Um, I'm fairly certain this is being marketed by Hasbro Asia, not Takara. If it's from Takara, it would've had "Takara" tampo'd on the stand, not "Hasbro".

With DOTM "Year of the Dragon" OP and Hong Kong Metroplex being the peculiar exceptions, TransformersAsia.com promotes Takara's Asian exclusives.Mindmaster wrote:Sabrblade wrote:This should not be mistaken for the Platinum Edition "Year of the Snake" figure since this is TakaraTomy while the Platinum Edition/"Year of the Chinese Zodiac Animal" toys are Hasbro Asia.

If this is a Hasbro Asia release, then it's another oddity for this site to promote it.

Huh. Could've sworn Transformers Asia was run by Hasbro. Whoops.

Seriously... it might be time to divest myself of all Movie and TF Prime figures and invest solely in Masterpieces.

The latter is chrome (as it was on all previous releases), the former is not (it's just shiny due to the lighting).dragons wrote:Is it me or does his moutpiece, and door cover over matrix leadershil look chrome looking to anyone

Not at all. The faceplate is painted as it has in his previous releases, and the Matrix's cover panel has always been chromed.

However it's great that people who initially missed out on him get another shot at getting him. Hopefully the same will be true for MP-11.

What's the stand like in hand? To me it looks quite cheap and nasty.

The ball joints are all stiff and sturdy. I haven't used it with large MPs, in fact I've only used it for BH voyager OP and a notInsecticon so far but it's definitely ok for medium size figures.

Megazarak wrote:Would it be too much to ask for a domestic reissue? The number of these on store shelves was pathetic... especially in Canada (something like 2-4 per store)... You'd think if they made lots of any Masterpiece figure it would be Optimus. And no the YotH version (if this is truly what it is) is not something I'd like over a regular Optimus. Oh, and the stand would be nice as well.
If it helps MP10 is shelf warming nicely in the UK.

That hurts my soul.
Trade you a TRU Soundwave?

It's a TakaraTomy Asia exclusive. The "Year of the Chinese Zodiac animal" figures are Hasbro Asia products.
