If you take a listen, you can join Seibertron, Tigertracks, Razorclaw, El Duque, and Jon3.0 in this Episode of the Twincast as your host Counterpunch and his gestalt team of podcasters answer a flurry of your need-to-know questions.
We also do other cool stuff like talk about the amazing upcoming Jetwing Optimus Prime and even buy a God that happened to be on sale, or two (three? I lost count...).

"I already got a Primus..."
"Shut up!"
Water out my nose, another great podcast.

Another great cast guys, really eenjoying these!
PS Counterpunch, did you at one point mention a Henkei exclusive gun for Hound?

RiD FTW! I loved that show just as much as Beast Machines! They're both tied as my fourth favorite series.
Mind if I throw in my two cnets of some of these Q's too?
The new MP-10 Convoy looks to be the G1 Optimus Prime that I have wanted and waited for ever since I first discovered G1. Of the four MPs I own (all Hasbro ones), I'd have to agree on Grimlock being the best executed. As for who I'd like to see Masterpieced, either Ginrai or Metalhawk.
Admittedly enough, Scrounge is indeed a more dignified choice than Erector, as Scrounge actually did something and had sacrifice that was both noble and tragic.
Always on display for me is my MISC Wal-Mart Exclusive Transmetal Rattrap, along with a few of Alternators, reissue G1 Ultra Magnus, reissue G1 Powermaster OP w/ Apex Armor, MP Skywarp, and some odd Classics/Generations molds. And standing next to them all are my old Voltron combiner figure and my MMPR 2010 Dino Megazord combiner figure.
For me, FIRRIB/RIRFIB all depends on which medium it is. G1 cartoon has FIRRIB so I go by that when viewing that. G1 toys and comics have RIRFIB so I go by that when dealing with those. There's no wrong or right answer to me, it's all just different interpretations from each medium's perspective.
Music Label Soundwave is my Classics/Generations Soundwave.
I got a Primus.
"Anything you can do me can do better. Me can do anything better than you." - I LOVED this song! Ever since I first heard that both Gregg Berger and David Kaye were gonna be at BotCon, I SO wanted their too Grimlocks to get into an argument of some kind, and this song was more than I could have asked for!
Only twenty Classics Seekers? I'm almost tempted to count them all (again).
Animated Toxitron is adorable.
...
I saw "Alternity Backstop Saidos" at Big Lots about a week ago. Didn't have the spare cash for it, though.
Beast Wars Destron X? Who?
Hey, I'm an admin of Unicron.com. I work with the Lukis Bros on that site very actively. If you want, I could talk to the bros to see if any of them would be willing to come on a later podcast?

Separately, they're fine. Toss 'em together like in the pic, and well...egads that is one ugly lookin' group.
I never realized how terrible some of those color schemes were until now.
Toxitron especially. *le barf

I don't think so... Maybe? I use one of the guns from the G3 trailer with him.

You're right about the group shot. Toxitron is really strong by himself though. The details in his chest window pop majorly with the clear red plastic.

Samsonator wrote:Another great Twincast, guys! You've become my default audio track while I stock the walk-in cooler at work. As I've said before you guys always seem to represent a really great cross-section of the fandom in general with your opinions on various topics, and it's always great to hear people who have some idea what they're talking about (since I just don't get that where I live). Also, when hilarity ensues, and it does so frequently, I'm often laughing my ass off for the better part of the night. (examples from past 'casts include: The entire Metroplex to G2 'Phillip' repaint idea, CP's opinion of DOTM deluxe Prime "...man, f**k that toy.", The saga of the eBay Kingbolt, or from this episode, the Counterpunching of nearly everyone into buying that Primus) There's really too many good things to say about the show you guys put on for us, but I don't want to sound too much like I'm kissing asses around here, so I'll just leave it at that.
Thanks dude. Hearing that these recordings help people through their day is a big complement.

I guess I should have clarified more on the RTS question. I guess what I was asking was why Hasbro claimed the RTS line didn't do as well. I actually grabbed a Tracks while I was at Camp Lejeune in April, and his rub-sign is actually on straight. Again, thanks for answering my questions!

Lol at Mike's last 'experience'.
This episode was flowing just like the Niagara Falls. Great editing Jon.

It doesn't sound cheesy at all.

I can relate. I usually listen to these during my first how of work. While everyone in the office are wasting time with idle chitchat, the podcast blasting from my iPod Touch makes it difficult for them to concentrate on their conversations as they are trying to figure out what I'm listening to. I find myself talking along as if I was part of the discussion as well. That really puzzles them as well.

Agreed, I've met people at these conventions that are not only my collecting peers but the vast majority, I am proud to call my friends. Botcon truly is your best bet for networking with people from all over the world who can and will gladly help out for most of your collecting needs. Not to mention making friends and having a great time in general. Nearly everyone, if not everyone, on the podcast are people I've talked with for years on this site or have had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with. It's those peers and the obvious camaraderie that help me enjoy the show so much. Jon's no slouch either.

It's always nice to actually hear discussions like this since in my area, fans are few and far between and I'm the most knowledgeable person within about 400km (roughly 250 miles) of my location.

Great job guys. I'm enjoying and so getting spoiled with the once a week recordings. . I think this episode was my favorite so far.

I enjoy doing this for those that enjoy the company, and the banter. Very good to hear that it is indeed giving some of you that live person discussion that you might be lacking in your neck of the woods.
Now, who wants to have 'Non-Carlos Magno' return to the show?

At the moment Im still trying to get a decent gauge on the market but am looking forward to making the jump soon. It just seems though at this point ebay is pretty scant and doesnt have much to offer. I have also noticed the Sky Garry's that Seibertron mentioned. And I definitely took your advice and checked out the multi force figs. They look pretty neat.
Cheers again.

I just took a quick look on eBay.
Not much there, but there are some things to get started with depending on your likes.
If I were starting the micromasters would be of interest to me and are less than $100.
You also have pretenders, Powermasters, and a combiner (Guard City - great set - very expensive) along with Sky Garry.
One thing about Japanese edition stuff, most is sold MIB or MISB/MISP so that a buyer knows they are getting Japanese versions of toys. You're not going to find much loose. Occasionally, but it will usually be something that is from the later series Victory, or Masterforce.
I suggest you research using guide books. The international and Japanese Transformers toys catalog by JE ALvarez are where I started looking and finding what I liked. When you have names and an idea of what particular characters/toys you like, then you can be more specific in your eBay searches.
You will pay a premium price for Japanese toys partially because they are usually sold with box/papers, but also because they were not released stateside in many cases (again depends on what you are looking for), so there are a few less out there for possibly a lot of interested collectors.
Start small if that's your budget (micromasters), or go for it, and spend a lot to get a rare piece or two to oggle for a while.
I believe I was lucky enough to jump in before it got supercrazy, and I was able to get a smattering of different things at fairly reasonable prices to start my collection off.
Does this help?

This helps incredibly. Cheers for the tip on the Alvarez book too. I jumped straight onto Amazon and picked one up along with his Beast Wars guide.
I have been looking at some of the masterforce pretenders and also the misb micromasters you mentioned. Im so close to clicking the buy now button!
But Im thinking about picking up a mold that would be completely foreign to me to get the ball rolling. I would love to get a Victory Leo or the smaller trainbots from Headmasters to form Raiden. But like you mentioned, theres not much on ebay so im just watching the more expensive ones and wishing they were mine for the moment.
Cheers again Tigertracks. That was a great help. Greatly appreciated.
