Age of Extinction Wave 2 Custom Kreons Found At TRU

Dear god, even the Kreon version of Crosshairs couldn't get his duster coat right?

I still dont get what people see in these things ? (Kreons) They remind me of Bobbleheads...

Ironically I find these custom sets a bit lacking. The weapons and clips and other not-Kreon parts are amazing, but I'm not sure what to do with the long arms, clear torsos, or chrome helmets. How many Transformer characters need those?

The codes can be entered in the Oreo Promotional website to receive a Transformers: Age of Extinction Deluxe. So far it appears to only be Wave 1: High Octane Bumblebee, Crosshairs, Slug, and Scorn. The figures come in special box with 32 stickers. No word on a domestic version of this promotion.

interesting. But could be even more if they could work on cyberverse toys, I have seen already too many little updates on this same molds.

Well, that is true. Also, there's BAPE Prime, J-pop Prime, and god knows how many more product-placement-Primes.

There's scores across the board. I've become desensitized to product placement, even in games, like Pepsiman or Spot goes to Hollywood. Only problem with this promotion I can see is that I'm not a massive fan of Oreos.

That would also be a major problem though from wave 1 all I want is Scorn.Crosshairs, I wonder about that cape of his that appears to be the shell of his car alt.

Continuing in his video review streak, fellow Seibertron.com member chuckdawg1999 brings us another Age of Extinction Power Battler toy to look at, and it's Optimus Prime's turn! See what he has to say about this multilimbed, sword-wielding figure below.

]When early promo pics of this figure surfaced I knew I had to get it in hand. They thought of an Optimus Prime with 4 hands just sounded cool. With a sword slashing action that looks like it belongs in the Masters of the Universe line Prime is a fun figure that's an all around cool toy.

He does look pretty cool compared to the other Power Battlers. At least he is proportionate. I wouldn't hold out for retail though, seeing as the Power Battlers are up there with Dino Sparkers as "stuff that hasn't moved since release". All my local stores are still packed with wave 1. I did see a Scorn (Wave 2)at Target, who doesn't seem to have made such a large initial order of this stuff as Walmart did. Same goes for 1-Steppers. They have culled the hundreds of 1-Steppers at Walmart, but there are still ALOT left. I think the later waves of Power Battlers and 1-Step are going to be what we see at TJ Max and the like this Christmas.

totally...........WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the best representation of the dinobots in movie accuracy. only thing is.. why is slog released in a way that reminds me of his regular voyage variant? they wasted a good opportunity for slash to appear in the grayish colour/ stupid colourful mix ?

I was thinking that too hence why I jumped on it off of Amazon. The later waves are up there for pre-order now too.

Thanks for the included news credit on these...thought I posted it a couple of weeks ago. The two at my Target have not budged in 3 weeks. The Transformer section is looking very poor too. No Generations of any kind...what happened to Target ?!? I use to be able to count on them quite a bit.

Target has only been around in my area for about a year so I can understand the poor distribution but it still stands that they are by far the least dependable for anything transformers related. Their generations line is still at HOIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These would be cool to get, if they didn't look like gigantic electronic Bot-Shots.

No I think he means the Leader Class and the Autobot 5-pack platinum sets. I might be wrong, but I believe that they'll be released in September or October.

Do we know the exclusivity of these platinum sets? Like who will be distributing them? Will it all be KMart?

I don't know about anyone body else, but I'm not much into the movie line, however I have to say these two rock with the chrome! For Prime I get the G1 feel with the chrome and the face plate makes him look a hell of a lot better! I hate the open face look. Prime's gun should either be chrome or black, preferably black, not that cheap grey material.

Grimlock looks like a badass with the chrome highlighted parts and the painted black face really does it for me and make Grimlock stand out, more a demon/samurai warrior than a dinobot, but I'll take it.

I just feel with the chrome and extra paint here and there, really makes these two stand out compared to their counter-parts that's sold individually.

This set arrived last week from RK.
Quick thoughts:
Joints on the Classics version feel loosish/soft (but not too bad) - I think it's due to the plastic quality, my KO Ultra Magnus feels like it's made of better plastic.

Having said that the paint apps are top grade, doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart, and will be mostly for display.

The evasion mode version, no problems with construction, but the paint apps could use some work, looks better in alt mode than robot. (Might display it this way next to my platinum chrome version in robot mode)

Age of Extinction Generations Voyager Class Drift!

The figure is based off of the DOTM Skyhammer mold, but sports a blue and gold colorscheme, new weapons and a new head to bring you Drift in his third mode, a helicopter. The helicopter mode (and transformation to and from) were shown very briefly in this summer's TF film, Age Of Extinction. Considering the difficulties of taking a Bugatti Veyron and turning it into a robot AND a helicopter, a reuse of the Skyhammer mold was the next best possible plan.

Drift is partnered in the newest (and seemingly final) Voyager wave with Dinobot Slog.

Super excited for Drift!

I shall get Drift and i will switch back and forward between Drift's head as Drift and another random head as my oc Deadput even though he is normally a purple car.

Hopefully this voyager will make it overhere unless he's an exclusive. On saying that I'm still yet to come across his car mold. Missed my chance for the original mold as well when it was on sale.

Skyhammer is still the best one.

I really like this, I'd love to see this guy repainted as Bludgeon, I think he could work as a helicopter.

Yeah i like his colors and accessories more then Skyhammer the colors are good on that toy too i just prefer blue and i hate mech tech with a few exceptions.

To help you all build up to the new week, in a constructive way, here is fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 with not one but two of his video builds and reviews! Featured this time are the Target exclusive ConstructBot Grimlock and Silver Knight Optimus Prime (a G2esque redeco of the mass retail set) and the more general release of ConstructBot Lockdown and Hangnail - including armour mode. Check both of them out in the embedded videos below!

While these are the same kits as the mass retail Grimlock and Prime their colors are changed to represent an unreleased G2 design and Target's Silver Knight theme respectively. Still a fun build and Dino Rider Prime has an included sword. Highly recommended.

Since most of the Beast Hunters Constructbots never saw a full retail release, at least in North America, for most of us the Age of Extinction sets are our first look at the new skeleton designs. Much like the Dinobots the vehicle builds, like Lockdown, feature a skeleton built by ball joints,armor attached by C-clips and a spring hinged back/chest for some slight automorph transformation. There has been some debate about whether or not these are improvements or just lateral changes. Lockdown is a fun build that features a more cohesive car mode while its dino armor partner Hangnail adds a fun new degree of interaction with the toy.

I love that Lockdown so much I started army-buildin' with it to represent his minions, but I only got one extra set at the Target clearance of $10.00 before they disappeared. Holding off to see if other retailers follow suit, especially because you need extra Drifts to swap out Lockdown's orange for blue to get things slightly more accurate. And Drifts with orange parts make good Bludgeons!

Not as crazy about Hangnail, but at least his feet look cool as shoulder straps when combined. And becoming both armor AND a gun so big that Transformers can't really wield it makes these dino-buddies the spiritual successors to the Action Master partners!
