Transformers Combiner Wars Wave 3 Legends and Deluxe Found at U.S Retail

CW Wave Three set of Four Deluxes and Legends Groove, is in transit to me from BBTS. Should get the toys next week.

Was a bit sad that CW Wave Three Cyclonus and Hotspot are not in stock yet.

fair play with the retailers - give them the first go before selling direct - a number of companies, especially electronics producers, selling direct to the public has stuffed up relations with their biggest buyers/sellers in the past

May be slightly off topic... but on HTS they have a Scrapnel/reflector pack.

1) Has this actually been in stores yet?! I've never seen it before... May have to order it if it's already made the rounds in retail...

2) Does he match up with CW (There's a solid connection ) Bombshell?

Yea, Skrapnel/Reflector was at retail something like a year ago. You should definitely pick it up from HTS now while they still have them.

I still need to find my little mini-car for Menasor. Also, it looks like I'm never going to find Gears at retail, so I'm going to have to hunt for a decent deal on ebay...

hasbro really needs to calm down with the waves coming out so fast, i havent seen wave 2 at all & have only seen wave 1 twice. With the price gouging & crap distribution it feels like hasbro doenst want people to buy their products.

Funny thing is here in Europe we're still stuck at wave 1. Releases and distribution are way behind and veeery slow here.

You will remember the teaser shot of the white redeco of Transformers Combiner Wars Optimus Prime - the renamed Optimus Maximus - showing the potential Sunstreaker and Mirage redecos of Dragstrip and Breakdown. Thanks to weibo user Starscream韋, we finally get a sort of look at the full figure's promotional artwork, confirming the rumoured Ironhide from Offroad, and giving a glimpse of Prowl, probably still from Streetwise. Hot rod is a re-paint of blackjack clearly on the chest. His flame hood is clearly there.

Has anyone noticed that Hasbro has been taking more and more ideas from 3rd party vendors? it's great for me because I can't afford $100+ individual toys but it's kind of sad that they are creating almost after they see the market is there. Predaking would be a must for me because he was so friggin awesome in the comics and cartoons, but the way the redecos are coming out it looks like Hasbro is going to create thier own new combiners and use every marketing tool available, I.e. Comics, apps, cartoons, to get us on board to buy. but I don't think the consumer market will be as excited once we get to the end of the combiner wars series if we get familiar names with all re-tools. They could be working on a combiner dinobot or predaking and THAT would get me salivating...

I wouldn't be so sure about Streetwise/Dead End for Prowl. Look at how the front of the white limb is covering the knee instead hanging below it. Is that possible with Dead End?

I thought the same thing. If it were dead end we would have the front of the car flipped back.

Looks to be just the torso-bot's lower thigh with its upper thigh covered by shadow and looking darker. No leg-bot's kibble can cover the knee like that when said knee is bent.

Quick question: has anyone seen the Wave 1 Deluxes with pack-in comic instead of the card? I'm curious to know if they are in the wild yet...

Why not? Unlike his G1 self, CW dragstrip does not have the 6 wheels making his alt mode more in line with Mirage's.

And last time we just got a redeco and it worked out great, now we'll have a different head to differentiate them even more

Yeah, but that mold looks great as Dragstrip because it was already a fantastic mold.

The CW Dragstrip mold... well, I personally am not to fond of it. And as Mirage, it doesn't look good in my mind's eye.

The way it's looking right now, there are no real signs of them getting new vehicle parts at all, just new heads, as they don't really need them. Plus, the design sketches for Ironhide and Ratchet/Prowl showed them using Offroad's and First Aid's vehicle shells, respectively.

Back to the white limb, this image shows a perfect comparison between the two best contenders for Prowl; Dead End and Breakdown:



Who wants to make a wager? Take note that Breakdown still has a potential 2nd vehicle shell.

Ugh these silly pointless autobot repaints. In all honesty ill end up buying them when I see them in walmart out of pure curiousity and bordem. Im wondering if there are any obscure characters that they can pass off as if they got new heads ? Anybody from G2 ? Micromasters maybe ?

Jelz, I forgot those front ends fold down like that. I like mine up for a knee pad effect. Judging by that picture you posted, you're on to something.

IDW is preparing to combine them together since as of this 4 of the members have been confirmed to be on Cybertron and Sunstreaker might be there to considering he is no longer on the lost light.



Plus this is probably a homage to masquerade yes there is only two of the members from that episode but the homage is there.

Great homage when only 2/5 of the same characters are used.

The Streetwise mold is pretty much very much scupted to be Prowl from below the head downward.

Wave 3? i still haven't even seen wave 2 but to be fair, we got the first wave in late march, so...

I'm not really a fan of minibots in the first place... Powerglide just looks out of place with the rest of the jets. However, tradition means I can live with it. But making established leader type characters tiny?? That just doesn't look right at all.

Honestly, they should have had all the limbs be Prime and the 84 autos, maybe with bumblebee as a weapon or something... then release a Rodimus as a combiner body to 'take prime's place'. A combiner with flames on his chest could look pretty cool.

You have it backwards, IDw has the 4some on Cybertron because Hasbro is sellling the repaints, not vice-versa.

And yes, Sunstreaker was there to see Mirage whenhe landed

I'm sorta with X. I might get Ironhide, since I do just t like the Univerziteta rse figs vhicle mode. I *might* get Prowl, but I am happy with HIS Universe and mines paint is still good. Sunstreaker is a no, and I'll skip Mirage specifocally tokeep my Mirage and Dragstrip figs different.

Or instead of Bumblebee, make it Sparkplug, Armada OP's little minicon buddy. He looks sorta Bee-ish anyway.

Looking at the picture I can see two wheels facing outward on an extended piece; like the front of the Dead End mold folded back. Breakdown is already being used for Sunstreaker so it's not that mold either. It's possible that the First Aid mold is being used and the hood kibble was photo shopped out for artistic effect.

Not that likely, but the chances are still present. A rule of thumb is that the closer we get to the end of year's worth of figures, the less new molds we get, to the point a wave is all redecos and retools (Thrilling 30's is an exception to this). It's not that we're scared of new molds, we're just expecting the worst and hoping for the best (something all of us should do IMO)
A new-mold Prowl would provide a firmer basis of Combiner Wars continuing into a 2nd year, with new molds and retools of earlier molds (left unused). Plus, wasn't there a supposed Smokescreen listing earlier?

We did get rook as a new mold butso far only 8 different molds altogether what I think they will do is 1 new mold a combiner

Still not a fan of this and I really don't want this in fiction at all so hopefully idw just ignore it (like hopefully they'll ignore combiner cyclonus). The only bot I want prowl to combine with is devestator. Yes, I like my prowls complicated and potentially antagonistic.

Also any word on if these would be wave 4 deluxe?

Is it wrong that I really want this white OP to be Thunderclash?

I want to see Onslaught repainted into Heatwave so we can have a new Nexus Maximus. They could use Airraid, Firefly, Alpha Bravo and Rook for the individual limbs unless we get a proper tank limb to be used instead of the Rook mould.

Fiddled a bit and aligned the pics.

I took your composite, Madeus, and tried to color balance/pull out some details.

Welcome! Are you new to collecting, or is this just your first time on this forum? Also to share my opinion on the autobot repaints, I think I'll get the limb bots but not white optimus, the combiner wars molds are awesome and I can't wait to see how they look as classic autobots.
