I always just say it's Megatron summoning different versions of himself from across the multiverse to battle all the Primes. Like Rodimus in Rengeration One.

It's Hunter Ratchet from Transformers: Go! repurposed as Green Megatron.ZeroWolf wrote:There was a Megs from the Beast hunters Ratchet mold?
Similarly, Beast Machines Dinobots T-Wrecks (rather than the upcoming Kingdom version) is repurposed as Red Megatron, RiD'01 Bludgeon as Yellow Megatron, Alternity Galvatron as Purple Megatron, etc.

Awesome, interesting that he summons T-Wrecks rather than Megs. Also, that pic reminds me we have yet to Get a Reverse Convoy. They had the TR mold for an easy 3 pack with two Titan Masters, but they chose not to do it.
I doubt the'll make one from Siege Megs since it wold require a Prime helmet.
Was gonna ask who the purple megs with the sword in the top row was, but I see is Alternity Galvs.

I did. Still doesn't answer why its him, and not an actual Megs. Transmetal 2 Megs for example would have been suitable.

The power of repurposing. The point is that, outside of Hunter Ratchet, they are redecos of Megatron toys and some are pretty obscure. And the mangaka is the master of obscurity.

I'm gonna guess the Selects Manga wanted to use a currently available Selects figure. And that Alternity Megatron has been in my BBTS shopping cart for a bit.
Definitnely looking forward to more Shattered Glass reveals, wonder if we'll get another this Friday.

Too mainstream. All of these are ones that, aside from Rebirth Megatron, have never been forms of G1 Megatron in any major media appearances, especially in Japanese G1 (which TM2 Beast Wars Megatron is a part of, and as his own character too significant to be just reused as a form of G1 Megatron).Overcracker wrote:Sabrblade wrote:See one post above yours.Overcracker wrote:Awesome, interesting that he summons T-Wrecks rather than Megs.

Whoops, well that explains why he is much more colorful in the manga than the Selects figure is

Ahh, I see. Just having fun with Megatron Repaints.
Still want a Reverse Convoy though.

The macross color scheme also *really* compliments the mold in robot mode.

4/9 Blurr FFF
18 days later
4/27 Megatron TFT
24 days later
5/21 Starscream FFF
so likely Goldbug will be a TFT reveal possibly June 15 or 22
and a big finish with Jetfire in July, probably another FFF *hopefully* a large one in lieu of SDCC being cancelled with a LOT of reveals for other lines

It actually never occurred to me that Jetfire might be the last figure and serve as the "big deal" reveal, but it makes a lot of sense. He's gonna be the biggest figure in the line, plus he's gonna be the most expensive, so a big reveal at whatever event replaces SDCC would be the best solution for him and probably get the most people buying

Retooling the ends of his rocket to resemble the drill and claw of the Cybertron Menasor mold would be even more wonderful.

What is the plan for this new SG line? Did they ever mention that it will continue with more waves?
And here is another question. Gnaw, Wreck-Gar & Slag have already sold out on Pulse. But none of the Shattered Glass have. Does that mean they're not selling well? Or does it mean they're gonna have a lot more because it's their exclusive? I love this line, except for Blurr & don't want it to fail. I hope it keeps going.

I think if SG continues on after this subline, it'll be through SELECTS only, rather than continuing this subline unfortunately. While this line isn't selling out immediately, very few SELECTS sell out immediately

You wouldn't get the rainbow effect, it's a megs for every colour.

Are you talking about the bludgeon mold? I see a purple con symbol, so I thought it was an Overlord redco from club fiction. Honestly i have no idea what's going on here.

SG Ultra Magnus is the one in the Delta Magnus colors and using the 2010 Lazer Optimus Prime mold

Ooohhhh, I did not know this existed. I have RTS Optimus and TFSS Scourge, and the mold is definitely interesting. I bet this costs an arm and a leg.

Indeed, during the 2010 lines Hasbro really experimented with pretooled alternate heads, most of them original designs not based on any existing character, and allowed Fun Pub to use the otherwise unusued ones. Funnily enough, most were accidentally revealed in the original use's instructions, including Laser Prime here.

he appears to be a redecco of Cliffjumper with a new blue goldbug head with red eyes. Body colours are black and gold, with transparent blue windows on the car body.

Some Shattered Glass guys don't even have a swapped color scheme, like Jazz and Galvatron.
Posted by Sabrblade on May 24th, 2021 @ 7:43am CDT
The very last comic from Fun Pub introduced a whole new multiverse of Shattered Glass worlds never seen before. One of which was a SG version of the G1 cartoon in which Megatron was indeed a recolor of his G1 cartoon look.Gauntlet101010 wrote:I have to say, I'm kinda sad that they aren't finding new molds for these characters to use. I know it was a necessity at the time, but I thought it was kinda cool. SG Goldbug and Megatron have very different looks than their G1 selves.

The new comic from IDW will likewise be another of these worlds separate from the original Fun Pub SG world.
As for the likes of Jazz and Galvatron, we'll just have to wait and see how IDW and Hasbro may handle them, if at all. Though, Hasbro has already changed SG Ratchet's deco, so they could very well alter Jazz's deco to be less like G1 Jazz.

A 1:1 mirror universe has it's merits. I'm just saying I miss the innovation in mold choices.

Well, that's Hasbro's current brand consistency for ya, I'm afraid. Gotta maintain that evergreen iconography for purposes of marketing and recognition.Gauntlet101010 wrote:That alternate SG Megs illustrates what I mean. That could easily be Marvel Comics Megatron. It just doesn't work as well. A different body type may have worked better.

Still, at least they did give us the wings for Megatron instead of just the figure without anything new.
