I see a lot of questions on the boards and with the recent shows and images surfacing online, I thought having everything in one place could help, at least as a reference.

Firstly, this line is basically Combiner Wars 2.0 with Prime Master Integration, and the Prime Masters use the very same ports as the Titan Masters from Titans Return.

Here are the 5 different classes and their suggested prices (which has increased from Titans Return for a few classes). Please remember that these are Hasbro's suggested prices to retailers based on the average retailer's cost and subsequent markup. They can be higher or lower depending on the retailer.

Prime Master: Approx. Retail Price: $5.99

There will be 12 in total comping out in the line (as far as we have been told) and each one will be a small robot which turns into a symbol representing on of the Primes. Everyone of these small robots have the same size and playability as Titan Masters. They each come in a with a small suit that homages a G1 pretender and which can turn into a weapon. The Prime Masters can also plug into the combiner hands and feet when they are used as armour, and they can also plug into the Matrix found in each leader class figure.

Transformers News: Rundown on Everything There is to Know about Power of the Primes: When, How Much and Wave Contents

Legends Class: Approx. Retail Price: $9.99

These are very similar to the legends class we got in Titans Return where most have a port to attach a Titan/Prime Master. There is no indication that these will turn into weapons, like some did in Combiner Wars. Their interaction in this line's ecosystem is with the Prime Masters.

Transformers News: Rundown on Everything There is to Know about Power of the Primes: When, How Much and Wave Contents

Deluxe Class Approx. Retail Price: $19.99

Every Deluxe class toy in this line can turn into an arm or a leg to combine with a voyager torso. Each Deluxe comes with a combiner hand which can plug into its body as some sort of shield or power up.

Transformers News: Rundown on Everything There is to Know about Power of the Primes: When, How Much and Wave Contents

Voyager Class Approx. Retail Price: $29.99

Every Voyager in this line can turn into a combiner torso to combine with the deluxe arms and legs. They each come with two combiner feet which plug onto their forearms as power gauntlets, as well as an engima of combination.

Transformers News: Rundown on Everything There is to Know about Power of the Primes: When, How Much and Wave Contents

Leader Class Evolution Approx. Retail Price: $49.99

To our current knowledge, every Leader Class in this line has an evolution gimmick (hence the word's inclusion in the size class name) where a smaller robot combines with parts of his alt mode and turns into a larger robot. Each of these so far are based on actual evolutions that have happened in Transformers fiction, turning a character into his evolved form. Each comes with a matrix which is Titan/Prime Master compatible.

Transformers News: Rundown on Everything There is to Know about Power of the Primes: When, How Much and Wave Contents

Titan Class Predaking (price yet to be revealed, though $150 price point is assumed)

This toy has yet to be fully revealed but from what we know it will be made of the 5 Predacons, and sport the traditional G1 colours. Each Predacon will all be around the voyager size, much like the previous Constructicons. His interaction in this line's ecosystem is that he can store both a matrix and the enigma of combination (and thus, any Titan/Prime Master)

So with those assumed prices, and adjusting for the USD to CAD exchange rate, I'll need $847.79 for all the ones I want to buy over the course of the next year. Holy crap.

Is it even worth putting price points in these? Last knight and TR were first announced 19.99 but I never spent more than 14.99 on a deluxe for either. Walmart still carries all deluxes for that price. Same with voyagers. 22.99-24.99 I never paid $30 for a single voyager. Even at target when people were showing a $30 price on TR voyagers my targets and I have 10 in my city and around it all sold them for 22-24.99

I preffer showing the official info and people being happy that they end up paying less than showing a low price which people may not get if they go to, say, toysrus. Plus we have no clue if Walmart will keep the same prices and not everyone has Walmart (like the 10 million people living in manhattan). Many in the US are stuck ordering online and they charge exactly the prices listed above: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/V ... ails/55418

This still gives the best idea of the possible price for a line that has had 0 retail sightings so far.

Then you better hope TRU Canada and their monthly TF sales stick around. It could be 20%-40% less than that.

Not all Walmarts. I paid $30 for Nitro Zues, so some of them clearly go with what their market can bear.

^Exactly, though the big chains are national, (international even...) prices are largely regional. Also there are so many discounts, sales, coupons, promos etc...if one is patient, you can usually get them for less than MSRP, but listing them at Hasbro's suggested US MSRP (others in different countries know what there MSRP usually is) is what makes the most sense.

Thanks for the rundown, WJ-88. It's a nice summary of things to come with Power of the Primes. Now, we play the waiting game. At least there's going to be plenty of Takara Legends and Masterpiece releases over the next few months to fill the gap.

Man, Windcharger is still a pain to look at. He'd be a perfectly fine figure - if a bit basic, but still pretty cool - if it weren't for that awful head. I'm actually looking forward to the toy-accurate Tailgate because of how bad Windcharger's headsculpt is and how good the rest of the toy looks!

And still no Hubcap on the horizon.

It is assumed that they basically split Battletrap in two and gave each alt mode their own robot that possibly combine together into Battletrap.

All we have to go on is the slides from the leak that shall not be posted here because Hasbro is our friend. And those slides were poor quality placeholders, so all we really have to go on are the names.

I'm more excited about the Prime Masters and Legion Class figures simply because of the Prime Master riding the Alt Mode play pattern. (or basically, the Titan Master gimmick was more fun than the Combiner Wars gimmick for me and my son).

For me, it is the face and not the head itself. The overall shape of the head matches the original cartoon pretty well. But that face, I don't even think a mother could love that.

Just a slight addendum WJ... ;)

Wave 4: Between end September 2018 and end of December 2018

Deluxe: Novastar (unconfirmed), Blackwing, Dinobot Slug, & Rippersnapper

I know its hardly complete but it was on one slide and has one new bot (unconfirmed) that was not in the other waves.

For Combiner Wars, Hasbro had May Mayhem and Boxed Sets in addition to the general line. For Titans Return, Walgreen's had Brainstorm as an exclusive but the case number points to it maybe being part of the general retail assortment. They've also got the Clone set coming. Plus the Chaos and Siege sets at TRU And BBTS. Is it too early to speculate on what individual and boxed exclusives could be for Power of the Primes?

Out of the first three waves, I plan to buy Jazz, Elita-1, Optimus Primal, all of the Dinobots and all of the Prime Masters. Dreadwind, DarkBlackwing Duck, Optimus Prime and Moonracer are on the maybe pile, and I can live without the rest.
It would be a shame if Novastar really is the only new thing in Wave 4. I do hope having only one new toy in the last wave of the year doesn't become a regular thing going forward.

What's wrong with the Dinobots in this new line? They look fantastic and very G1 faithful. Their "gimmicks" aren't obtrusive. In fact, combiner pegs and ports are hidden even better now than they were in the Combiner Wars line. If you don't want to combine your Dinobots, then don't! If you want to ignore the combiner hands/chest armor that come with the deluxes, do so! You can just put the combiner feet that come with Grimlock into a box too. Display your toys how you want to. Getting proper "Classics" updates of the original Dinobot team has been a LONG time coming, and if you pass on these, it'll probably be many, many years before you get another shot at this, if ever again, honestly.

We have the rumored Wreck-Gar at Walgreens. Probably Groove with modest retooling and the new hand style. Honestly, Groove isn't far off from the G1 animation model. A new head and maybe a hint of guns in the breastplate.

I suspect if we're seeing SDCC and/or Botcon, they'll be shared TRU exclusives. And if there's a set, probably a repurposed RiD or TR mold to fill it out. Probably character overlap with retail.

New RiD Bludgeon might make a good candidate.

Gotta say one of my dream figures is Devcon from TR Scourge with a Blurr head. I like in general the trend with Elita-One, TM Arcee, Straxus, Jhiaxus, etc. of Hasbro releasing G1 characters who never had a mass release toy. For that matter, maybe a Lifeline/Paradron from TR Arcee's tooling. In general, some of the bigger unfinished business IMHO are those characters who never had a toy, excluding Botcon/TFCC.

Cheap cartoon from underpaid animators accuracy is not a good point/arguments for me, it's more than the contrary.

I'm pretty sure Jelze figure out that it isn't a double port, but something like an extra 5mm post that one of them has and the other clips onto.

Exactly. The square Combiner peg is not used for the Dreadwing combo, besides, the Deluxes aren't big enough to accommodate at least two of them.

Of course most importantly, that method of connection - while stopping other figures from connecting similarly, like we'd initially thought and hoped they could - will not prevent the possibility of making a gigantic two-robot mess of an arm from the Dreadwing guys.

So I mean, we could theoretically get 6-bot combiners using the combination devised here, but just... not even close to the way you'd want :-P

My problem with Windcharger's head isn't that it matches how he looked in the cartoon, actually. It's that it doesn't match how he looked in the cartoon.

Image

It's not a head jutting out from a slab; it's a face-in-a-box deal, sort of like Motormaster. It's not an amazing head design, but it's perfectly fine and looks pretty good and fits the overall aesthetic of both him and his cohorts. Both his CHUG toys so far have captured the face-in-box thing pretty well too (though in my opinion, CW pulls it off much better than RTS).

Image

Image

And when you bring up the cartoon screenshot (like I did up there) alongside these previous efforts and then alongside the new one... it really starts to show that the headsculpt isn't just bad, it does not capture his likeness in the cartoon at all.

But as of right now, we interpret whatever isnt confirmed the same way we did rumours from Titans Return before the line began, which we were also allowed to talk about. Hence why whatever hasnt been shown elsewhere is written as unconfirmed in my rundown.

And in any case, that leak is almost obsolete, at least for the line pertaining to this thread. The info I broke down is mainly all we know anyways with most pics being placeholders or totally unclear.

And O Supreme, I left out that wave 4 deluxe wave because the main purpose of my post was to make things as easy and straightforward as possible to any user. Its a resource people can bookmark if ever they wonder the time frame or how much a retailer might charge if they want to budget. We dont know if thats all wave 4 is, and I didnt want to confuse anyone so I preffered just sticking to the full waves and we can discuss the rest in the comments as we are all wonderfully doing :)

And when you bring up the cartoon screenshot (like I did up there) alongside these previous efforts and then alongside the new one... it really starts to show that the headsculpt isn't just bad, it does not capture his likeness in the cartoon at all.

Good comparison Kurona! I had the feeling that I would've remembered if Windcharger looked that dumb in the cartoon, but I hadn't really bothered checking yet.

That said, PotP Windcharger's face looks sooooo duuuumb. He's got this insanely pouty bored-looking face, like he's sitting on the curb waiting for his parents to finish grocery shopping and take him home. Or maybe he's on time out after getting caught sneaking those Energon cookies

Titan Class Predaking "Fall"

Other Possible Prime Masters:
-Autobots
Groundbreaker
Sky High
Splashdown
-Decepticons
Bugly
Finback
Iguanus
Stranglehold

If we got a new Bugly out of this line, I would be totally hyped for that.

In one of the newest reports there would be 12 Prime Masters with their pretender suits. That would account for all the 'big' pretender shells both Decep and Autobot.

Seems more like paint to me. Watch when Takara releases that with a dark gray helmet with the corehead matching the helmet rather than the face.

This is one of these problems caused by a cartoon (not toy) accurate sculpt being painted up like a G1 toy (which had a full silver face and black visor inside a helmet).

Oh my g- you're RIGHT! I hadn't interpreted it that way, but it totally works if hypothetically done that way in the deco work. I guess I'll just be painting this thing up when I get it, or maybe waiting for the Takara version depending if I can be bothered (they'll definitely do it right, and in this case I'd say there actually is a 'right').

It doesn't fix his stupid expression unfortunately, but it looks like every Windcharger has had a stupid expression after some fashion or another. Now that I feel confident in finding a way around Forehead Boy, I can deal with the face he's making much more easily :D .

Yooooo PHOTOSHOP!

Image

Better. But still not great.

I'm going with, G1 Ironhide and Ratchet have a better head sculpt than this poor Windcharger.

Nicely done! ;)^ I was going to have a go at that myself, but my computer just got revived from the dead yesterday and I had to reinstall Photoshop first - I'm glad you got to it first anyway, 'cause that's probably a better job than I could've done!

Agreed that it's better, but still probably my least favorite of the Windcharger face-sculpts. But hey, at least it looks like the dumb cartoon model now, instead of its own unique extra-concentrated recipe of dumb. *shrug*

But that isn't even a cartoon accurate head, the shape is all wrong and it's missing a lot of details. It should look like his head is inside a box, sort of like a hoodie, this is strangely shaped slab with a face sticking out of it.

This is a Devastator-level bad design.

10 in one city!? There's only 5 in my entire state, one is 11 miles away, after that the nearest is 41 miles and then 70. Same exact story with Walgreens. This is why I find store exclusives so frustrating.

I just hope Predaking comes out all right. I've come to be afraid of Titan class figures as every one has had issues. Hopefully, they won't pull a Devastator and give us Predacons with no elbows because "TEH BUDGET"

I just don't like the $19.99 price for deluxe class, yet I know I will still buy them!

I think he'll turn out alright. Five bots to share the budget compared to six and none of them have to use their arms as heel struts. If anything, I'd be more worried about Razorclaw getting the shaft because of the Matrix/Enigma gimmick.

That's why I'm waiting on :TAKARATOMY:. If Hasbro messes up, or shortcuts, TT will assuredly fix.

Well, they had the help of the schedule there. Hasbro themselves fixed it as well on later releases.

The original point still stands. Although I'm not aware of any issues with Metroplex (since I never got one, have the TT reissue on pre-order), nor issues with Fort Max...

However IMHO, :TAKARATOMY: UW Devastator was decidedly superior to Hasbro's CW Devastator, which is why I waited and got the import. Now I'm not expecting PotP Predaking to have any foreseeable flaws, or limitations due to production budget, but if that does happen to be the case, I'm confident that :TAKARATOMY: will add any possible missing accessories, as has been the case in the past.

Nothing has even been announced yet on their end. Most likely the Prime Masters, and Leader Class PotP figures will be continued in the Legends line, The legends class will either continue with TF Adventure, or since that is ending, perhaps just roll up into Legends. But I am very much hoping for a return of the UW for the Voyager and deluxe figures.
