Key retailers Walmart, Target, Toys“R”Us, and Kmart agree, and have highlighted multiple Hasbro toys and games on their own “hot lists” for the season.

Walmart named nine Hasbro toys and games to its Top 20 Holiday Toys List, including the BEYBLADE: METAL MASTERS TRIPLE BATTLE Set, the FURREAL FRIENDS COOKIE, MY PLAYFUL PUP and the EASY-BAKE Ultimate Oven.
Target announced that it expects the NERF VORTEX NITRON Blaster, the STAR WARS ULTIMATE FX LIGHTSABERS, the LET’S ROCK! ELMO toy, the SIMON, SCRABBLE and YAHTZEE FLASH games as well as BOP IT! XT to top wish holiday wish lists this year.
The 2011 Toys“R”Us Holiday Hot Toy List included the LET’S ROCK! ELMO, ELEFUN BUSY BALL POPPER toys and the NERF VORTEX VIGILON Blaster among its “Fabulous 15” selections of the best of the best toys available this holiday season. Additionally, The World’s Greatest Toy Store® named the TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH ULTIMATE OPTIMUS PRIME Action Figure among its overall list of 36 hot toys.
Kmart’s third annual Fab 15 Toy List named LET’S ROCK! ELMO, FURREAL FRIENDS COOKIE, MY PLAYFUL PUP, SIMON FLASH and NERF VORTEX NITRON Blaster as must-haves for the holiday season.

Highlights this holiday season include the LET’S ROCK! ELMO toy, which headlines a variety of all new toys and games from the PLAYSKOOL brand in conjunction with Sesame Workshop. The TRANSFORMERS brand celebrated the theatrical release of TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON in June 2011 and captured the excitement of the film through an innovative product line that included the new MECHTECH and CYBERVERSE action figure segments. The KRE-O construction toy line also launched this year with twelve sets based on classic TRANSFORMERS characters including OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE - just in time for the holidays.

Hasbro’s games category continues to re-imagine its offerings with the new CONNECT 4: Launchers Edition, which features a new, horizontal game unit that offers head-to-head action as players try to aim, launch and connect their way to victory. Two New Series, One TRANSFORMERS Comics Universe

Debuting in January, the war for CYBERTRON is over. Now the hard part begins.

Launching in January, IDW Publishing is proud to offer TRANSFORMERS and comics fan everywhere two new ongoing TRANSFORMERS comics series, under license from Hasbro. The two, interrelated series are a direct continuation of IDW’s CHAOS event and the culminating issue, TRANSFORMERS: THE DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME, available in comic stores and online in December. Featuring two great stories under one IDW TRANSFORMERS universe, both comic series also offer a perfect place for new readers to join the series.

Written for both comics and TRANSFORMERS fans, TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE and TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE each explore the aftermath of IDW’s CHAOS event.

The war is over, and now the hard part begins. In the new world of CYBERTRON, there are only two choices: stay or go.

Helmed by writer John Roberts with art and covers by Nick Roche, AUTOBOT RODIMUS calls on his fellow TRANSFORMERS to leave CYBERTRON in search of the Knights of CYBERTRON in TRANSFORMERS: MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE. This lost tribe of TRANSFORMERS is, according to legend, the guardians of the original Cybertronian culture and RODIMUS and his followers begin a quest to find them and restore their culture to its past glory.

TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE, written by IDW’s own John Barber, with art and covers by Andy Griffith, follows BUMBLEBEE and the remaining AUTOBOTS on CYBERTRON. Without OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE finds himself in command of a world gone mad. TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DIGUISE follows the struggle to rebuilding CYBERTRON as the AUTOBOTS, DECEPTICONS and civilian TRANSFORMERS, who don’t distinguish between the other two groups, are all vying for control.

MELROSE PARK, Ill., Oct. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Stern Pinball, Inc., the world's only maker of real pinball games, today announced plans for Transformers Launch Parties as well as their presence at Pinball Expo 2011.

Epic crossover event returns with bigger threats, more franchises

IDW’s second ground-breaking multi-title event kicks off in January 2012

[Infestation 2 Cover]San Diego, CA (October 12, 2011) – IDW’s ground-breaking, multi-universe event returns in January with INFESTATION 2. As with the blockbuster original, this epic invasion will spread throughout the IDW-verse and into many fan-favorite titles. With INFESTATION 2, tentacled Lovecraftian “Old Ones” reach across time and space and threaten to destroy everyone everywhere and everywhen.

“Last year, we were just figuring out how to do a monstrous event for the first time,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief. “This year, we’re going to build on the monstrous part, both in terms of story, titles affected and the threat itself. So people can expect a bigger event here, with lots of legs. Well, tentacles, anyway. We’ve got great creators and a very exciting plan to give people more of what they liked the first time, with some crazy twists and new properties affected, too.”

Coming in January, the kick off issue, INFESTATION 2 #1, will be written by best-selling novelist and comic-book writer Duane Swierczynski and feature art by INFESTATION/INFESTATION: OUTBREAK artist David Messina. This gripping issue sets the stage for Lovecraft’s “Old Ones” to break through time and space and invade many titles, including TRANSFORMERS, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, and a special fifth-week one-shot, INFESTATION: TEAM-UP, featuring Bat Boy and GROOM LAKE’s grey alien Archibald in February. Then in March, the Infestation spreads even further, infecting TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES and G.I. JOE. In April, vampires battle zombies in 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: INFESTATION, followed by the stunning closing issue, INFESTATION 2 #2.

Joining Swierczynski and Messina on covers for INFESTATION 2 #1 and #2 will be Alex Garner and Livio Ramondelli. INFESTATION 2 #1 will also feature unique temporary tattoos.

In February, writer Chuck Dixon and artist Guido Guidi will return to the often-requested “Hearts of Steel” timeline for the bi-weekly INFESTATION 2: TRANSFORMERS #1 and #2. Plus, Dungeons & Dragons novelist Paul Krill will introduce a brand-new campaign setting to IDW with INFESTATION 2: DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: EBERRON #1 and #2. INFESTATION 2: TEAM-UP will be written by Chris Ryall and illustrated by his WEEKLY WORLD NEWS partner Alan Robinson, and feature covers by Eric Powell and The Simpsons’s Bill Morrison.

In March, Tristan Jones and Mark Torres pair up for INFESTATION 2: TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #1 and #2, while Mike Raicht and Valentine de Landro present INFESTATION 2: G.I. JOE #1 and #2.
