I find so few things appealing about this line.
Posted by Robogeek1973 on December 8th, 2014 @ 2:21pm CST
The others are ok for what they are I suppose. The line definitely isn't for me though.

I was hopeful of Strongarm, but these images are starting to turn me away. Her character model looks athletic-ish; her figure is Chunky McBeefcakes. Me no like. I guess I'll wait for what reviewers will have to say before making a final call.
I wasn't going to get Grimlock no matter what, but I will say he looks the best of the bunch.
Jesus H. Christ, what a train wreck Steeljaw shouldn't be. He and Strongarm were the only ones I was going to get... But good God, I can strike Steeljaw off that list and put a question mark by Strongarm.
Posted by Evil Eye on December 8th, 2014 @ 2:25pm CST
Steeljaw actually looks kinda cool though, and looks a lot less hollow. I mean yeah he's spindly but he looks less like he's trying to pretend to be solid whilst actually being a flimsy shell, instead embracing full-on wiryness.

If they were 9.99, I could be more inclined to pick them up. As it is now I will probably wait for them to just go on sale.
I am looking forward to seeing more of Drift. And I like the repaint possibilities of some of the figures like Grimlock, which would be cool to see painted as Overkill.

my opinions
Grimlock should have been a Voyager class
no complaints on strong arm or bumblebee
i hope Optimus gets a Voyager treatment with Good articulation
i could see Bisk getting the deluxe treatment with a similar arm movement at Armada Deluxe class Sideswipe or a retool of P-rid Cliff-Jumper

I have no interest in the others, not even Strongarm right now.

Steeljaw looks like a mess, but I kind of like the design, so he's a maybe. They'd better make a Bisk figure if they're making Steeljaw.
The rest don't interest me.

Not feeling this line though. Might check out some legions, just because I like that scale.

You know, kinda like Airazor, Blackarachnia, Overrun from Cybertron...

Robogeek1973 wrote:Has there been any mention of this line having Voyagers yet? I'd be all in for Grimlock if he were to get a bigger toy, but as is he's just too puny.
So far, only the first two waves of Warrior class (new Deluxe) figures have been announced. Nothing on there being a Voyager class.

Seconding the whole waiting for these to hit clearance shelf. Thats what seemed to happen to the last bit of Transformers Prime. I am going to guess that the AOE Clearance will be happening in the next few months also.

Madeus Prime wrote:I really dig Steeljaw's vehicle form, very badass. Bumblebee looks just like a chunkier version of PRID Vehicon. Grimlock sucks because he's not the real Grimlock. Strongarm I'm going to pickup because my fembots need some more members.
Just because the RID15 Grimlock isn't like the past versions doesn't mean he isn't a Grimlock. He still has a lot of elements that makes him the same character we know which the toy even has the almost same transformation scheme of the original G1 toy. They're just doing a new direction for him like how Optimus in TFA is different from the other versions yet till has the important elements of the character. Besides the original 2001 RID Grimlock was just a nameslap which is even further from the Grimlock we know.

You know, kinda like Airazor, Blackarachnia, Overrun from Cybertron...
I've thought this myself, but she is rather busty, and has a sweet face. I like that she isn't overly feminine. She is a warrior and built as such. Not to say skinny girls can't wope arse, I'm just all about that bass.
I think Airazor was always intended to be female. Japanese love their super heroins.

Grim-lock could possibly be used as a new figure for either G1 or SG or Overkill, ripper-snapper
Bumblebee- possibly retool it for Armada Hotshot in either Energon Or Cybertron Flavors ( hard time thinking what the mold could be used for)
Strong arm i have no clue to use the mold for. Over-haul maybe with some retooling and give it the blades from steel jaw
steel Jaw - my head hurts now

Sheesh, yeah, that line is kid friendly, get over it. We collectors have the whole Generations line, Platinums, and MP. So, let Timmy have his TFs.
I kinda like these figures. They are like a mix of Prime, Animated, and Rescue Bots. Also, these seem to be of a decent size for deluxes. The only thing I find odd are the faction symbols that are huge with a ring of random writing around.

Looks like they're pulling an Angry Birds Transformers on this one: you get the figure, download some app, scan their symbols with whatever device you're using, and you can play as the character whose toy you just bought.

they can be scanned by a smart device, and have some sort of interactivity with game play.
I think.

It's clearly going to get remolded into a Vehicon. Look at the transformation and chest design guys. If this series is in the same universe as Prime, you can expect, for cost purposes, there to be disposable genericons that are basically repaints of another character.

I actually got to agree, it's nice to see a fembot that isn't model thin and sneaky looking like Arcee or Blackarachnia. I think Strika was a bit overkill though if you ask me.

Hey, I'm all for big mama TFs!

Hoping the 2015 Rid toys don't make any Voyager, Ultra, leader and Supreme toys. Rather HasTak save all of the bigger toys for the 2015 Generations and CW toys.

i have seen tiny portions of BM and i would definitely agree with you Madeus that Strika was overkill (overkill sounds like a name for a decepticon... )

Siger wrote:Way too kiddish looking for my taste. Good transformations though. Why is Bumblebee holding the Starsaber?
Because Bumblebee is considered the leader of the series, not Optimus Prime. Don't know the exact role of Optimus, but expect him to be more of a mentor than anything else.
