That new head sculptis awesome... So is it true that he won't bein the states at all? I remember a week ago or so someone posted the link and stated it was a japan only release.. :???:

Second, will this see a North American release or will I have to order it online (like I will need to do for the EZ Devastator)??

I'm a total fan of the original figure of sideswipe and swerve is just as good the new head sculpt looks great I cant wait to get this one state side...one repaint that's a must buy!

To be fair, a new head means he is more than just a repaint.

Guys, Swerve will be both an North American and Japanese release this is just images of Takara's version. Don't you guys remember back in early May someone posted a Wal-Mart listing of him plus he was on display at Botcon set to be released 10/01/09.

We here in North America are getting a 'Swerve', but this is Takara's version and from what I can tell, it's just not as glossy as our North American version.

Cool, cool. I don't necesarily mind glossyness. Prefer semi-matte to super hi-gloss, mind you.

Now thats Sideswipe. Come to think of it, add some flames and you have Hot Rod. I may just do that if this sees release here in the US. I hope so, i love the original figure (except the damn feet)and this head sculpt and coloration are awesome.

Yeah 'cause we Americans are all about the shiny stuff,kinda like racoons and the vast majority of rodents.
And say that this thing having a different head technically doesn't make it a repaint is such a load of crap. It's a repaint with a head-swap, all of an extra 3 seconds of effort in the final manufacturing process and the head sculpt was probably rejected from one of the final toys in the 2007 line. The color looks about 1 shade more horrid than what they used for Alternator Prime and glossing it up won't help it any.
Someone can enjoy my figure cause I don't want this and I'm tired of being one of Hasbros "lemmings".

I too believe movie Sideswipe shoulda been red, mind you I dig the overall design of Sideswipe, but I will be picking this guy up b/c my girlfriend LOVES red Corvettes, so it's a win-win situation

But not being released state-side until October?

Geez that's a ways off!!

What's with the aggression? If you're going to take out your hatred for repaints, then RotF Swerve isn't exactly the target I'd pick. Also I'm not American, and yet I find your first statement a bit insulting.

You know what? Looking at his head and having the facts in mind I think Hasbro made this, not with the intend of releasing just another repaint but actually as a little something for us.
Sideswipe isn't red as red is a bitch to film so hasbro made this one with a head that actually looks like a mixture of G1 Sideswipe and a movie design. They even released the official stock photo for Swerve way before that of Sideswipe.
