Episode #251 “Bob Lobclaw's Rumor Mill” is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
Here's what we discuss in this episode:
- We kick things off with that staple of our collective hobby, repaints. Preorders are live for God Neptune, and he's puuurrrty. Did you expect to see a redeco so soon after the initial Seacons release? Are you digging good old Neptune as much as we are? Let us know in the comments.
- Netflix Netflix Netflix. More figures from the upcoming Transformers War for Cybertron Netflix series have been leaked, and we're not entirely sure what to make of the whole thing.
- Cheetor sneaks in. Theories abound.
- More rumors: Studio Series Devastator Box Set. Megatronus is displeased.
- We also discuss a potential Earthrise sleep-mode Optimus Prime - hang on to your pajamas, bananas. It's slumber party Prime.
- We get to some listener questions from Mr.Micromaster, including whether we will see San Diego Comic Con exclusives, and our assessment of Siege distribution.
- We close out this episode as we often do, with a round of bragging rights.

I am surprised that God Neptune was revealed so quickly, I would've thought that they would have waited at least a year from the release of the Seacons for him, but nope, 6 months. No problems on my end, I am excited for the set.
Tentakil's retooling is cool, a nice surprise.
I was typing a comment about Ari hating Studio Series right as he said it, I feel called out!
The SS Constructicons remain some of the best individual combiner members released at retail, there is not a bad figure amongst all 7 of them so far.
I feel like if the SS Devy set is real, it is going to be heavily weathered, like the netflix figures level of weathering, make him a dirty boy.
The Netflix show is taking forever, it was supposed to come out this month originally.
Barricade? I must have forgotten that one. But i haven't paid attention to the listings as much recently. Probably a repaint of the new Earthrise Datsun figure.
All the Netflix repaints feel weird, like they are doing a ton of new sublines and exclusives and such right now, it's really heavy.
I'm afraid Elita 1 will be another retool of the Chromia mold, which would suck cause that mold does suck.
I feel really certain that every figure in the netflix toyline will be in the show, it would seem really worthless otherwise.
Impactor is in the show, he was in the trailer.
Cobs, with regards to Netflix/Cyberverse deluxes: Elita 1 did not appear in Cyberverse, so she wouldn't get a toy.
I hope that Cheetor listing is more a sign of the next trilogy, there is no way the final part of the trilogy will involve beasts, they are going full on 1986 next year, guaranteed.
For me, the Beast fix would only be accomplished by having no Autobots or Decepticons present. Make it Maximals, Predacons, and Vehicons, go without the main 2 factions we have used for so so long.
Scotty, I like those ideas you had for Cybertronian techno-beasts for a Beast Machines remake, that would be pretty sweet, have some originality to it.
Cobs, John Warden would never say "I love beast wars too!" without puking some in HIS mouth
I agree Scotty, a lot of the pre-TM stuff looks like it needs an update, it needs some modern touches.
I agree with Cobs, Pulse will be the way they reveal the SDCC exclusives, the same way a lot of these Marvel Legends and Black Series reveals have come out. Fan First Friday reveal! Betting on it!
I'm also willing to bet we will get more reveals that way too, since there has been a decent amount of stuff revealed that way in the past month.
I am down for a TF Covid-19 Mask!
I too got a baby yoda, he is the most precious child ever.

Even a good bit of the stuff from after the first couple years is finally starting to show its age if I'm really honest. Most of the Fuzors aren't bad toys, but something about them screams "I'm from the 90s". It's a mixed bag though, Transmetal Optimus Primal holds up well, Megatron not as much (often literally.) Transmetal Tarantulas looks like something that could be released today, Rhinox does not. There are plenty more examples.D-Maximal_Primal wrote:I agree Scotty, a lot of the pre-TM stuff looks like it needs an update, it needs some modern touches.
Big Convoy has definitely proven to hold up as a nice toy over time. Four variously colored re-releases of it in just the past decade and it's still nicer than much of the rest of the mainline stuff released in the same period.

I agree with Tarantulas, that figure is a good strong mold, same with Big Convoy. I didn't think the Rhinox figure was too bad honestly, but I did only just get it.
1 big thing i would want from new Beast Wars toys is the added thigh/bicep swivel, the Beast guys really need those extra joints to be really good.
Also, I want a Silverbolt that can position his wings like they were in the show
