Thanks to Preternia on Twitter and the Transformers Facebook page, we have news that the latest wave of the Transformers Beast Wars reissue series has been revealed.
The newest batch of figures consists of 2 figures, and those 2 figures are Cybershark and Wolfang. Cybershark was previously revealed thanks to a walmart listing, while Wolfang has been rumored but is at last confirmed. Wolfang is the original Maximal release of the figure as well.
Both of these figures are set to be released for Preorder this Thursday March 24 at 1:00PM EST, so stay tuned for those preorders, which will be part of Walmart Collector Con.
Check them out, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

It's the 10th Anniversary version with the washed out colors and the tampographed Maximal symbol on his right cheetah shoulder, instead of the original Cheetor deco that the reissue more closely resembles.
yes, it was noticed early on. they even announced the toy using photos from those innacurate toys

Did you think the same about the G1 reissues Walmart got? Cuz those took up just as much shelf space as these currently do.DeathReviews wrote:I know Beast Wars has it's fans - but... these are re-issues. Maybe it would be better if these re-issues were kept as online exclusives at Pulse or something. That way the fans who really like these can order them, while store shelves are used to stock more of the newer, current figures....

I do at the moment - because I'm noticing that a lot of the shelf space that could be used to stock more of the newer lines (many of which are rarely seen in some areas) is full of re-issue figures instead. Many of the WFC line figures were never seen on store shelves by many areas (figures like Mirage, Trailbreaker, the Runamuks), and one can't help looking for cause and effect. While at the same time, those shelves were clotted with re-issue figures that didn't sell well, and wound up in clearance months later. Are stores passing on getting more of the newer figures, so they can stuff the shelves with these re-issues? Maybe not - but... maybe?

To be fair, I've noticed the same shelfwarming with the RED figures. However, due to that vocal part of the fanbase (and contingent within HasTak itself), catering to nostalgia tends to trump moving Transformers forward as a brand/franchise/series.

Oh, delusional eBay...
Why am I even surprised anymore??

But here's the thing. I'm afraid to unbox him because of his damn spring-loaded gimmicks. I fear that I'll lose the claw-bee and the missiles in a matter of seconds.

Did you find Scorppnok in store?

Nope.
I bought it on Walmart.ca
And contrary to Amazon, Walmart have packed my Scorponok CAREFULLY in a BOX with BUBBLE packing.

Based on recent video reviews of the Scorpy reissue, the OG could actually kill.

At worst, you'd have to hunt around for where the Cyberbee went whenever you put the figure down (until the plastic clip inevitably broke). The missiles had a bit more bite to them. But I only put them in once. As I lost one of the missiles upon loading it for the first time.

One thing I like about these is there's differences enough for the originals to not lose one cent of value.

Exclusives get exceptions. Hasbro only made the commitment for mainline toys.

So far the reissues have done me a lot of good, it's really helped me pad out my early Beast Wars collection having needed Rattrap, Tigatron, Cybershark, Wolffang, Terrorsaur, Iguanus, and Tarantulas. I still need to pick up a cartoon colors Scorponok, but I have an original so it isn't quite as important, waiting on a clearance.

Not a reissue of the original gimmick-ruined figure.

It's features included "Be a Ball" and "Give hugs." Always wondered why silly bug hug man wasn't in the show when I was little.
I also remember it being a really flimsy toy that didn't quite lock in place correctly.

Funny you should say it like that, as someone elsewhere recently found a 1985 McDonalds Happy Meal G1 Gears in an antique store.Flashwave wrote:So at this point are they just finding molds in antique stores and going “Hey look what I found! Let’s make this one!”

That's quite the find, that promotion only happened in a few states.

Same. And I just scored a Powerhug in box for under $15 on Mandarake so I'm completely set. Although... I might just get this one just to say I have all versions.
I was 17 when Retrax came out and I've always loved that figure. The unique head sculpt, the clear shell, the paint, the roll up feature that's pure genius, it's just a fun toy even if it isn't a particularly great action figure.

Transquito is amazing but the rotating joint of the bug legs at the arms aged badly. First one shattered and and I repaired it. Now it's the second one who just broke on me.
Unless these bugs legs are not meant to rotate at the arm and I messed up?
