So far all I'm seeing are tons of photos from Botcon!(not that that's a bad thing mind), but are there no YouTube videos from it available yet?

Groove'll probably also be repurposed into technobot Afterburner too!

Sorry Hasbro, I'm calling you out on this one.

This could have been the perfect chance to give us a Bulletbike or Override homage, but instead you make a crappy version of a toy/figure/character when there was already a pretty much perfect Wreck-Gar out there.

Anyone else bummed we didn't see any ____? How long until we find out what scale Titan Wars figures will be? Any chance we can get G1 style guns for existing and future CW/TW figures other than Takara Devastator? Which seekers look better displayed with other masterpiece scale figures, the new Jetfire mold seekers? Should I hold out for Hasbro voyager class dinobots, or invest in the new third party voyager/classics scale dino combiners from Toyworld (Corelock, etc.)?

* Voyager Devastator/Constructicons
* Voyager Scourge
* Voyager or Leader Galvatron
* Voyager Sharkticon
* Voyager Cyclonus
* Voyager Megatron
* Voyager or Leader Shockwave

TakaraTomy will be releasing Legends Groove as Adventure Override, but we don't know the colors yet.

Well I'm assuming that they'll be anything from CW Devastator upwards! to Generations Metroplex! at least I'm hoping that Fort Max is at least Gen Plex sized

I'm not disappointed at all because we already got great molds of those figures ,so we don't really need new molds for those characters but iys most unlikely we will get new guns for devastator so u should go the takara route for that and probably for titan wars most of the figures won't be titan class due to many reasons though ,and for the dinobots u probably shouldn't just wait ti get dinobots it will happen eventually

I am pretty sure that most of titan wars figures wouldn't be titan class (i am presicting this statement could be wrong) but the reason i say that it because if most of them were titan class we wouldn't have a real spot for them in our collection plus the cost would be an issue :/

Very true....but in Devastators case....the figures that make up Dev...are all Voyager Class! well...apart from Long Haul...who's almost touching the Leader Class end of the Voyager scale.

+ I just hope that Fort Max doesn't turn out to be a heavy retool of Gen Plex! that's my worry....or even if deluxes & voyagers combine to FORM a Fort Max....that's my worry too

Also, why did we get a leader class Megatron that towers over the flat-chested combiner Optimus Prime, but doesn't really fit in with masterpiece figures? Can we expect to be offered a leader class Optimus that displays well with the tank Megatron?

We're still in need of a Generations scale insecticon Kickback figure to display with the other two.

I agree we'll likely get an assortment of different scaled figures in Titan Wars as we did in Combiner Wars.

He might be! There's nothing to suggest that that's out of the question! remember....FOC Bruticus! he was sold as a box set AND individually at TRU(that's where I picked mine up from) & they were individually sold, but we just don't know yet! & at places like Comicons & online toy stores....YES you'll definitely have the option of buying him as a box set.

just don't know how TRU are going to be selling those yet as.

That's not really how it works: The FoC Combaticons were meant from the start to be sold individually. The CW Constructicons are not, as they're in a set all the time, even in general retail. Besides, there's no room for the individuals in the main line, as there's a limited number of slots per size class per year. For 2015 it's:

11 Legends
16 Deluxes
6 Voyagers

I'm expecting the same for 2016.

I would really prefer the ability to have two seperate robot animals for Skylynx, but I will say that it is certainly one of the most fun new designs in the Transformers brand now. Very Yusha, very Japanese. Makes me want to have this toy feature in an animated feature to let it have fun. Weapons look like they form a double bladed sword for combined mode. I'm not a fan of the chosen limb robots, personally would have been more excited to see some stuff that better matched the colour scheme and had a more japanese vibe carried over as well. I'm a little disappointed that he sacrifices my favourite gimmick of his design for a combiner mode, but at least the kept him equally as fun and silly an idea as Skylynx really is. I'll likely buy this if I see it in person and I'm hopefully to see what Takara does with this. Betcha oodles of Chrome and maybe a different team.?

I understand that that would have been fufilling,but having seen the split modes, the cat mode looked weak and the scrawny bird legs were never desirable aesthetically to me. I like that they managed to 'repurpose' the cat mode for the combined mode, feels like a nice easter egg, instead of just discarding it completely.

I'm actually close to being impressed.
Still not pleased with what they pulled on the Fan Combiner but at least now I can start over with the building of my G1 tribute characters since they appear to be releasing quite a few of the characters that I missed out on in their first go-round in Generations. What with the selection of Legends figures over the past year or two making up the mini-car line up and now the upcoming figures, they should make for quite the display. It just sucks that there will be more repaints and re-tools than the first 5 years of G1 put together. Very cheap and lazy on the part of Hasbro and it will ruin the look of a great many of these figures and probably discourage me from getting some of them.

Great job on the Shockwave figure. I'm a little disappointed that he's so small but I realize that it is quite necessary to keep him in scale with the Combiners so it is actually a brilliant thing they have done when looked at in that respect.

The combined wasn't really epic but we don't know if he splits yet plus you can probably still flip out the head while sky lynx is in his normal form from what it seems

Do I want a little Wreck Gar that barely looks like the character at all or do I want that actually pretty cool Deluxe figure from a few years back that does a fantastic job in updating him? Hasbro you really have gone a bit too combiner-happy with all this. Stop it.

I'm still a bit tempted by Sky Lynx but is he really lacking the splitting apart feature of the original despite many parts of each mode (including both heads) being present? If so I'm wondering if there are ways to customise that. And would it have been a feature if he hadn't been made into a Combiner?

You mean, apart from the fact that they came out ages ago and can only be gotten through alternative methods, or through expensive TT re-releases?

What makes you think Sky Lynx is a retool, of Silverbolt at that? Looks like an all new mold to me, honestly.

Have you even SEEN his alt mode? http://www.collectiondx.com/files/cwskyreign2.jpg

Clearly a very heavy retool, + your willing to accept OTHER retools & remolds that are coming out....but cannot accept the fact that Sky Lynx MAY be a heavy retool of Silverbolt!(like they did with Cyclonus) + other people have made the same claim! so where's your definitive proof that this is an original mold? listen! maybe your right! Or maybe I am! We won't know until we hear something definitive.

but in the meantime....he deffo looks like a heavy retool to me.

Not a retool, if you compare the undercarriage and how it transforms:

IF it is a retool, everything has changed with it... from the undercarriage to the legs to the shuttle being affixed to the top, so even if it was, its so vastly and completely different that it may as well be considered a new mold.

So Sky Lynx is a combiner now and if I remember correctly his rival was Predaking. So can this almost be considered as a Predaking confirmation? Also I wonder who is going to be the wave 5 combiner. They seem to be alternating autobot and decepticon combiners, so with optimus Maximus being wave 4, it stands to reason that a decepticon combiner is next.

Doesn't matter: Bruticus is next in line after Optimus Maximus, no combiners inbetween. I should also add that releases for "Spring 2016" can come as early as Christmas.

So if the last wave of the year (optimaximus) for normal teams (Dev doesnt count) is going to be here (online) by, what, July; what does this mean for the rest of the year? will online retail be getting Bruticus by September or October? Will Skyreign be online by December? Or will there be a dearth of figures until they actually trickle into brick and mortar stores and Bruticus won't be available until Jan/Feb of next year?

Yep. To add insult to injury. :P

Seriously this thing needs to be put out of it's misery. It just looks like someone's first ever attempt at a custom figure. But even then they'd probably do a better job of making it resemble Wreck Gar some more in general paint scheme at least.

I got a couple of them off eBay pretty cheaply and even if they cost a bit more you're still likely getting a far superior rendition of the character to the pale imitations forced into this line.

Admittedly having done just this at Botcon yesterday for Nightviper and BW Injector, its possible to get them off places like ebay, but that fluctuates, so it isn't always reliable. My point was that they were some of the first figures updated, so being pushed into combiner wars is at least rational. However, I stand by my point that I don't want them and would have rather gotten different/more obscure characters with cool/interesting paint jobs. (not being a G1'er I just want my figures to look cool; so I'd be down for Hound for the mold and Mirage for the solidity of the mold - one of my favorites - but they are all a little bland >:oP )

Why does everyone seem to think that HasTak can throw out new molds at no extra cost? If they don't use a mold several times, then they make no money off of it.

Weirdness will be if they retool Sky Lynx into Transformers Prime Predaking, so that he can combine with Predacons, to make... Predaking?

Side note: Is it strange that I kind of wish Sky Lynx's combined form wasn't anthropomorphic?

If you look at the outlines of Fort Max on the banner, don't those forearms look a little familiar? I think it is a Metroplex retool....

Depending on the mistransformation ability, you might be able to swing an oversized quadruped out of him

Well FOC Shockwave was very G1 with the Torso and head, just added wings and a fatter weapon.

This could have been the perfect chance to give us a Bulletbike or Override homage, but instead you make a crappy version of a toy/figure/character when there was already a pretty much perfect Wreck-Gar out there.

I wouldnt call a toy prone to breakage perfect. Also we had an amazing Onslaught (universe) but no one's complaining about the new one we got. I dont much like this Wreck Gar either due to its size but I would very much like a new one that didnt have exposed hands, that wasnt prone to breakage and that fit well together. The "perfect" one we got wasnt that perfect to me.

We do:

Devastator is not getting an individual release for his components by Hasbro. The box set is intended for regular retail release (unlike what was the case for the examples you stated).

steals_your_goats wrote:So Sky Lynx is a combiner now and if I remember correctly his rival was Predaking. So can this almost be considered as a Predaking confirmation? Also I wonder who is going to be the wave 5 combiner. They seem to be alternating autobot and decepticon combiners, so with optimus Maximus being wave 4, it stands to reason that a decepticon combiner is next.

While it was established that there wasnt that pattern, Hasbro also has shown us that the combiners dont all share the same scale. While G1 had a bunch of combiners, only those from scramble city have been redone in the combiner wars scale of 4 deluxes and a voyager. Devastator wasnt part of that scale and thus isnt made to be anyone's rival in the line and while Predaking was made of 5 robots, He was not part of scramble city in G1 and wasnt made up of 4 smaller bots and a bigger one (they were all very big bots of the same size). If I were a betting man, I would think Predaking would end up getting a titan release eventually rather than just be another scramble city combiner since he was never that (unlike Abominus, Computron and Piranacon)

That last line of yours goes against a lot of what Hasbro has done in the past. Does this mean Hasbro made no money off Leader Sentinel Prime, or animated Sentinel Prime, or HFTD Leader Starscream, or DOTM Voyager Megatron, or the recent Waspinator, Scoop, Rhinox, Brainstorm, Rattrap, Generations Minicon 3 pack and on and on and on.

I think it looks weird too, though it might be better served for a LioKaiser redeco by the club (I would rather have that than a "Bludgeon combiner").

I totally agree on that, thats what I thought of right away. Both seem to be cybertronian scapeship/cannon hybrids.

ZeroWolf wrote:With regards to the autobot cars, the kids will love them. I do have to wonder if these will have any effect on fiction or if that is over and done with (as sub par as it turned out)

Exactly. I think these new CW Autobots will be a perfect transitional line for the likes of my soon to be 5 year-old nephew. He loves his Rescue Bots, but has lately been watching old G1 episodes on demand. I'd love to give him some of the classic characters, but at his age and skill level, a LOT of the Classics/Universe 2.0/early Generations stuff is too advanced for him. The CW stuff is simplified, but still looks very good, is sturdy, and has a lot of playability options. My nephew isn't going to care that Prowl doesn't have door wings behind his shoulders. He'll get the connection between the character and the toy, just like we did back in G1. Many of the original toys usually looked very little like their animation models anyway.

This Wreckgar is a bit too small and nondescript.I believe we had an amazing generations figure a few years ago. I don't see the need, but I could be wrong.

To take umbrage means to show offense to, and or become resentful and/or angry towards a differing opinon.

You see, "umbrage" means shade or shadow, and "throwing shade" means making social drama or dumping on someone for non-constructive purposes, and...oh, never mind. :P

What I meant by that is that it isn't that good of a business desicion to make a mold if they only use it once or twice. Naturally, they would try to use molds several times to offset the costs of making said mold. Why else did they take already existing toys and slap new colors on them?

I get you but I wanted to point out that they could still be economically fine by doing unique molds like they did last year. We were even ok with them puling this retool deal this year but it seems it extends to next year with the only truly new molds announced are Skylynx and Brawl. By making every single mold reused multiple times it kind of crosses the line between business savy and downright greedy. Takara just announced an Optimus Primal Masterpiece toy as well as a Leader Class RID/TAV Optimus and these are two inhouse molds that dont seem to be made to be reused. And you dont see them perish and go bankrupt.
