Ditto, although if they actually made the full armor addons as his trailer it would be cool!

Never notice primes hand go past his knees same with combiner wars combiners very gorilla like prime legs need to be long proportions on his arms are weird,

Original prime colors are better

Surprisingly, this Optimus figure has more paint details than the original Voyager Class Optimus Prime. I'm surprised nobody noticed.

Aaand that sells it to me. I was going to skip this and use his Deluxe partners on the Wave 1 toy (while Cyclonus gets the rejected ones from the first three waves because I got Quickslinger and Brake-Neck and hope for a Deluxe Groove outside the Guardian set), but to use it as a Nova Prime is actually a good idea.

Obvious Nova Prime homage is obvious.

This repaint is better then every single version of red and blue murica Optimus I have always hated the two colors combined.


White is a better color for leader type characters.

I like the White Prime, I was going to get the regular version until I heard rumours about the white version. Now I'm definitely sold on it.

He shall be the torso for the Combiner I call Outcast, which shall contain Offroad, Rook, Alpha Bravo and that Blast-Off that isn't a space shuttle.

Hm, if he's ever on sale, maybe as a stand in Nova. But otherwise, I just don't like the mold enough...

I'm thinking the same thing. I haven't picked up any version of the mold, and I definitely like it, but not well enough to snag at full price. This white version is spectacular for what it is, and IDDW Nova is a pretty cool character.

I'm not sure if that really was the intention. In his first appearance he was the Ultra Prime red and blue. I'm 99% sure that they changed the colors on him in the comics because they got the colors for the toy in after the first appearance was finalized and Hasbro wanted this deco to be with the limbs coming out around the same time.

Ah damn, I confused the pic of the combined head due to grey background and thought the combined head didnt have the side pipes and thus looked more like Star Convoy. Oh well, thanks for the correction!

And even then, the modified Optimus Maximus from Windblade #3 just looked like Wave 1 with a white head. I'd actually be down for just buying that one and painting the head to match.

Battle Core Prime doesn't look to bad. I may consider getting him if I see him in shops. I don't think I want him enough to go online for him.

Pretty cool star convoy, I like it better than the original, it has personality. Especially being decoed in a fasion reminiscent of nova prime.

i dont understand why he has to be all white reminds me more of ultra magnus
to be honest i think i would just stick with the red and blue optimus prime version that
came out in the first wave

I know I shouldn't like this, but i do.

It puts me in mind of a RiD/Unicron Trilogy style "super mode" recolor for some reason.

No idea if those two thing are connected.

Well, he is called Battle Core Optimus Prime. Which means he could be an update to anyone's head cannon on how at the CORE of their G1 Magnus toy was a white Optimus Prime toy covered in BATTLE armour

if you say so, although its not what i would consider an updated armoured optimus prime in my head cannon.
i think more along the lines of masterforce god ginria or star convoy for an updated look or a combination of both

Also, come on, Pipes has NEVER had any kind of update, he needed a new head as well, and I won't even get started on Scattershot, would it have killed them to give him a new combiner head???? As nice as Cyclonus is, he was completely unnecesary and he got a lot of new parts which Scattershot needed way more.

I had been against it from the moment I heard about it. I thought having him in white would just be absolutely stupid. Now that I finally got my hands on the red version and now that I look at these pics, I'm thinking Damn, now I'm going to have to buy the white version too. the head sculpt is a HUGE improvement and the white/gold/gray really go well together.
Thinking I'll do up the white vehicles (Prowl, Wheeljack and maybe a few Protectobots) with the white Prime and add Ironhide, Hound, Mirage and Sunstreaker to the red Prime for my division of combiner teams.

i'm with you. white bots will look better on white prime while colorful bots will look better on red prime.

The White Optimus is OK - I don't think I much appreciate it being Optimus though.

I'll buy it if I trip over it. But wouldn't be likely to pay a premium price for it.... when the limbs come out they will be going on the red version of Optimus no mater what Hasbro says to do with them.

I prefer the white one as a stand alone as it's got a better looking head - so you may as well show it off.

Once they decided to make Blast Off a plane, it stopped mattering what else they did because the geewunners were going to hate it no matter which head it had, and I think they knew that.

Hate not so much, don't like quite a lot. At least if they did it with Firefly it would have a closer head to the original.

Guys slingshots head does look a lot like blastoff's animation head except without a brown face plate.

I mean I was staring at Blastoff's visor and ignored the face and I saw it as Blastoff since the mouth and nose is barley visible in the first place due to black plastic.

I disapproved of Alpha Bravo (yet I bought him anyway, though he will NEVER be a part of Superion), but I am OK with Rook replacing Groove (and I did get the Legends Groove to be the chest piece for Defensor) and I am also OK with Blast Off not being a space shuttle. If he was, it wouldn't make sense.

To be fair, Slingshot's big googly aviators basically look like two separate eyes.
