Yep. I'm a big Cheetor fan, got most of the molds so far, but the Universe Cheetor robot mode is bad. The cheetah mode is good, which is the main reason I still have him. I really really wish they make a better Generations Cheetor!
EDIT: Same exact thing with Universe Dinobot. Make a better Generations Dinobot please!

anyone else think its strange how cheetor here is a reimagining, while all other generations BW figures were updated representations?
Posted by Sabrblade on October 31st, 2014 @ 12:28pm CDT
To be fair, Cheetor was a Universe figure while Rhinox, Rattrap, and Waspinator are Generations figures. Similar but still separate lines operating under similar but still different mindsets.shajaki wrote:anyone else think its strange how cheetor here is a reimagining, while all other generations BW figures were updated representations?

Yeah, there's about a 5 year gap between the lines.

ahh. i see your universe/generations rebuttal, and raise you a universe dinobot. hes 99% faithful and released alongside cheetor.TheVenocWarlord wrote:Yeah, there's about a 5 year gap between the lines.Sabrblade wrote:To be fair, Cheetor was a Universe figure while Rhinox, Rattrap, and Waspinator are Generations figures. Plus since he came after Cheetor, he might have been an example of a lesson learned from their making Cheetor.

Well, his hands are not correct, and his body doesn't like to fit together in robot mode. His tail isn't correct either and won't hold together in dino mode. I have him and he's doesn't hold up good at all.

Given the lead time it takes to make these figures, I doubt that this is true. Besides, the transformation for Universe Dinobot appears to be very similar to Transmetal Dinobot.

the bodies on mine fit fine.
his tail emulates the spinning blade thingy.
henkei dinobots colors are spot on.
everyones entitled to their opinions, but henkei dinobot at least pulls off both modes. bot is pretty accurate. raptor looks like a raptor. but i never said we didnt need a new dinobot, in fact ive been begging for a generations dinobot for years.

Overquoting to say that I too, have Universe Dinobot. He overshadow the original Beast Wars by far, both in show accuracy and transformation. Compared to the horrible cheetor, complaining about Universe Dinobot is just nitpicking.
BTW, I'd really want to see a Generations Cheetor. It seem NO Cheetors at all are perfectly good, or are completely bad. If there is one character that desperately need an update, it is him.

Fires_Of_Inferno wrote:I have Transmetal 2 Dinobot, Beast Hunters Ratchet, and had Beast Wars Grimlock. That's enough Dinobot for me I think. Though owning the original would be cool.
I bought the pink original a great while ago off Ebay after seeing the complete BW series. It was nice, but those clear feet on the dino chest was one hell of a bad design choice. Still, he was quite fun.
Some years later, I bought Universe Dinobot from a local collector for cheap and found that for now, he's the defenitive Dinobot. So good!
Just a few months ago, I bought a huge lot of broken and scrap TFs to make customs because that lot contained an unbroken but incomplete G2 Megatron. By digging further in, I found 2 figures that were 100% complete, even with their weapons! Thgey were just dis-assembled. Once I put them back together, I ended up with Transmetal Dinobot (white) and a BW Dinobot repainted in more "realistic" colors (don't remember if he have his mutan mask). I was very pleased. Transmetal Dinobot is a toy with lots of issues, but he look nice and he's fun to fiddle with. That new color scheme for the original Dinobot, without the silly clear parts, improve the toy significantly. So I traded Pinkie away.
Just to get back on topic, did I mention it would be cool to have a VOYAGER Generations Dinobot that would be 100% show accurate in both modes, with modern engeneering and all? We need that, yes.

Just want to add something. Take a look at the original Arcee Kobayashi made. I read somewhere that giving 30th Arcee wheels ruined her, Well this Arcee has a set of wheels too!
Behind her thighs and on her ankles.

Up first? Cloud Roadbuster/Energon Ironhide.
Followed by a comparison of the Hasbro and Takara versions of Tankor!
A nice single shot of Brainstorm in vehicle mode, ready to be piloted by Arcana, and finally, a humorous wrap up to this collection of photos as Rattle/Rattrap takes off with AoE Hound's firearms, so he can go on a hunting spree.

And the mirrored images below, but before you do, check out our galleries of Generations Rattrap and Tankor! Also, while you're there, check out our gallery of Energon Ironhide, the idea for the Cloud figure, and the base mold, Generations Roadbuster.

Yeah, I totally agree on that one.I really wish Hasbro was smart enough to paint toys like Takara Tomy does.Take for example,The Transformers GO! toys are so much better painted than their Beast Hunters counterparts.

This is a much more subtle difference. I was thinking it might be just the logo on the chest... but then I saw all the silver instead of the gray plastic. Takara looks MUCH better. Like many of you, I'm certainly gonna use Takara for my leader and Hasbro for the troops.

I 2nd that notion...although I've save many a figure in my time regardless of blister or box. The box size for this figure is awesome though.

I like Tankor. It's sitting on my desk right now. It has a great bot mode with great articulation, and it's very fun to pose. We're only talking about the packaging because we just saw a picture or it.

Whether that makes fans outside of Japan feel better or worse about the cost of importing this, I couldn't say, since I haven't bought any Japanese figures in a while. Might make an exception for Rattrap, but I'm mostly waiting to see if I can beat other army builders to any future deals on Hasbro Tankor. I'm patient, since it'll be a long time before I get around to painting 'em all mint green and white anyway.
And as much as I too would like collector-friendly packaging, it would also be extremely toy-swapper-friendly packaging, yes? We'd have to take into account whether Japan tends to have different return policies or sharper customer service people before pestering Hasbro to try that as well.

Horrible stickers? As in, you dont like any stickers, or the ones that came with Roadbuster particularily?
Honestly, I found the stickers on par with Reprolabels, with lots of possible details to apply. (I apply them all). I also love the fact that I could apply the instead of the good old .

I think Takara was going for G1 toy accuracy with the thighs. Since Roadbuster was never on the original cartoon, Takara probably figured that toy accuracy would be the next best thing to screen accuracy.

and generally, i dont like any stickers. in no way do i think they are a reasonable replacement for proper paint apps. these recent stickers are either a throwback, or laziness/cheapness. either way im not a fan of it.
