The Rise of the Beasts toyline isn't done yet. While all mainline toys have been made, distribution is all over the place and just now are Americans finding the big simple Scourge toy from the Titan Changer line at Walmart. While obviously not a toy aimed at collectors, there are Scourge completionists out there and of course this gives parents a big and affordable Scourge toy to buy for their kids. We have some video reviews for you below if you are curious, and where you can check out that very detailed front grill.
This toy is part of the second wave of Titan Changers where he is the only new figure.

He's a TITAN of an actor in everything he does.
Fitting.

I just don't even bother to go to the stores for toy hunts anymore. Hardly ever any sales since 2019. What they have are all kiddie lines. New CHUG/SS are rarely seen unless they're the few shelfwarmers.
The ROTB Beast Alliance line (the ones with the weapons, not the ones wear the bot wears the beast) got some pretty cool figures though. I wouldn't mind getting a few of those if I have more shelf space.

Yes, but that's a comparison to the dismal 2022 year. On the retail floors, ROTB (and BBM) got far less presence than the Bay movies. Those glorious days of TF toys steamrolling over everything else (even Star Wars, DC & Marvel shelves) are long gone. Still if Hasbro's doing well, it's all good for us fans.
With bombs after bombs (some undeserved, some earned), Paramount might go down before TF:1 (hopefully AFTER MI:DR Pt. 2 so Cruise's fans have some closure), which might be a GOOD thing as it forces Hasbro to shop for another studios for the TF IP, and negotiate better terms for creative controls on the bots & story.

I loved BBM & like ROTB enough. But I'm ready to give up on caring for any more live-action TF. Paramount's hesistance on bebooting the franchise and not caring about continuity between movies is making the movies very 'meh.' They're not nothing more than toy commercials now.... and not even GOOD toy commericals because most of the toys doesn't even look close to the on-screen designs (I went with Yolopark).
TF:1 sounds good on paper. And putting TF movies back in animation & on Cybertron is the right thing to do, at the very least to keep costs down and make them profitable for long-term viability.
The crazy things animation can do nowadays, like what we saw in Spiderverse, TMNT, Puss in Boots, etc. is wild.

Well, we do have TF:1 to look forward to. Hope the animation doesn't disappoint. Netflix's WFC or Paramount's Earthspark animation weren't bad for streaming, but for movies, Paramount really, REALLY need to kick it up a notch or two. Need to be a bit more visually imaginative, and the designs can translate well into toys.

There was a lack of ROTB toys in your area? I hear people just complain about Movie toys clogging shelves?

But I've given up of toy hunts since 2019. My local Gamestop & TRU closed. Al the nearest WM, TRU, GS I go to are absolute crap. The regular TF sections are at most like 4 feet wide, that's it. But I did saw the dedicated one or two standee in the ailes for Earthspark & ROTB. Really sad looking compared to the early Bay '07-DOTM days.

There's just some serious miscalculations on both Hasbro and major retailers parts for the past several years. Hasbro came out with some many different lines overstepping each others and the retailers don't know what's popular to order from Hasbro.
Physical toys is a diminishing market for the masses (parents buying them for kids), Hasbro need to think about reducing productions on those gimmick/kids lines, but put the effort into making better figures for collectors.

i've pointed this out a couple of times, it is really baffling that he only had that one toy available. He was the star. I'd say this time around Bee and arcee got a bit too many toys for their appearances. Arcee's beast weaponizer release could have been a Mirage, and either Beast mode Bee or the beast combiner Bee could've been Mirage.
Also, I am STILL looking for battlemaster Airazor, battle changer Scourge, beast weaponizer Arcee, beast combiner Optimus and Scourge, and Autobots unite Bumblebee and Battletrap.
I did get the titan changer Scourge though. Robot mode is gross, but the alt mode is where this guy is actually a fun thing to own.
Also interesting, this release of Scourge uses the Prime Predacon symbols, on his grill and arm, so Sky Lynx and Darksteel can be pseudo-canonically confirmed as Scourge victims!

Nope, she is one of the figures that still hasn't come out anywhere stateside yet.
So I took some photos this weekend of the RotB mainline figures together and with some SS thrown into the mix for some team photos.
Mainline Prime is better than the SS Prime, while SS Bee is far better than the mainline release. Wheeljack seems to fit in to both teams. I really wish they had done a mainline Arcee as well for the fun of it.
I also like that the beasts are different, really allows for you to buy both sets and get a good experience either way. I'll be displaying one of each release in robot and beast mode. i think SS gets the robot modes except for Airazor, her SS bird is much better and more posable, and her mainline robot mode is very nice.
Also, Wheeljack took over Rhinox's guns since they can't really store conveniently in beast mode, and I think it works for him.

william-james88 wrote:Why do you find mainline Prime better than SS?
Main thing is the proportions. Bee movie and RotB Prime both have a very bare and not very proportioned lower torso and thighs, and the mainline does the best in making that look good.
For another thing, the posability feels much more natural and smoothly functioning. the SS one feels odd with the legs and especially the hot rod shoulders, whereas the mainline is smooth, not too harsh but not loose, and he can do a lot of stuff the SS one looks odd doing. The only thing the SS one is better in in this department is the balljoint head and ab crunch.
Also, I like his feet a lot more, and he forms a cleaner truck mode in my opinion.
The mainline transformation is also more fun, and more inventive. It's feels great, moves great, and has the good proportions needed.

Goddamn was it annoying.

Transforming those legs is just a festival of ultra tight tolerances and things getting in the way one way or another. It is NOT fun. The Rhino may be perfect looking but the bot is just "meh". My friend also pointed out that he wear a "high class frizzy cravate" and now I can't unsee it.
The old T-30 was as annoying to transform but looked overall better.
The Studio Series Rhinox may be the best Rhinox ever for the bot mode, where the beast completely disappear. The rhino look a bit like a zombie and things pop off when transforming, but the transformation remain simple enough to not be an issue.
Ironically, the REAL best Rhinox toy is undoubtedly the Mainline voyager. Sure, there's no screen accuracy and the rhino is a bit too "cubic", but the bot does look fantastic with a BW/Movie blend look that works perfectly. Plus the transformation is simple without any annoyances. If you have a Kingdom Beast Wars display and you want the best NON-ANNOYING Rhinox, the Mainline voyager will not look out of place.

Cheetor: I don't see the point of that new mold. There's not much differences between this one and the Kingdom mold. Furthermore, the Kingdom mold is way better for the overall execution. Mainline Cheetor feels like a pale imitation to the Kingdom one. Plus, the beast mode looks like he's wearing trousers like some cartoon character. Still, on its own he's not that bad. And if for some reason you're late in the game for a BW display and have missed out on Kingdom Cheetor, he's a great stand-in.
Nightbird: She look great in both both mode and car mode, plus her transformation is interesting. Especially how the legs work. But mine have a feet wheel that pop off too easily (I'l lucky it was never lost in transit) and her weapon storage in vehicle mode is silly. Still, she's a neat little package and her tiny, tiny vehicle mode is cute and would go well with the Studio Series 2007 Movie Jazz.
Wheeljack: As expected, the controversial Wheeljack steal the show here. He's so great that the purchase of the whole 3 pack is worth it for him alone. The bot is awesome, no obvious hollows, the transformation is simple yet very satisfying, and the vehicle mode is just perfect. My only nitpick is that his vehicle mode is way too small. He would benefit greatly by being a voyager. Also, there's lots of real estate under the vehicle, so a place for the gun to peg under/inside the vehicle could have been done easily yet they didn't do it.

TlDr; This pack is simply Deluxe Wheeljack that come with bonus accessories.

And it's worth it, even at full price.

The new listings include the hard to find Battlemaster Airazor, Battle Changers Scourge, Beast Combiner Optimus Prime with Lionblade, Beast Weaponizers Arcee with Cheetor, and the solo release of deluxe class Mirage. The new listings also include the pretty ubiquitous voyager class Rhinox.
If you are after any of these figures, you can preorder at the Takara link above, or click any of the images below.
Good hunting soldier.

One immediate problem was she does not have her bike front. That is really annoying. But, I kinda don't care too much, she shines in bot mode, and her bike front would just make her more kibbly. I like her as she is.
I also have her my other cheetor, it gives her Prime Arcee like arm blades.
She also looks really good with smash changer Rhinox, who is proving to be one of my favorites from the line. He is very versatile with photos, and his Rhino mode just rules.

Upgrading into that form, even temporarily through some Transwarp Key shenanigans (it's a TF movie, it doesn't have to make sense) for the climax would have been better than Scourge being suddenly weaker despite being closer to Unicron. Surely they must have planned to use that design at some point in the movie, why else would they have made so many figures based on it?

With the extra T.Rhinox, Pablo can DOUBLE COCK-N-BALLS!

Pablo's transformation is a wee bit fiddly, but is very well done and "complete". His only overall flaw is the lack of paint.
Also, the rhinos are surprisingly in scale with Pablo's vehicle.
