We have received an email from Simon and Sven of Auto Assembly: Target 2006. They have announced their cut-off dates for booking in the United Kingdom. Here is their message:
"Auto Assembly: Target 2006 UK Bookings Cut-Off Date
Auto Assembly: Target 2006, the UK Transformers convention taking place on Saturday 3rd of June in Birmingham, England has now set the FINAL cut-off date for pre-registrations for all bookings from fans within the UK wishing to attend the convention. Please read this carefully as there are two dates depending on how you intend to pay and there are final details of how on-the-door places will be announced should any be available...
First, if you intend to book via post and pay by cheque then you will need to get your booking to us by Saturday 20th May 2006 AT THE LATEST to guarantee your place at the convention. This will allow us plenty of time to present your cheque to the bank, for it to clear and for us to make sure that your booking confirmations and information packs are shipped to you in time for the convention! If you are paying by postal order or cash (and we must stress that cash is sent at your own risk), then this deadline is extended to Saturday 27th May 2006.
If you are booking online and paying by PayPal, then the FINAL deadline is Saturday 27th May 2006. As payments are processed immediately, we will be able to ship your confirmation slips by Tuesday 30th May 2006 first class so they will reach you by Thursday 1st June 2006 at the latest.
Please note that we can not guarantee to process bookings after these deadlines or dispatch confirmation slips in time for the event, especially with the bank holiday at the end of May, so you may be disappointed or not receive your slips in time.
With regards to on-the-door places, we will post details on the Auto Assembly website, forum and issue details through all major Transformers websites as to the number of on-the-door places available on Saturday 27th April 2006 should there be any. However, these will be on a first-come, first-served basis so we would advise that you arrive at the convention early to ensure your best chance of admission to the convention. If in doubt, pre-register.
Auto Assembly: Target 2006 is now FIVE WEEKS away... there are no other Transformers conventions planned for the UK for 2006 so this is your only chance to attend an event this year unless you are planning on travelling overseas. We are still in talks to bring further guests to the convention in addition to the NINE already confirmed and we hope to have more activities to announce shortly, not to mention the now infamous goodie bag that all attendees will receive full of free gifts!
As there are now only three weeks before the postal bookings cut-off, please ensure that you send your bookings to us NOW to avoid disappointment!
Simon and Sven,
Auto Assembly: Target 2006

We have received another update from Malin Huffman about Iacon One. He is encouraging everyone to take advantage of their 'early bird' pre-registering. Here is Malin's message:
"If you're been putting off pre-registering to attend Iacon One this July, now's the perfect time to act...
Our 'early bird' pre-reg pricing for attendees and dealers is good through May 1.
If you visit our web site, you can register online or print out the registration form and mail it in with check/money order payment (must be postmarked by May 1, or submitted online by midnight, May 2 - Pacific Time, for discount price.)
Over the coming weeks, you'll hear more details about Iacon One -
More of our exciting guest lineup covering television, comics, and toys, joining our first two featured guests - voice actress Venus Terzo ("Blackarachnia") and writer Bob Budiansky (Transformers - Marvel Comics.)
And you'll get a special preview of our convention-exclusive Beast Wars-themed accessory souvenir set. After getting samples for this set back from the manufacturer, I can say with confidence I believe every Beast Wars fan will want them...
We're working hard to produce a high quality convention WE'D want to attend as fans.
Remember, by pre-registering early, you can really help us plan for the right number of attendees, and help us line up even MORE cool guests and fan activities - with the confidence that there will be attendees to enjoy them, and that it's worth the expense to add them to our roster.
Thanks for all your support and we hope you'll join us at Iacon One!"

There are some new rumors surrounding the upcoming Transformers movie. These new rumors are about characters that will be in the movie. Some of the names and alt modes may shock you. Exile of
Joesightings.com first reported that he saw the proofs for the height ratios and color proofs. He all said that the Decepticons that would appear in the movie would be Megatron, Vortex, Scorponok, Starscream, Bonecrusher, Devastator and Brawl, while the Autobots in the film are Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet, Bumblebee and Jazz. Then today, Wonkimus_Major of
Don Murphy's Message Board has claimed the following was given to him by film insiders:
"Brawl--a police car (for a chase scene)
Devastator--M1 Abrams tank (and a single bot)
Bonecrusher--Mine clearing vehicle"
"
And then T.V. of
Transformerslive.com reported the following:
"AUTOBOTS
Optimus Prime (semi)
Ratchet (ambulance, not an emergency vehicle or firetruck)
Ironhide (pickup truck)
Jazz (sports car)
Bumblebee (Chevrolet Camaro, possibly a '70s/'80s model)
DECEPTICONS
Megatron (tank, presumably)
Starscream (F-22)
Vortex (helicopter)
Soundwave (bastard version - a.k.a Kennywave)
Scorponok (minion)
Brawl (police car)
Devestator (tank)
Bonecrusher (Mine clearing vehicle)"
Now none of this has been confirmed, so pay attention to the
news section for further updates.

Many of the Transformers fans know about the bigger and more well known fan conventions such as Auto Assembly and BotCon. However, there are other conventions for Transformers fans to attend as well. One of the newer ones that will be taking place this year is
Iacon One which is being put on by the Stasis Lock Group.
The event is shaping up to be one of the best conventions of the year. To learn more about the event Hotrod contacted Malin Huffman. Mr. Huffman was kind enough to agree to do an interview to fill us all in on Iacon One. Here's Hotrod's interview with
Malin Huffman.
