New full color images of TFC Toys Dino-combiner have surfaced on ACToys, and it seems they are not going for a G1 aesthetic. However, that should come as no surprise considering the original concept art for these figures didn't feature G1 colors either. The other combiner team in the images is another TFC Toys project based on the Star Cats Rescue Team cartoon, in other words not Transformers related, though they have hinted at a Denfensor-ish repaint of this team. A computer render of the Dino-comber's combined mode head has also been posted. Images mirrored below.

Someone having to hold up the T-Rex bot again... :BANG_HEAD:

The combined head render sucks too IMO.

I've lost all interest in this.

I hope it the combiner aspect gets touched up a little or at least is shown with a proper transformation. I really like the head. Reminds me a bit of an undead, vicious Praetorian-style guardsmen with a lizard's face. Of course, that could be a lotta Dark Souls talking.

If I could buy it at retail, I'd jump. For 3rd party prices it needs to be really affordable for me to buy.

Looks cool, but it's flawed. Not that I could do better, but I'm being a lot pickier about what I buy now.

With the colour combination on the Dinobots there, they remind me of Zords. Except, you know, with better articulation.

With those colors, Grimlock sorta reminds me of Dino Tyranno from Dinozaurs.

Anyways, like most third party Dinobots I wouldn't really buy them unless they retool them into the Geisters from Exkaiser, mainly that Snarl, as he'd make a really cool Armor Geist.

I'm quite unimpressed with the colours. Incredibly bland. I'm quite partial to chrome on my dinobots. It just plain looks good. The colours they chose for those silly little accents are TERRIBLE. they just look very childish (oh the irony).

I don't know. They could do a lot better. They look especially bland in combined mode as well.

I wouldn't say TFC have dropped the ball on this one, more like inflated it with lead and have never even been able to pick it up. Glad to see something coming that I don't want to purchase.

I have that Dinozaurs dino tyranno toy,It's a awesome toy in both modes. I was kinda hoping the movie verse or TF Prime dinobots would look a bit like the dinozaurs/dinozone. with fossisized bones detail all over robot & dino alt modes.

NOW TO COMMENT on the colored 3rd party dinobots in this thread. I love the colored versions. I like the fact each dinobot received a unique color, like red or blue or purple or? having a highlight color makes each color seem like a jem or jewel.

I did notice on the bottom of the pics, their appears to be 2 huge pics of a gestalt combiner head accessory piece. if it belongs to the dinobot combiner. then the head design looks really cool & wicked. hopepully this dinobots combiner does get a few more gestalt accessories like a gestalt head. a gestalt chest plate. a few more gestalt weapons like a huge sword & huge gun blaster.

A kings crown accessory pop off/on piece for the gestalt head of the dinobots combiner. would be awesome on so many levels.

I can see people liking the colors, but ... does anyone like them for their Dinobots?

I don't know why it's so hard (even for Hasbro/Takara) to use the EXACT same chrome and plastic color used in the G1 toys. MP Grimmy did it and was better off for it. If these had chrome and nice grey plastic I think a lot of people would be convinced to buy it.

I'm really not feeling these. >:oP

The quality seems low, and I'd prefer the dinobots to be the same height rather than have the combiner gimmick.

i think drone pieces are lazy and they all suck, look at the failed PCC line and any other drone bots. They suck.Keeping them individual and all transforming adds value.

I meant having a sixth dinosaur that breaks apart into the add on pieces. I.E. you take it apart to make the feet, hands, head, etc.

Where me, Grimlock's, hands?

In all honesty I might still pick it up. My big gripe about it is the fact that the Slag character on one side outweighs the Swoop character on the other side. It looks super uneven.

But didn't anyone notice that there seems to be PROTECTOBOTS in that picture?! I mean, Groove doesn't look much like Groove, but C'MON! I want to know more about THAT set!

Those are toys for the Star Cats Rescue Team cartoon, a non-TF related project. They have hinted at a possible Defensor repaint though.

What the eff? Star Cats?! GIMME DEFENSORS!

In reality, though, if they repaint as Defensor, I'm DEFINITELY getting that. He's my favorite combiner.

Now that i see a coloured image of the Dinobot combiner i do like the details of the combined mode, but i could care less about how the individual bots look. I think TFC should take a look at the actual creatures or the G1 versions, because they look terrible now.

Well, isn't this just screaming for more paints. I don't mind the color choices, or not seeing them as a THE Dinobots, but those are some big seas of grey going on.

Wow... the combined head is awf atrocious. I am not feeling the skull/beak face at all. I assume the mortarboard crest has to be that way, but that's not a nigh-invincible combiner face; that's a transformer's crossover with Angry Birds. Maybe if you lost the teeth and nostrils.

What did they steal a truckload of Hasbro's signature grey plastic ??? I expect better from 3rd party companies when it comes to paint apps. Even CHMS spares no expense.

Note "prototype images" The thing cant even stand on its own right now. They probably just whipped up some quick prtots for some somewhat combined pictures.

I want this set badly :p TFC is starting to impress more and more lately...

I'm happy to see that this is inspired by G1 and not based on the orginal Dinobots. It seems that TFC is letting us see a more creative side then most other 3rd party companies.

BTW, I think the combined mode looks horrible.

And are these things from a different cartoon as well like the would be "Protectobots" or are they specially made homages to the real Dinos?

It is suspected to be Deluxe/Voyager sized, maybe around the size of one of the Hercules figs.
How much would they cost?

Unknown, though unlike the Hercules figure, these ones will be mass produced for the Chinese market, so if other suppliers were to get their hands on them, then will hopefully be cheaper than a Herculese figure.
And are these things from a different cartoon as well like the would be "Protectobots" or are they specially made homages to the real Dinos?

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe they are part of the same series as the StarCats "Protectobots" figures, though I've yet to see footage to confirm this. So no, they are not meant to homage the Dinobots, at least not intentionally.

New images of ACtoys of the artwork for not-Grimlock, not-Slag and not-Sludge! (hey, if Hasbro refuses to use the name Slag any more, can TFClub use it?)

Those colors look promising. If the colors are G1, these just may be my Dinobots. I'll just pretend they don't combine. The colors and the faces were always my primary argument against this set. If they can get that right, then great.

Posted by Rated X on September 16th, 2012 @ 10:04pm CDT
Maybe we have something worthwhile after all. It's not like you have to combine them. But if they make Grimlock the Torso instead of Sludge, scale will be compromised and it will look stupid.
Re: TFC Toys Dino-Combiner Color Images (1421008)
Posted by Wh33l Jck on September 16th, 2012 @ 10:13pm CDT
Swoop, sludge, and snarl don't look half bad to me, but I don't like Grimlock and Slag's dinosaur feet in robot mode, that is kind of a deal breaker for me....it looks cool in those drawings, but not the actual toy.

I might be interested, but I would need to see the finals first in G1 colors.

Still holding out hope for official FOC Dino's. The artwork is killer for them how can Hasbro go wrong? Even if we got just 2 others besides Grimlock would be happy.

FoC doesn't even have all the Dinobots, though. And just look at the sizes we've got. With the bulk on the Dinos they'd probably be as small as FoC Prime. Which is NOT my idea of awsome Dinobots.
Re: TFC Toys Dino-Combiner Color Images (1421102)
Posted by Wh33l Jck on September 17th, 2012 @ 10:41am CDT
Yes you are probably right, if FOC dinos were that small it would not be that cool. I don't have the game they don't have all 5? We have seen artwork for all 5 though?

I guess I have in my mind that if they did them they would be normal deluxe size and I would gladly take that. However, other than masterpeice Dinos I don't see Hasbro ever creating Classics Dino's that are as big or slightly bigger than Classics Prime to be in proper scale.

I'm not sure about these TFC dino's though, Like I said, I only really like 2 or 3 of 5. I have to believe some other 3rd party will do these eventually, and better; Hopefully I-gear although I don't feel like waiting 5 years for that....

You'd think the Dinos would be top priority for anybody, but that doesn't seem to be the case. A few projects were announced but so many projects are announced and who can say whether they'll ever be done?

*does a quick check on foC* oop, you're right they are all there. I'm just totally off on that point.

Well, the more I see them the more interested I am. You can't expect a 3rd party to rip off the g1 look completely and it is not a bad update for the most part. I would completely ignore the combined mode though.

I'm just wanting to know why there is little to no info on these guys especially after first seeing pics over a year ago?

Were the non-g1 colored versions already released in Asia?

It doesn't seem like there has been any official announcements from TFC on them either?

I would not pay Herc prices for a G1 colored version of these though, maybe not even half of Herc's price...only final painted pics might change my mind....

Impossible Toy's offerings are as copied as you can get from the G1 designs and so is Delicate Warrior. So I don't give them as much of a pass as you do for the faces. But, still, it isn't bad. I don't mind updated looks (although I wouldn't mind new faces made by another company).

As far as I know these were never released. They were first shown before Herc was even finished, so maybe they figured they'd get that done and see what happens. As for pricing, well, ... expect Herc pricing.

I agree on the faces, but that seems to be TFC's style?

The Herc members faces weren't spot on and it looks like Uranus member faces might differ a little from G1 as well.

TFC sucks a bit when it comes to faces.

I'm disappointd there isn't a company doing something about that, actually. Herc and the Insecticons all could use new heads.
Re: TFC Toys Dino-Combiner Color Images (1422035)
Posted by DJrasmo on September 20th, 2012 @ 9:53am CDT
I think we have all been waiting long enough for a full team of Dinos...and personally i think all of the FOC line is too "neo" or futuristic to fit in with my G1 shelves.

Although I agree they dont necessarily need to be a combiner team (and not cannon at all)...i think this is a cool additional option. My main point is we have gone without them for so long a decent team of them is finally a good option, combiner or no, they can always be left in individual mode and serve as my G1 dino team.
