Watched only a few random parts, I like to leave something for when I get the figure. Magnus looks fantasitc!

The tail panel can fold and stay up like I'd hoped; thus not visible from the front.

yeah thanks for that insight. I meant what are the future releases gonna be... there's the ark contingent which has a couple of candidates left but they also seem to be going off on tangents like magnus... in the video review, ben mentions an mp unicron rumour... I wouldn't care much for that for example, would rather have the smaller figures continue...

Speaking of UM quotes, and if that ever happens.... they should get also include this one...

"As the duly appointed officer of the Tyrest Accord, you are under arrest." :-)

Not from the movie, obviously, but there's a lot of good Ultra Magnus quotes from the IDW series. Bonus if they can get Robert Stack to voice those! :-D

I suppose you could cobble together audio from years of Unsolved Mysteries, but I'm not thinking that the Tyrest accord was ever mentioned along stories of ghostly hitchhikers

I agree that there's more I'd like to see before Unicron, but aren't we still on the 2 lg / 4 small MPs per year?
With Star Saber and Exhaust already in the pipe for 2015, we still have 1 lg and 3 small to go. I wouldn't be surprised if Megatron is one of them, with all the chatter about him recently... Has anyone heard any more of the rumors of Ironhide and Ratchet coming next, or was that just someone's wishful thinking?

Since back in 2003, even.

BTW, TFTM has been so overquoted that its most-quoted ones have lost their luster (the "One shall stand..." one has been beaten savagely into a pulp, even).

Ok wasnt goibg to buy him but im sold articulation I fast foward past part see one master piece figure aticluate see them all move same some with out waist movement that is only differnce,

Maybe 3rd party will make trailer hitch for prime and magnus to pull each other trailers, and prime face plater to have his prime mouth without armor, really like how truck detaches from trailer, maybe someone will come up with some extra pieces get rid of red bumper, and have bakc flap fold up more in bot mode

Mp unicon rumor more likely to get city bot over unicron metroplex, scorponock, fortress maximuss over unicron unicron be expensive complex pieces to transfom xity bots little less complex but both be 500.00 or more maybe if they make either one unicron or city bots

Its sucha great figure... The price point it's amazing! I can't believe that you can buy this much toy for that little money, it truly is a Xmas gift, thank you takara, i am waiting for my TWO!

I've always enjoyed all versions of the MP-1 mold, in fact it is my favorite mold now and forever, including MP-2... I had put away MP-1 in favor of MP-10 to stand next to my MP-2, ultra magnus, and it scales rather well, all of the metal of that mold makes it feel like ultra magnus, but cannot quite get over the fact that it is just a "white painted optimus" and it doesn't matter how many times i tell my friends, they always forget...

But now, after years of waiting, it is finally here and done right, it brings tears to my eyes!

Seibertron.com board member Cyberpath linked us to the TakaraTomy YouTube channel which features a stop-motion animated video of MP-22 Ultra Magnus! It shares the complex transformation, plus the features of it and how it can interact with the other cars, as well as a quickie Optimus scale comparison. The very recently released Bumble is sharing the limelight with newcomer Magnus, as well as the car molds that came before them. Prowl to Wheeljack, along with Sideswipe and every use of the Datsun mold in between! TakaraTomy takes us back to a time of amazing stop motion videos with this new entry on their channel and it's an amazing sales pitch to get you to buy all the figures!

Shipped.

Transformation looks amazing! The stop-motion makes it seem almost effortless.

Image

And the way that the wheels morph, very reminiscent of hand-drawn animation where parts could change size and colour during transformation.

Evasion-mode Optimus Prime might have some company in the Kobayashi Hall of Fame. :)

Eyup. Not sure what I want to make my next MP purchase (not counting add-ons like the Rambo kit, which I intend to get for my MP Dreddswipe). Thinking MP Starscream, or even the old MP-03 mold version in the Hasbro colourscheme (as I've heard they're more solid, and also I like the look a bit better).

Also, MP Devastator when?

I can afford either, but I also have alot of other things I want to get post x-mas so I don't wanna buy both, and while MP-10 hasn't "flown" with the reissue, MP-10 is one of the few MPs to actually BE hard to find for around the same price... what are the odds UM will sell out in 3 months?

major retailers like BBTS or TFsource, will probably sell out in a few months. everyone else a little while after. worst case is you might have to ebay him for a slight markup. but thats worst case. if it were me, id go for prime first.

The stop motions are all cool... things have come in leaps and bounds though it probably has to do with how intricate the modern transformations are and video apps that make it a bit easier than it used to be in the day.

Cobotron wrote:Wow! That stop action is amazing, but not as amazing as this one...

That ad is awesome....
Transformers came a bit late to where I am so I ended up skipping the original leaders and had the "city commanders" instead.

Re getting mp-10 or not... I was in the same boat. I already had MP1 and saw mp10 as pointless. I even went off MP collecting for a bit. The new releases such as smokescreen and wheeljack made me start collecting them again. Got mp10 because of the scale and also cos the only prime i ever had with a trailer was powermaster prime. But I must admit that he is a good if expensive purchase. Also, wanted to get him before magnus cos I knew I wouldn't have been able to afford them back to back.

You might be lucky and find him available in sales etc. Toys r us uk have the platinum edition listed for £80 for example
