Greetings and Salutations true believing Seibertronians! Following on from yesterday's announcement, the Official Transformers Instagram has revealed the toy, and given him the name of Ultimate X-Spanse! Not only that but preorders have gone live over at Target and will go live at the following retailers on 3/1: Your Local GameStop and Hasbro Pulse!
As confirmed by the images, the crossover is with the 1992 X Men Animated series, and the figures box uses visual vues to represent it. The figure comes with blast effects to simulate Wolverines claws and Psylocke's psyhic blade, while the head sports googles modeled after Cyclops's visor. The figure also comes with two mini figures of Wolverine, and his rival Sabertooth.
Special thanks to fellow Seibertron users, Bacem and Megatronus for sharing this news!
Have you pre-ordered this figure? What do you think? Let us kbkw what you think in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

X-Pance ... yikes. They could have done better.
Psylock is a popular X-Man, but she didn't have a strong presence in the show. But I guess they can't represent Storm, Jean Grey, or Gambit very well.
The figure looks great. The one image looks terrible, lol. This looks like it'd go well with the Marvel "Transformers" from back in the day .... if I had any of those.

No no, see, it's "Ultimate X-Spanse". The "Ultimate" part is his first name.Gauntlet101010 wrote:X-Pance ... yikes. They could have done better.
Stupid name.

Call it Blackbird or Jetwing and be done with it.

Weird that the ...unusual jet design, isn't the same as the design on the Crossover logo though

And, really, what does the word "expanse" even have to do with the Blackbird? There are many other more fitting "ex-" words that they could have used for the "X-" pun.

That's because it's a remold of SS Jetfire.

I see. That's why it doesn't look like a Blackbird design regularly used in X-Men.
This is a huge pass for me. An awful design all round. I've been a huge X-Men fan for decades and this is something I wouldn't waste money on.

I will give you the fuselage up the first "neck" section, but the rest like the nacelles are all new. Typical

And a lot more accurate depiction of the X-Men's signature jet. Not the Seeker equivalent of this...

And $65? No. $45 maybe. This goes into the bin with the Top Gun one. Pretty easy pass.

The price tag is a major turn off for me.
But it seems their are a lot of people it works for, so it shouldn't wind up being Maverick which looks mostly unloved by the majority of people.

This may be more in line to draw the casual fan whose only brush with X Men is the 1992 cartoon. While this is the first leader class collaboration, Titan Class would be seen as highly risky and not worth it. Especially if they have to pay a license fee to the mouse on top.

And they would. The Mouse is all about the cash in the best of times, and right now they are most certainly not experiencing the best of times in terms of cash flow.
Hence the rather high MSRP for this leader class figure. Shudder to think what a Titan class might cost.

That's definitely what it is, but nobody told Hasbro. They're saying to wrap it around Wolverine which doesn't make any real sense. Not sure if it can actually go on his head anyway, it looks too small. It barely fits around Wolverine let alone those big goggles. Would have rather had an optic blast or two sets of Wolverine blades than the Psylocke stuff.
I want this, but I'm not paying Target's jacked up prices (like the overpriced updated Ectotron). Guess I'm waiting for the next round of pre-orders to hit in March to see if the price is lower.

How is the price jacked up if hasbro is selling it for the exact same price

Pretty sure Hasbro pays one fee for the license to make toys, not per figure, otherwise Marvel figures would be $25 or 6" G.I. Joe or RED Transformers would be $15 since they don't have licenses attached. I wouldn't call that price set in stone, it could just be the Target price since they're charging an extra $20 for Ectotron ($10 more than Hasbro advertised Target's price at) just for an added comic and an second ghost that already comes with the regular GB figures. The first Ectotron saw a pretty crazy range of prices depending on where you got him from. I'm waiting for the March orders to see if the price changes at all.

Where is Hasbro selling it? Target has a timed exclusive on this until March, that's when it goes on Pulse and Gamestop. Hasbro isn't even advertising a price that I've seen.

I never said it didn't have a lot of new parts.
It's still a retool/remold or whatever the word is that people use.
Edit: Which reminds me here is a comparison between the two for those who want to compare side by side.

"Part-sharing" Really, it's less "let's take a figure and see what we can change" for traditional retools, and more "lets see which parts of an existing figure we can reuse for this new design". Am I weird for making that distinction?

I'd like to see Burn lead a crack paramilitary team of super-powered societal cast outs while being hunted by the same people they protect. Also, I have yet to see any of the Back to the Future films.

There had better be a crossover comic though, if Marvel is willing to make a FORTNITE crossover canon then this should be too, and I'm curious to see through that theoretical comic if this character is just gonna be replicating X-Men powers via tech or if that's his own "mutant" ability in a similar vein to Animated Elita/Blackarachnia (or Rogue or Mimic on the Marvel/mutant side of things).
And hopefully the fact that the first modern TF/Marvel crossover is specifically X-Men themed is further proof that X-Men characters can actually be in stuff again! I might be an X-Men fan, is it obvious?

AHA! "80's version", which to me says you believe Guy got better.
Cyclops however has, and will forever be, a giant douchebag.
