Thanks to fellow Seibertronian Downshift, we have our first North American listing for the Combienr Wars G2 sets with a listing of G2 Superion found on Walmart.ca. It has the same price previously found on the Toysrus computer database, 149.92$ Canadian. This listing tells us that the initial G2 box sets will not be retailer exclusive and that they are indeed meant to start selling this holiday season. This should be available in the states sometime soon, either a Walmart or Toysrus (or Target since I here they still exist over there).
The listing also offered new stock images which are less touched up than usual as well as Walmart's own brand of bio:
Superion is driven by one thing and one thing only: a desire to obliterate the enemy. He attacks Decepticons – on the ground or in the air – with all-out force.
Convert, attack and destroy with this incredible 7-in-1 Superion Collection Pack!

Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 brings us a video review of the highly desired deluxe class Groove. This Groove was part of the TakaraTomy Mall exclusive Unite Warriors Defensor box-set.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:While Takara did repaint two existing molds giving the figures new heads, for the Superion and Menasor gift sets, no one expected them to create an entirely new mold for Defensor. Well that's just what they did and Groove is a near perfect update of the G1 character. The transformation is simple yet effective, utilizing the same leg transformation as the Aerialbots. Hopefully Hasbro releases this figure domestically for collectors on a budget.
You can check out Hasbro's representation Here. And don't forget to sound off on how you think this figure turned out. Did it do the original figure justice? Or do you prefer your Defensor to have his motorcycles turn into armor instead of an arm?

While initial reception on the new Robots in Disguise toyline was lukewarm, it really seems to have found it's footing and the mincons' welcome return into the fiction and toyline (albeit reinvented) is a big help. Seibertron was lucky to get the new four pack in and take some prelminary pictures of them in their box. We had perviously only seen 3d toy models so this gives us a better idea of the deco and detail. This set (W1 341148) includes Backtrack, Swelter, Beastbox ad Scorch Strike. Enjoy!

There's no doubt that some Seibertronians are going to be out and about doing some holiday shopping over the next week and a half. If you've got a young Rescue Bots fan on your list to tide over next week, it looks like the current is in your favor as the Transformers: Rescue Bots Epic Figure, High Tide, is out at US retail. This was found by yours truly yesterday at a Target store in Raleigh, NC for the oddball price of $10.19.
These non-transforming figures aren't widely sought by collectors, but they interact with other Playskool heroes figures and accessories, so this may be a fun addition for the young fan in your life. Don't forget to contact our news team when you see sightings that haven't hit our front page yet, and as always keep your browser anchored here to Seibertron.com for all the latest.

And finally, from IDW Publishing, we have the official press release confirming the status, creative teams and general idea of the five-week Deviations project, and the one-shot featuring the Transformers - if Optimus Prime never died in the first place! Check it out below.
IDW Explores Alternate Timelines In ‘Deviations’! The Five-Week Event Arrives In March
In a world where the Ghostbusters never crossed streams to save New York… In a world where Shredder was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ sensei… In a world where all your expectations are turned upside down—welcome to the world of Deviations, a weekly event series featuring alternate takes on some of IDW’s most popular books!
Starting with the Ghostbusters, readers will be taken to alternate realities of some of the most iconic heroes in comics with weekly one-shots that each highlight a different series. G.I. JOE will follow in the second week, exploring what would happen if COBRA finally won. The TRANSFORMERS comes next, looking at what the implications would be if OPTIMUS PRIME never died! Then, in X-Files Deviations, having been abducted by aliens, Fox Mulder never returned… and finally, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one-shot will round out the event.
“When one moment changes,” said Chris Ryall, IDW Editor in Chief, “whole universes alter forever. We’re asking the questions fans have been pondering for years—and now we’ll see some answers.”
Both new and familiar faces will make their mark on this warped series as newcomers to the titles join fan-favorite creators!
In Ghostbusters Deviations,
Kelly Thompson(Jem and the Holograms) teams up with artist Nelson Daniel (Judge Dredd).
Paul Allor returns to G.I. Joe, with artwork by Corey Lewis(Sharknife).
TRANSFORMERS Deviations welcomes Brandon Easton (Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven) alongside Transformers: Robots in Disguise artist Priscilla Tramontano.
Amy Chu (Sensation Comics: Wonder Woman) explores The X-Files alongside Elena Casagrande (Doctor Who) and Silvia Califano (The X-Files: Season 10) on art.
Finally Tom Waltz (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) leads Zach Howard (Wild Blue Yonder) into the sewers for the TMNT Deviations.
Look for all five Deviations in your comic shop and online every week in March!

Fellow Seibertronians, in an exclusive interview with Brazilian site Cinepop, Mark Wahlberg confirms that he will be returning to the world of Transformers by way of Transformers 5. The full article and video can be viewed here.
This is not entirely new, as we already had a hint at Wahlberg's return all the way back here - but how do you feel about Mark's return to the franchise coming from the man himself? Did you like his performance in the last movie? Post your comments in the Energon Pub and let us know.

While we await the new galleries dedicated to the Combiner Wars Combaticons, our first gallery post Bruticus focuses on Legends Class Shockwave. Shockwave is a brand new mold that can be held by any Combiner Wars Combiner as a laser gun but is meant to go with Bruticus to recreate the G1 episode "The Revenge of Bruticus". Shockwave can also attach to Onslaught in vehicle mode as well. Click on any of the images below to see the full gallery and stayed tuned for Onslaught's gallery coming next.
Novabeam10 wrote:my friend at TRU here in Canada fed me a bit of information that may interest any combiner wars lover out there. Apparently TRU canada has a listing for the fans built combiner in their system alongside listings for Menasor/superion sets plus a platinum planet of Junk set. All have no orders as of yet so this may just be placeholders on online only stock
The SKU's and canadian retail pricing are as follows
Fan built combiner 778971 149.99
Menasor 778969 149.99
Superion 778966 149.99
Planet of Junk Platinum set 736239 109.99
This confirms that Toysrus will be distributing these boxsets in Canada (which may not be the case in the US since distribution has been different in the past). Judging from the Canadian prices, this would seem to be box sets which allude to the following price ranges for their retail release in the US:
Victorion would be between 100-120$ US
G2 Menasor would be between 100-120$ US
G2 Superion would be between 100-120$ US
Platinum Planet of Junk set would be about 80$ US
This last one is the most interesting since it is a new set that none of us were aware of yet. Hasbro had alluded to more G1 reissue sets coming out recently and this could be a reissue of sorts. 2016 marks the 30th anniversary of the movie and the first time we visited the Planet of Junk so it may be a set of G1 toys related to this planet or that scene in the film. It may also simply be a reissue of the various editions of the Reveal the Shield Wreck Gar mold since the purpose of that figure was to be able to accommodate another figure to ride it, a feature that lends itself nicely to a release of multiple figures.
Tell us what you would hope this set to be and let the speculation begin!
