Interesting, so the New U kicks off with MASK.
Those Bumblebee stories look like fun. "Goldfender." Heh.
That_Guy wrote:Interesting, I see RiD Strongarm in that cover for the OP issue. Was she shown in any of the other issues prior? Seems late in the game to bring in some players fr2om other universes.
She makes a Cameo at the very end of Wreckquiem, but basically, No.

She is actually a main character in the Star Trek Animated Series. M'Ress, she was in engineering. Animated series used a lot of different aliens for the crew.

Sorry to burst your bubble flashwave but the mask book is a collection of the previous mask series as it says. Idw are being tight lipped on what will kick off the new continuity.
So dire wraiths are working with unicron? Makes sense I guess, though I would have preferred the blendtrons but what can you do?

I missed that. Darn. Part of me thinks that starting the Hasbroverse, or at least Earth with sonething other than Transformers would be beneficial to the expanded. Guess I let hopes get ahead of myself.

Thats OG Klingons though before someone bothered with a Makeup Department or something. Technically faithful, but to be honest they look like the guy from Stargate that had the brass bulls eye on his forehead and not Klingonsdragons wrote:never saw star trek cartoon but its dissapointing klingons look human and not what worf loko like i will pick up series regardless

Technically, I think Next Gen and beyond is what Roddenberry (Star Trek's creator for those who don't know) is what he had envisioned. Star Trek had a make ups department... just one on a show with a low budget. IMO, IDW should have gone with the now more recognizable design, but it would also be nice to have Chekov as well. Can't have everything we want (especially since I about died with glee when I saw this news yesterday ).

Than by your standard of making the characters more recognizable we’d be having the evergreen or movie designs because they have become the more recognizable designs or the attempt but you’re missing the point. This is not crossing over with the live action stuff of Star Trek it’s crossing over with the cartoon.

It'll be a fun non-canon comic for both G1 and TAS. The Klingons looking TMP/TNG wouldn't make sense in the time frame of TOS which covering in both DS9 and ENT.
IDW would be silly not to get the first animated appearance of Chekov in this story and i'm loving that Reflector could be a main character in this story.
I do think Powerglide, Cosmos, Skyfire, Sideswipe with rocket pack, Tracks, Devcon and maybe even Swoop would've been better flier choices over Windblade but it is what it is (maybe even a 2nd animated appearance for the other fembots)
only for those they may not know what each acronym meant
G1 - Generation One
TAS - Star Trek The Animated Series
TMP - Star Trek The Motion Picture
TNG - Star Trek The Next Generation
DS9 - Star Trek Deep Space Nine
ENT - Star Trek Enterpirse
