This release has nothing to do with Hasbro. It's a Takara release.

Did you watch the video? The throne is a Hasbro piece, and it shows. Just flimsy plastic.

He showed the Hasbro logo on the back of the throne box. What he didn't show, and should have, is Grimlock actually sitting on the throne.

i wasnt actually aware of the top to bottom silver paint on him, so thats a bonus! the main reason for me wanting him was the richness of the gold chrome, and the amber blade on the sword. i should have mine late this week or the next... cant wait!

Hahaha nonono. I'm at work and doing a million things at once.
Hmmm... Perhaps this is a hasbro Asia reissue much like the starscream and now the sideswipes? Cause these reissues aren't hitting any of the Japanese retailers.

Yes, I believe this is a Hasbro Asia exclusive, and apparently only in Taiwan!?!? That's why Japanese sellers and Hong Kong sellers are not getting it. Not sure how places like BBTS, TFSource, and Toy Dojo are getting it, but I assume the have contacts/suppliers for Hasbro Asia.
Either way, I love the figure, but at this price point, I need the figure to be perfect, not defective with an assembly error in the arm/leg!

FU HASBRO!!!!!
it will detail all the bs that they have done with their figures over the years.....
that throne is a joke, i was so expecting hard plastic etc.

koolkollectibleskhai wrote:lol yeah probably. But I was so pissed off about that throne, the less I saw of it the better. Once I get the replacement figure, I'll definitely take a pic of it on the throne. I dont want to mess around too much with the defected figure since I'll need to send it back.
I hope you get a replacement without hassle. That's a very much in-demand figure, not sure how much they have in stock, and how many of the pieces are defective. Others are probably having the same problem and want a replacement. And just to be nit-picky, you could have used the MP-08 to sit in the throne to demonstrate.

I would email them again. They usually respond to me in 24 hours. I had a package that suppose to have delivered to me on 12/23/2013 last year but never came.... It took about a month to go through all the investigations with UPS, but I was fully refunded. Although nothing in there was for anyone else but myself but if it were presents for others..... it would've sucked everything took so long.
Instead of exchanging your whole figure maybe you can see if BBTS has an extra part of what you need? they can ship it to you and you can replace it, I'm sure that would be a lot faster.

ive dealt with their customer service a couple times now and found them to be quite helpful.koolkollectibleskhai wrote:About BBTS though, has anyone ever had to deal with them about a replacement? first was an MP tigertrack with a broken hand (they replaced the figure). the second time was a package that was brutally damaged, and had close to 80 bucks in customs on top of that (no toys actually damaged, and they gave me a $80 credit).
all they need is details, and pictures. theyre pretty forthcoming after that. and it was always 24 hours response for me, so i agree that you should email them again.

Yeah, they just emailed me and asked if it was OK if they sent me a replacement arm that I could swap out. They said they asked me this because I am in Australia, so I assume the cost of shipping a new figure etc isn't something they'd want to do if a replacement arm could be sent.

Welcome to the forums!
Do you know if the first edition of MP 08X has a green tint on the clear plastic parts like the second one has?

I'm starting to think that that throne is just a throw in item that Hasbro Asia does like those coins! and it's the online retailers that is charging the $20 on top not realizing it's thattttt cheap..

The 1st run MP 08X has clear gray plastic vs the clear green one found in the Hasbro re release. I attached a photo of mine. Sorry for the bad lighting, the photo is from when I first got him years ago. I was so excited to have received him that I literally ran to my room and begged my wife to keep the kids away just so I could enjoy the moment, lol.

That could actually be the case. I mean look at the last ones like this, the normal Grimlock flame sword and coin thing, that came for free with the figure, but because it was in it's own separate packaging they ended up on ebay.

Do you have the original Hasbro or Takara MP8 and the new TRU reissue this year? It is the same deal, New TRU reissue has the greenish clear plastic.

Did the re release come with the comic? I own the 1st run of Takara Tomy MP 08X. The accessories in box include;
1) Crown.
2) Gun.
3) Sword.
4) Black and white bio card (*corrected*)
5) Black and white comic book (*corrected*)
Also, the 1st run of MP 08X does have full chrome paint job in the alt/T Rex mode from shoulder ball to arm.
Thanks!

Uh, no, are you sure you have an MP-8X card? I've watched many reviews of the original release from 2010, and the instruction manual and collector card are all black and white, just like the re-issue.
I think you must be looking at an MP-8 card, which is coloured.

So, I was wrong. My 1st run MP 08X comes with a black and white comic and bio card. I rarely get to spend any time with my collection, sorry for posting the wrong information.
However, the T Rex shouldesr (ball section) are in fact in the same blueish chrome as the arms.

He already comes in robot mode, the T Rex head in misalignment was just from me taking him out of his packaging yesterday.
The pics of dino mode are over 2 yrs old. I bought him about 3 years ago, I've only transformed him twice.

Expander foam.

I bought mine back then too and haven't done anything with him since, except pose him differently on my shelf.

Yeah, the mold is great, I'm still baffled by all the criticism it got when it came out. It's perfect, well save for the stupid light up gimmick and it being so small.
The King Grimlock version is pretty cool, I appreciate the effort they put into it to make it look like the Marvel comic version, it may not interest me or make it desirable to me, but it's pretty cool that they made it.

X infinity. Grimlock's design is AWESOME! Fist light up gimmick is a waste but the rest is soooo good. Too bad no Galaxial launcher hehehe.
