More Images of Bumblebee Movie Evasion Mode Optimus Prime Toy Show it to be a New Mold

Now that is weird, it looks awesome, but still...weird. If hasbro were to bring this over, how would they advertise it?

Whats weird is that Takara and Hasbro both share the studio series line, so if it would be studio series, why wouldnt Takara release it through taht instead of their own BUmblebee movie line?

I am thinking if Hasbro releases it, it would be an exclusive, like the amazon stuff we saw. Target has its own BB exclusive toys, this could be amazon's.

It might be me but this figure reminds me of the Wei Jiang Masterpice KO of Evasion prime. Particularly the wheels, note how, like WJ, one of the rear wheels clearly rotates around the knee, giving prime 2 wheels at the hips and one at the ankle, like trilogy prime.

Finding that Optimus in store, I'd buy it. But if I have to just order it online, it's an easy pass. For me, such a figure would be an impulse of the moment purchase only.

Funny that some folk are complaining that with all those changes it's STILL only got one truck mode smokestack.

Not sure why the feet are grey/white inside. Serves no purpose in robot mode and makes the feet rather obvious in truck mode.

Because normally, a truck barely have anything on the back. And the little there is is either bare metal or unpainted. So I guess that's what they are going for.

I'm just weirdly excited for Speed Series/Legends Bug Bee and Barricade!

Japan has one of its biggest toys shows happening right now, Wonderfest Summer, and while we had some juicy reveals for you MP fans, the Takara releases of the toys tying in with the Bumblebee film were also on display. This includes the Studio Series of course, since the more collector oriented toys for the film will also be released in the Stdio Series line in Japan. There is one exception that that is the puzzling but awesome new Evasion Mode Optimus Prime toy that seems Takara exclusive at the moment. Its proper name is Legendary Optimus Prime and while previous images revealed it to be a new mold, different from the previous release, other images show it to be bigger than the original release as well. We included an image of the previous Evasion Mode Optimus toy next to Masterpiece Cheetor as reference. The Takara display at Wonderfest does not help us more with the scale though, since the toys he is shown next to are the big gimmicky Bumblebee movie toy, who's scale is still not assessed, and a much elevated Movie Masterpiece Ironhide. However, it was stated on Twitter that "legenday Optimus prime is humongous after all" so that should help clarify things. You can see that specific tweet here along with the images that we posted below, which also partly come from Dengeki Hobby.

Well, it seems that the large gimmicky bumblebee and the legendary optimus prime have similar packaging, which, to me, implies that we might get an American release of him in the same class as that bumblebee figure.

It is a perfect deformation figure of Bumblebee popular character of Autobot appearing in the new movie "Bumblebee". It is Bumblebee which I mimicked as a yellow Camaro in the movie so far, but in this movie I mimic it as a yellow Volkswagen and it is active. It is possible to wear a battle mask of the head, withdraw weapons from the left arm, different sounds are activated in the vehicle mode and robot mode, and the gimmick of the front light is also carried.

That big Bug Bee is a MUST WANT for me. Skipping on MP Ironhide and I'd take the deluxe Bug Bee only when on sale. As for the Optimus, it could be a "must buy" but only if I can find it live in store.

It's amazing how different the marketing is between the two on the large Bee. Hasbro is all, "check out all the things this figure can do. The lights, the sounds, the play value! It's also not bad looking, but listen to those movie sounds!" while Takara Tomy is like, "Check out how detailed this figure is! It's big and has pop out weapons and a battle mask! Oh, and it has light sand sounds or something too, but just look at how cool it is!"

My interests in that Big Bee was FIRST how it look. The think look fantastic. Even better than the deluxe. And I don't give a crap about the innacuracy of the center part of the chest. That's what the MP will be for.

The second reason why I want this be the most are indeed all the gimmicks. It will go very well with my Battle Ops bumblebee and my Weaponiser Prime talking black Bee.

Good indication of intended target audiences, I suppose!

Hm I kinda wish the Studio Bee's lower legs were as compact and tidy as those on the large gimmick figure but overall it looks great for the size. I also kinda wish the CGI Bee model had the door-wings the toys have cos I find him a bit odd looking the trailer without them. Movie Bee had the wings for so long that it's strange when they're gone.

Any likelihood we will see that Leader Optimus in the rusty colors?

The funny thing here is that the big Bee, to me at least, appears to be better than the SS one, despite being a larger, supposedly gimmick toy. It looks great!

I'm curious how much engineering if much at all the two different size Bumblebees share.
