The photo shows series regular and Autobot hero Bumblebee, in amongst a traditional Michael Bay conflagration. The new issue of Empire features some extraordinary access to the action movie director, detailing some eye-popping insights into the billion-dollar franchise and its new writers-room approach.
The last film in the franchise was, Age Of Extinction, was “kind of an outlier,” Bay explains in the new Empire. “Because of losing Shia and just figuring out where we were gonna go. It was testing the waters a little bit. This gets us back in the groove”.
Bay’s writers, meanwhile, tell us how they quickly realised that pretty much anything they asked for, they’d get. They had written an English castle-dweller called Sir Edmund Burton, who holds secrets of Transformers lore. “We said, ‘He’s an Anthony Hopkins-type character,’” says co-writer Ken Nolan. “And two days later Michael’s like, ‘So, we’ve got Anthony Hopkins.’” Another new character is Cogman, a psychotic robot butler (“He constantly wants to kill people,” says co-writer Art Marcum) who has been excitedly described by Spielberg as “the greatest four-and-a-half-foot character since Yoda”. Co-writer Matt Holloway, a Downton Abbey fan, one day said as an aside, “It would be so funny if Jim Carter voiced this character.” A short while later, Bay announced, “Jim Carter — we got him.” “It’s good to be Bay,” says Nolan. “Everybody says yes.”

Cogman's my new favorite character already.

He wasn't that overly aggressive at the imax footage besides twisting Crosshair's arm and tackling Cade for something he said while he was being rude.
So really so far that statement is not accurate although we just have to wait and see.

That would be nice. Though, I'd only need to hear it once. I doubt it'll happen, but if it did, I'd jump for joy in the theater.

For what though you should explain how approving a design makes him at fault.
I really hope we continue to get more designs like this film and ROTF that are creative for our franchise like wheelbots and smooth armored Knights.
And Dino because his designs is the best one in my opinion in the whole franchise.

Blame him for what? Having the Transformers look the way they do? Having them look like how an alien robot would most likely look in reality? Not being all blocky and angular like in the cartoons?, so one could still blame him.

Firstly, I don't actually have a problem with the movie designs, in fact, my first exposure to the franchise was with the movies. Secondly, I'm only saying that one could blame Bay if they don't like the aesthetic. He's the man in charge, you know. He's the one who approved the designs he himself requested from concept artists.
Also, yeah I DO have proof that he was the one who approved the designs:

"Listen, I just didn't want to make the boxy characters. It's boring and it would look fake. By adding more doo-dads and stuff on the robots, more car parts, you can just make it more real. I was listening to the fans and I know they hated the Optimus paint job with the stripes. Why did I do it? Because I liked the ribs. That caused a lot of grief."

We got four films with Transformers all dying after getting blown to bits or torn apart or otherwise completely mangled into a pile of parts, and yet when it happens to Bumblebee (FIVE MOVIES IN, no less), he can just reassemble himself like it was nothing?
I mean, Bee loses just his legs in the first film and acts like he's in severe pain, moving very slowly as though he's on the verge of death. But now he can have every body part fall apart and be A-OK after a simple self-reassembly by the power of magic all of a sudden.
If we don't get some in-universe explanation (and which better be a darn good one), then that is complete and utter BULL-SQUIRT!

Yeah like in the 86 movie. If only met the Autobots met the junkions before Optimus died.
Seriously, like I said KSI created new transformer tech in the last one and by the end of the movie Joshua became allies with Cade and the Autobots. We've seen in the other trailers them working Bee in the junkyard. It's not that hard to figure it out that Bumblebee has been upgraded.
Certainly better and throwing a fit over 5 seconds in a 2 minute trailer to a over 2 hour long movie.

ok...at first I had the same reaction, but I was reminded of a video recently explaining how Ultra Magnus got put back together by the Junkions in TF:TM, despite the fact that so many other Autobots & Decepticons had just died.
I guess the safe answer is...TF's can get blown apart, as long as their spark is in tact they will live on. But the pulling yourself back together thing... that would have been way better if they did not reveal that in the trailer, kids would have went ballistic on seeing that (even if I think its kind of )

Which is still bonkers in and of itself that a mere human company was able to develop a level of scientific engineering that the very race of super robot aliens they based their tech on never even developed in their own evolution.Randomhero wrote:Seriously, like I said KSI created new transformer tech in the last one
Though, in any sane world, he'd be going to jail for the robot uprising he put the pieces together for, or at least be neck-deep in dealing with all the serious hits his company would be taking after KSI helped give Galvatron the army he needed to wreck Hong Kong.Randomhero wrote:and by the end of the movie Joshua became allies with Cade and the Autobots.
If you have to come up with your own personal rationale for it to make sense (in lieu of the film's presently not yet being released, of course), then doesn't it stand to reason that the presentation given as is doesn't make sense on its own since the explanation is coming from yourself rather than the source trailer we're provided with?Randomhero wrote:We've seen in the other trailers them working Bee in the junkyard. Ah, thank you for enlightening me that one having a different opinion from yourself, and pointing out nonsense with elements of snark and bewilderment, equate to "throwing a fit".Randomhero wrote:Certainly better and throwing a fit over 5 seconds in a 2 minute trailer to a over 2 hour long movie.
