She was only available to preorder via a wishlist trick at first, and was finally listed and available for sale on Monday, but since she's an Amazon Prime exclusive, Prime shipping means that Greenlight, one of the most highly anticipated figures of the Siege line, has already arrived in some fans' homes! One of those fans is yours truly, and I've taken the liberty of taking several in hand pictures, to help you, fellow Seibertronians, decide if she's a good fit for you.

Greenlight debuted in the G1 cartoon episode "The Search for Alpha Trion" as one of the Female Autobots, a group of resistance fighters left on Cybertron. While she didn't have any speaking lines, or even a name, for that matter, she still showed up in several scenes. That was pretty much it for her until a quarter-century later, when a text story from Fun Publications in 2010 not only had her as a part of the story, but also gave her the name of Greenlight. After that story, it was another long hiatus for her until she showed up as a member of the Cybertronian colony of Carcer in IDW's previous 2005-18 continuity. She's shown up in IDW's rebooted continuity as well, so it looks like she's here to stay.

History lesson aside, let's get to the pictures!

To start with, she's a remold of the Moonracer/Firestar mold, with a new head, new forearms and hands, and a striking bright green and pale yellow color scheme that's straight out of the G1 cartoon. Her head sculpt is fantastically cartoon accurate, just like her mold-mates' heads.

Transformers News: War for Cybertron Siege Greenlight Pictorial Review

She even has her little elvish ears!

And, unfortunately, the large backpack.

Transformers News: War for Cybertron Siege Greenlight Pictorial Review

It doesn't hinder her posing, as most of the backpack is hollow.

She looks great next to her mold-mates in car mode, and has a distinctive enough deco to stand out, regardless of color.

This mold has been used three times now, but thankfully, shows no signs of degradation. The joints on my copy are just as tight as on the first iteration. This allows for some excellent action poses.

Transformers News: War for Cybertron Siege Greenlight Pictorial Review

As shown above, she also comes with Dazzlestrike, a slight repaint of the Battlemaster Lionizer. Just a touch of matching green on Dazzlestrike's blade and voila! A new character. Her Battlemaster partner does come with a new flaming effect part that attaches to the blade, and it looks really cool.

So in my humble opinion, Greenlight is worth picking up. She and Dazzlestrike cost just as much as each of the individual figures would, despite being an exclusive. There's no mold degradation, the colors and paint app layouts are nice and distinctive, and this is her first toy, despite appearing in fiction for over 34 years! (I have a thing for obscure fembots). My only nitpick is that her new forearms and fists are molded in such a way that they kind of clip over the rear fender pieces, rather than tabbing in as on Moonracer or Firestar. Granted, those pieces don't tab in very well... the fists, too, can't move (they're a solid piece now) so they hang very low.

So that's about it for Greenlight.... oh wait, she IS a retool of a Power of the Primes mold, and NOT Siege Chromia, so that does mean that she has two other modes, as.....

....a combiner arm....

Transformers News: War for Cybertron Siege Greenlight Pictorial Review

... and a combiner leg.

Transformers News: War for Cybertron Siege Greenlight Pictorial Review

Speaking of combiner limbs, though she has the capability and combiner hand, there's no indication of that in her instructions. However...I have taken the liberty to finish off this article with the following mini story I've titled "How Orthia Came To Be". Enjoy, and let us know your thoughts on this figure below!

The tr Kup repaint could have worked well with a vehicle nose coloring, slight shoulder remold and wheels on the arms. If hasbro ever gets round to selling blaster effects they should do some stick on wheels for the characters that are missing them :p

Missfire's/Aimless' face plate on Kup's Flintlock Titan Master. The figure itself is a Kup repaint, you can see the teal in his hands.

I'm loving all of these. Apeface looks great, I can't wait to get Spinister, and I'm digging Crosshairs as well. Don't know why some people are fussing about it being a repaint. Um, hello? It's Hasbro? He's getting a new head sculpt and that's fine. For me though, it's all about that Astrotrain. He's always been a favorite of mine and I can't wait to get him. Love the scale as well.
Wonder if there's a chance that Hasbro will reuse that mold with some remolding here and there to make a leader sized Broadside that has a jet mode that isn't doofy? I'd love to have a large one for my Wreckers collection.

So, what was the point of greenlight's new arm? There are no hinge on her wrist, which makes her fist hangs out a bit more than the other, and they don't put extra articulation too, it is just one molded piece, so what gives? Does it makes her more screen accurate or something?

It's kind of subtle but her chest plate is also retooled! She's quite fun. I'm really hoping now though that the Lancer has painted hubcaps to match Novastar, who is the only other version of the mold with painted hubcaps.

Yup, The Manga planted the seeds, too bad it didn't come to fruition (or for some, maybe a good thing)...

Crosshairs from Kup
Pointblank from Hotrod &
Sureshot from Full-Tilt

The Decepticon TR TM's first came from a new mold, then was heavily retooled multiple times. Now our first Autobot TM comes as pretty much a repaint of Siege Ironhide (except for the head). I really have no strong opinion either way, but one wonders if the other two will come from original molds, or be retools/repaints as well??

Could work for both deluxe Soundwave and Blaster too.

With all these ideas im surprised hasbro hasn't made any new contracts for a game with this title to finish this potential trilogy name.

I would love a new game, primarily because I missed out on getting FOC for PS4, and Devastation is hard to find. Don't even think of bringing up ROTDS though :-x

I regret owning that can of rotten worms. Reused WFC/FOC characters and weapons for a third time. Many of the Cybertronian levels were also ridiculously tedious compared to older games and sometimes you die too easily on the lowest difficulty. Saving Cliffjumper (protect others with turret part) Shockwave infiltrating and lowering defenses (no checkpoints and way too many enemies) and lastly defending Movie Optimus as Grimlock. So not worth the replay.

But let's not stray too far off topic.

Unfortunately Hasbro removed digital licenses. PS3 is sometimes cheap but finding good deals for the games is a little tougher since discs could not be recalled by hasbro and their value has risen as a result and even the Playstation NOW on PS4 has no license to allow the games on rental subscription service. Even brick and mortar stores like Gamestop dont seem to carry them or they disappear faster than word spreads that they were spotted.

The only thing I can think of is that the remolding does make for a better looking combiner leg with the hands now behind the wheels instead of front and center looking like someone is making a fake pair of glasses with their hands.

I think they've gone more cartoon lately, especially with the SIEGE line. Both molds and decos. (But not without some "misses" like Soundwave's visor.)

That's why the brand unification thing doesn't really bother me as much anymore and why SIEGE is so tempting.

On the official Transformers Amazon store, Reflector is $30 while Brunt and the rest of the Deluxes are $20, what am I missing here?

Isn't it enough that we have to get three exact copies of the same action-figure in order to get the full character?

BTW, anyone got him yet? Any good?
