Grab your energon pitchforks and plasma torches faithful listeners! On the latest episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast/Podcast, your host Counterpunch tries to find the silver lining in the disappointment the fandom has encountered over the last few weeks. Throwing gas on the fire is repeat guests Razorclaw and Tigertracks. As always, you can download the Twincast directly from iTunes or here at Seibertron.com's Twincast RSS feed.

Kicking things off, we discuss the launch (and relaunch) of the TFCC Exclusive Over-Run and Shattered Glass Drift figures, as well as the problems the Club managed during the sale.

Image

We discuss the issue with preorders, offer suggestions for the future, and discuss the figures themselves.

Next up, we lament the unexpected end of Transformers Prime: First Edition toys. We analyze the problems with store exclusives, discuss the costs involved, speculate on reasons, and get rather salty about the whole affair, including the shortage of Takara First Edition toys to compound fan desire.

Image

Moving on from First Edition to Robots in Disguise, we give our thoughts on the recently revealed Ratchet and Optimus Maximus, as well as some of the other, upcoming figures.

Image

Image

We then jump to other side of the world, and review the just-released United Rodimus and give our thoughts on his over-the-top paint apps.

Image

We have some Micron talk up next for those collectors with a tiny figure predilection, with the recently announced Arms Micron line.

Image

Finally, we discuss a few pieces of excellent art floating around from the likes of Jim Sorenson and Guido Guidi showing us some new sides to the art we've come to know and love.

Amen to that! I hope I'm collecting when I'm 80. :)

I hate negativity, but I'd love to hear all of your opinions on where Hasbro failed. They seem to be doing that a lot recently. Good job by the way on the podcasts. I enjoy them!

How do I use this RSS feed on my Android? I'm dumb. Also the RSS page just looks like code.

Most browsers should format the RSS page properly. If it's not displaying in a friendly manner or all you see is code, you need an RSS reader. If you're using an Android product, just go to the market place to find an RSS app that you prefer. Once you have the RSS reader, you will be able to view it properly. The RSS feed's url is a fairly easy URL to remember: seibertron.com/podcast/rss. The direct URL to the file download is at http://www.seibertron.com/media/audio/podcasts/seibertron-twincast-037.mp3. Maybe we need to start putting the direct download link in the news stories going forward since some of you seem to be having difficulty with this recently.

I actually rather like the negativity lol. Conflict keeps things interesting, and I think that Hasbro and all parties should be called out on their bullshit.

Bitching is the right of all sentient beings!

Glad to hear about Japanese 1st Edition Bulkhead. I just hit the send button on my BBTS order before listening to the cast today to. He just looks so amazing that this is the first time I am shipping my POL just for ONE figure.

Another excellent 'cast, guys! I especially enjoyed the ending "Why are you still listening" bit with the Figma (Ymir, I would assume) fighting Perceptor. Awesome.

I gotta admit, even though I'm Canadian, I'm still pissed about this Prime First Edition crap. The whole thing, to me, reeks of poor planning all around. I still don't quite understand the rationale behind making two deluxe Cliffjumpers, Bumblebees OR Arcees... it hardly seems cost effective for a company that's all about making money to produce two different molds of the same character, from the same show, in the same size class when engineering the toys and making the molds costs so damn much.

Anyway, I could go into that forever, as I'm sure many of us could, so I'll just depart saying: Awesome job, guys, keep it up, and if you ever find yourselves shorthanded again, hit me up on Skype, (I think CP has my username from when you guys did the call in show) I'd love to fill space and shoot the shit with you guys again. 'Til next time, keep on rocking in the increasingly more expensive world!

I'm glad we haven't faced the firing squad for being in a foul mood this episode...

LOL! Firing squad! I think it was great! To expand on my last post a bit, I'd like to say, negative for being negative, I might not want to hear. But, if it can change something! Well, then every single member should post something, then Hasbro should get multiple copies of everything posted, plus the podcast they want to do of all Hasbro's recent failings. I would just like to know that it will change something. I'm a three tries and your out type, so between Animated, RTS, and now Prime First Editions, well.... They are pushing it! So if I tune in to an all negative podcast it will just get me pissed off again. If it would help even in the very, very least, I say slam the crap out of them like they do us. Three times we have been teased and hyped up with their reveals, and no satisfaction. The proverbial "Blue Ball" technique is getting old fast. The third party stuff keeps looking better and better to me, and Hasbro doesn't even seem to notice that they are turning away their biggest supporters. They keep "Blue Balling" us, and we may just find something else to invest in. None of us like it, yet they continue to do it. I can complain probably as much or more in ways, but I am realistic, it's a business. I can't expect us to change anything, so I tend to ignore it. A podcast of just complaining that brings no change at all, just isn't worth me getting mad all over again. A podcast of negative things about a figure or figures, complain away, it may save me a few dollars. Negative stuff like that isn't negative when it is based on fact. If I listen and don't like what I hear, I don't have to buy the figure. That is changing something, even if it is just me. Besides, I like to hear what the guys think! If they decide to slam Hasbro, let them, Hasbro deserves it, it is a fact, based on facts, so it isn't a negative to me it's a critique! Hasbro failed us, they critiqued the facts. Set back and wait in a hope that one day we see Animated Blackout and others, RTS, like Rumble and Frenzy, and First Edition Prime figures and box sets. I may have my hopes up and my fingers crossed, but I'm not going to hold my breath!!!

re: the crank piece and forming the gun, you can use it as a 'clip' or a second handle if you rotate around the last gun that forms the barrel and attach it to its peg.

So guest appearance tax in Twincast/Podcast Episode #38 is FE Voyager Prime, amirite? =3

It feels like I've been importing microns every month for the past few months. This addiction is a curse...

Another enjoyable podcast. Are the plans for the runabout/runamuck galleries to do with posing them with the lady liberty playset? This would look awesome! A very good point made about Herc too. He by far surpasses anything hasbro has put out in a long time.

Had a good laugh with silly time

2 Questions.

1)I missed out on the collectors club exculsives. Is there any chance it'll be back? or is the secondary market the only way to go now.

2)I listened to the show and they keep talking about how many pieces of a certain item BBTS has or TFsource or the TFCC has left. where does one go to check? I don't see any options to show me.

Thanks in advaice

Probably not, though they did do an extra run of P/CP. If you can secure a "reseller preorder" for under $80 shipped for each, that's probably your best bet.

Most retailers have a flaw in their ecommerce systems where you can enter an extremely large quantity, update the cart, and then see what the system adjusts the quantity down to. This should be their on hand.

1) They're probably gone, but they have gone back and offered another small run in the past. Either way, if it were me, I'd just wait it out, let the hype die down, then hit the secondary market. Last year's Ramjet can be had for practically the same as it woulda cost you with TFCC's inflated shipping right now and that's probably because so many people bought extras with the intent to sell later. I'm sure there were a hefty amount bought for the same reason here.

2) Act as though you're going to buy a ridiculous amount, like 500, and if they only have 247 left, it'll come back and say that many are in stock. If it fills the 500, enter a higher number.

*Guess you should check if a post has been made when you step away for an extended amount of time... Oh well, double the answers.

What were those scratchy noises at the beginning during the intro theme song? The song itself played fine, but there was this background noise that sounded like whispers or something. :???:

I don't mind criticism, so long as it's justifiable and not "bashing for the sake of bashing". The criticism in this episode has all been very reasonable.

Another good one, guys.

Thanks! This has been a very bad time to be a fan, and we know it *could* be better.

That scratching sound is a sound file that is supposed to be Blaster tuning us in (from one of his G1 cartoon appearances), and there is supposed to be at least one other time he appears.

But that's me trying to add a little zing to the intro and outro when I edit it, and I obviously do not have the hang of it, as it plays fine on my end, but not so much on others' end.

Sorry man. Intro and outro is in progress, and I tried to add a little creative flare to it.
