill, Clouder manipulated Assault Master with the link system, but his movements were beginning to fall behind…
“Clouder, you keep on movin’! I can handle this guy!”
Grimmaster let out a howl as he intercepted Buildmaster, and as the clash between construction vehicles and dinosaurs began, Clouder continued into the foreboding depths of the cave…
Buildmaster:
A secondary member of the Constructicons who was given the moniker “Gravedigger” for a destructive temperament poorly suited to building. His motivation is to bring about the revival of his heavily wounded elder brother.
Decimator Drone:
A construction drone that can use its large drill for combat or excavation. Transforms into an arm.
Dominator Drone:
A construction drone that fires special disks which can be used to control the movements of enemies. Transforms into an arm.
Eradicator Drone:
A construction drone with a front blade that scan for underground objects. Transforms into a leg.
Annihilator Drone:
A construction drone that rams opponents with its roller. Transforms into a leg.
Buildmaster Prime Mode:
Combined with the four Build Drones stolen from the Autobots, Buildmaster’s power exceeds even that of Devastator. Internal sensors allow him to accurately detect metal or relics buried deep within the ground.

Move over Autobots, the Decepticons are coming to Takara Tomy's Super GT Line! Well at least one of them is, and naturally it's Megatron. The CyberGundam Blog has posted new magazine scans that reveal Megatron and his Race Queen. The actual figure hasn't been revealed, just an illustration of Megatron using their retooled Alternity Optimus Prime mold and his black and purple clad Race Queen. Also pictured in the scans is Super GT Optimus Prime figure.

Remember the alternate head featured in Transformers Prime "Robots in Disguise" Deluxe Ratchet's instruction sheet? Well a prototype figure with the aforementioned head has surfaced, and based on the colors and "M" on the the figure's hood it might have been intended to be Gears. TFW2005 user Deceptigtar has shared images of this prototype complete with alternate head and "Gear" symbol paint application. The figure also bears the telltale "not for sale" often found on prototypes and testshots. Images mirrored below.

Site sponsor Kapow! Toys has provided us with a great pictorial review of Takara Tomy's recently released Transformers Prime Arms Micron AM-29 Shockwave with Bido. Enjoy the review and images found below!
Now this is a strange one, Takara kick off their own Generations line this very month with TG-01 & 02 FOC Optimus and Jazz yet Shockers got rammed in the Arms Micron line which has left him somewhat overlooked. Coming in a lighter shade of purple than his Hasbro compatriot he appears closer to the cartoon Shockwave which will please a lot of people. Size wise he's definitely not any bigger ( just kidding ) and suffers from some quite thin legs, I however think it works and is a very nice representation of whats seen on screen in the video game. He has a bundle of articulation in the arms and legs, the head swivels but sadly there is no waist swivel which in these days of cutting costs is understandable on a deluxe class figure. The micron is neatly put together but has a very strange alt mode, it does come across as a gun with bug legs, it is also not capable of snapping onto Shockwaves arms and entirely concealing the fist so must always be hand mounted which is a little bit of a letdown but not the end of the world.
Alt mode is improved by the bulkier Micron figure in that it helps the ship hold together very tightly, you also get some nice battle damage stickers to plaster over the bulkhead making him look nice and worn. The style of the alt mode is fully Cybertronian appearing to be a cross between a flying cannon / ship, I personally like it but know some people don't having hoped for a full on space gun.
To conclude, FOC Shockwave has been a paint to find and when people do its usually at a premium but still cheaper than this version, does a Micron add enough value to warrant a purchase ? probably not so this will only be for you if you fancy completing your AM collection, like the lighter shade of purple or just flat out cannot find the FOC version.

Categories:Comic Book News, People News Posted by:El Duque | Credit(s): Alex Milne Topic Options: View Discussion · Views: 53,750 Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye Ongoing artist Alex Milne has updated his deviantART account with his covers for issues #14 and #15. We get a look at the clean and lineart versions of each. Check them out below.
well i got the go ahead from the boss that it was ok to post this up to show off, so thats what i'm doing
this is the lineart for the cover to issue 14 of MTMTE.
this cover is a bit different from the ones i normally do. i had lots of fun with it. basically in the solicitations for this comic, it tells of a characters with needles making the biggest mistake of his life. well if you put 2 and 2 together i think we can work out who the character is.
so we have chromedome and he's doing his special skill on overlord. good idea? i don't think so.
with this cover i wanted to give overlord a very psychotic look. i pleased with how it turned out
the awesomesauce of mr Josh Perez was used to color up this bad boy. i love how it turned out. all i said to him was i want it to look creepy. well i think he did that and more. i can't look at it for too long. it creeps me out
i know one of the things Josh wanted to do is make Overlords eyes greenish yellow instead of the standard red due to what chromedome is doing. his idea was if your haing your mind read, your eyes would be glowing a different color.
i like that idea. i know he added so much more into this cover then that, but i'll let him explain all that he did when he posts it up on his DA page.
well, back to work
enjoy
well this is full on action here
this is the cover to MTMTE 15. its basically everything that could go wrong with overlord on the ship happening. will it play out this way, who will know. you'll just have to pick up the issue to find out
poor ultra magnus. he's not having a good day. a gut punch and an arm ripped off. ratchet will have his work cut out for him. good thing they picked up a few more medics back in issue 5
so this cover has drift impaled by his own sword. brawn has one of his forearms chopped off, but is spoting a nice pair of brass knuckles so he can pay overlord back. rodimus is firing on overlord while skids is trying to hold onto him and get a head shot in. i wounder if he will???? in the background we have crosshairs, pointblank, and boos. i put them in there to show more of the crew of the lost light
this cover was colored by the ever so talented Joana Lafuente. i have to thank her ever so much for doing this. i kinda got this cover done at the last minute and she had to come in and really bust this out. now this is not a cover you want to have bust out in a short period of time, but she did it. she's a real trooper thanks a lot Joana
