Thanks to JTPrime17, we now have confirmation on who the 2025 Age of the Primes commander and titan class figure will be. The commander will be G1 Silverbolt and the titan will be no other than Star Convoy. We got a teaser for this not long ago, now the orders have opened for Rathalos Prime representing a crossover between Transformers and the Monster Hunter franchise. The figure itself is a heavy retool of Kingdom Airazor, perhaps the most frequently retooled figure in modern history. Alt mode is a pretty good representation of the Rathalos, probably the most iconic monster in the game. The bot mode, on the other hand, well, that's really going to depend on you. It's based on the Rathalos armor from the game with with some blue to let you know it's Optimus Prime, but the proportions are a little off thanks to Airazor's thinner frame.
Pre-orders launch today in Japan, it's unknown if it'll see release from Hasbro. The price is considerably more than most Deluxe figures at 7,150 JPY (about $50 USD) other retailers will be cheaper (under $40 before shipping). Release is expected to be in July 2025.

We have more images of the Transformers One cards. Turns out these are Chinese physical cards, some with holographic effect. While the Primes were the biggest news, since they were not clearly depicted in the film, it is nice to see other chars like Brawn, Sunstreaker and Ironhide. These characters have cogged and non cogged versions. There are a lot more cards than the ones shown below, as we can see from their indicated numbers. Hopefully the rest of the Primes subset will be found and shared.

The past week-end was disappointing for Transformers One at the box office. As many Hollywood pundits have said, it's unfortunate that a film that had such a great reception did so poorly. Especially when this is in the same brand where films that were panned by critics and fans made over a billion dollars.
All this just goes for domestic numbers because the film has yet to open on major markets internationally (like China and the UK). Now that the week-end is done, we know that the international markets it did open in(which includes the Philippines, Vietnam and Mexico) added $14M to the global box office, making Transformers One's total nearing the $40M mark. We will see if the good word of mouth will have an impact on this upcoming week-end's numbers.
Speaking of that word of mouth, it really is something else. The audience score on Rotten Tomatoes (verified reviewers) is 98%. Not only that but we even have Kojima's blessing. For those not in the know, Hideo Kojima is one of the most celebrated game designers of all time. He is behind the Metal Gear Solid franchise and offers his quick reviews on Twitter. For this film, he said it reminded him of X-Men First Class, which is his favorite X-Men film. You can see the tweet here.

A part of Transformers One that a lot of fans have rallied behind is the handling of the 13 Primes and turning them into legendary heroes, along with their new designs. Fans have wanted a better look at them, since the movie rarely gave a clear shot of them, and now we have a great look at Micronus and Quintus. These character models are on cards though its unclear if these cards are physical or digital. We also have a screenshot of the thirteen from the film with their names labelled.
Hopefully we see more of these cards and maybe even get the toys one day.

Looks like Transformers One is going to have an uphill battle at the box office. The film was predicted to make upwards of 30 million dollars this week-end BUT it looks like it will be making 5 million less. Numbers are not final, but as of now the estimates are that it will have made 25 million this week-end and coming in second place to Beetlejuice which made one million more. Of course, as mentioned, these are early estimates and it could change who wins this week-end box office wise, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a much closer race than thought.
And it's too bad since Transformers One is liked by fans, critics and the general movie going public. Its Cinemascore, which is an average of the ranking gave in exit polls that predicts the longevity of a film is an A. That is an amazing score, and the same score given to films like Avengers Endgame and Inside Out 2 (and a ton of other movies that did amazing at the box office). For comparison, Rise of the Beasts and Bumblebee had an A- while The Last Knight had a B+, and The Marvels got a B (just to show the gammet).
This cinemascore means that the conversation on box office is just beginning as other films that opened low with great scores still came out on top, like Bumblebee and Elemental. As for international box office, Transformers One and it's competitor next week, The Wild Robot, have a staggered worldwide release so it won't be obvious how well either film does overall right away. We will keep you covered week to week.
Below is an excerpt from The Hollywood Reporter, which shows how it's still too early to judge Transformers One as a success or flop.
The jury is out on the film’s ultimate fate. The modestly budgeted event pic, co-financed by Habro, cost $75 million to produce before marketing, which minimizes the sting of the weak domestic opening. The hope now is that it can find its footing and enjoy a long run in theaters based on such strong exits and reviews, although the entry of DreamWorks Animation and Universal’s The Wild Robot next weekend could complicated matters, at least on the family front. (Wild Robot commenced its international rollout in eight markets over the weekend, earning $6.9 million, which includes a paltry $4 million from China.)

We now have images of all Blokees model kits from not one but two different waves, the standard Galaxy Version wave and the more premium Classic Class wave. Transformers One is OUT! So now a lot of reviewers are sharing their 2 squirts of energon. We compiled some below from Jerem Jahns, Dan Murrel, Christ Struckman and John Campea. Also for fun, we included IGN's which has some pretty odd takes, like how the lack of humans means we are now unable to get a good sense of scale without realizing that the lack of humans here is a feature and not a flaw. Speaking of takes, Jeremy makes a pretty fun connection that only a fan would get.
But please remember, these reviews are just meant to help the public get an idea of what they are in for with this film, there is no use being upset if one reviewer has a different opinion.

At Cinemacon, we saw an Orion Pax popcorn bucket that seemed transformable. We have since seen the Cinemark popcorn buckets for Transformers One, which you can see below, and those did not include that transforming bucket. And now we know how AMC's Transformers One popcorn bucket looks like and it is not that either. So that Orion Pax transforming popcorn bucket is MIA.
For AMC, it turns out their bucket is unoriginal. It's just a tin with the characters on it. They also have cups with toppers.
For Cinemark, you will see below that they offer a B-127 Popcorn Container with lanyard , an Orion Pax Snack & Drink Vessel, a Cup and Topper Combo Set, Fleece Blanket and Enamel 4-Pin Set.

There are two ways to measure a film's success these days. We have how much it made, which directly correlated to the public's interest in a film. And we have how profitable it is, which helps predict the direction of further movies in a franchise (or the likelihood of similar movies being made). Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 made A LOT more money than the Bumblebee movie (100 Million more) BUT it also cost a lot more. So while public interest in the Mission Impossible franchise may be higher than the Transformers franchise, Paramount made a nicer profit on the Bumblebee film.
I lay all that out so that you understand how significant the lower budget for Transformers One is. Deadline has published that the budget is a very modest $75 Million. That is by far the lowest production budget ever for a Transformers movie distributed by Paramount. And that's before accounting for any inflation.
This means that it will take a lot less tickets sales to render the film profitable. If this low cost does indeed lead to a high profit, this could be the future of the franchise, theatrically speaking. We will keep an eye out on the gross of the film in the weeks to come and keep you in the know.

You can now put the Gi Joe X Transformers film in the development hell category. While it had some momentum with Chris Hemsworth joining the project and a writer attached, the departure of Caple Jr as director has brought the plans back to square one. We know this from a recent interview with Lorenzo di Bonaventura who is spearheading this film's development.
This interview is from Screen rant who he said this to:
Live-action we are going to deliver a G.I. Joe crossover. I hesitate using the word crossover because I think people think different things about what that means. For me, what it means is the Joes are going to be in the Transformers world and be present. I think every movie is sort of a balancing act of "How much do you have this? And in this movie, how funny can we be? How serious? How do you cross that line? How do you hide the villain?" All those sort of balancing things that you're doing. We're still in the early process, in a way, of trying to figure out the balance.
Sounds like they only have the concept of a plan as of now. While this is more of a nothing burger story, what we can gather from this is that the film is nowhere close to being filmed as they don't even have any major plot details hashed out for it yet. So anyone looking forward to this film should be very very patient.

Blokees are cute, easy and affordable licensed model kits of Transformers characters, you can check out the video below if you want more info on what they are. Blokees has revealed on Twitter 3 new kits coming out in their Transformers One wave. They are Ironhide, Hound and a new troop character called Death Tracker which is based on the vehicons from Transformers Prime. We saw them in the trailers and now we know their official name. Slight spoiler, but the reason they are not "Steeve" this time around is because that name is given to someone else in the film (and no, Jack Black does not make a cameo appearance).

It is fun to note that since Blokees models do not transform, using these to release characters that do not have a T Cog in the film, like Ironhide and Prowl works on a thematic level too.
It is very tough to assess if this is the best Transformers film. We have the 86 film which was literally as G1 as it can get, if you want to go by a purist standpoint. We have Bumblebee, which was a very well made film on a smaller scale and we had the 2007 Michael Bay film which did an amazing job at showing the potential of the Transformers franchise on the big screen, focusing on scale and spectacle.
Now we have Transformers One which gives us "EVERTHING" (said in the style of Gary Oldman from Leon The Professional). So does that make it the best film? Maybe the best Transformers film? Well definitely the MOST Transformers film.
If people wanted a whole film that was like the beginning of the Bumblebee movie, this is not far from it. The art style is a bit different, but aside from that your wishes come true. And it's even more brutal and violent than that Bumblebee opening. You know what, I'll say this: Transformers One is as brutal and violent as any Michael Bay film. The big difference here though is that those responsible for the brutality are the villains and not Optimus Prime.
Overall, the second trailer gives you a good idea of what is to be expected in the film, with a progression of D-16 and Orion Pax starting as miners and then ending up "evolving" twice in the film to finally end up as Megatron and Optimus Prime. And that is both a positive and a negative.
Positive-wise, it means the film accomplishes its mission of telling an origin story for not just these characters but for their factions too within just one hour and a half. Negative-wise, it means a lot of story beats are rushed. Optimus goes from a guy who doesn't really respect the rules to the Optimus Prime we know in a few days while Megatron also goes through a significant change in parallel. So take that as you wish. I personally would have wanted more time spent on this, but I also recognize how efficient the story telling is to convey all this in a short movie for all ages.
The conflict at hand was presented in a new way and is probably the best aspect of the movie. The writers found a very clever way for Orion Pax' and D-16's views and outlooks on their world to be completely changed and it's in how they react to these revelations that we see how they go on different paths, which are familiar to any Transformers fans. It's almost maddening how this "kids film" is more mature, lore heavy, and has more depth than any of the live action films.
I mention Orion Pax and D-16 a lot because the movie really does revolve around them. Bumblebee and Elita are more one dimensional but to be faire though, we've never had two compelling character arcs in a Transformers movie ever. And while less main, Bumblebee and Elita are a fine addition to the mix. Believe it or not, Bumblebee's more humoristic personality is explained as a product of his environment and the "Badassitron" line actually has a payoff. Generally, I didn't care for the humour but it didn't take away any enjoyment of the film for me; you could easily move on from what didn't land. I also want to mention Jon Hamm's Sentinel Prime who was an excellent version of the character and the bot that surprised me most. Oh and Steve Buscemi as Starscream worked well, even though he doesn't change his voice much.
In terms of animation, this is peak Transformers. I really loved seeing the characters use their alt modes as part of their fighting styles and specific moves, like converting just some parts to use them offensively and then converting back. As a longtime Transformers fan, this was a beauty to behold.
Speaking more about the plot and characters would dive into spoiler territory so I will end the review here by saying that this is a great Transformers film, probably the best, and I encourage all Transformers fans to give it a watch.
It gets 4 golden Rodimus stickers out of 5. While great overall there were some story beats that were too rushed for me, especially in the third act, and I felt that did take away some enjoyment.

Great news! While Walmart was dropping the ball on their exclusive wave by having returns instantly liquidated, they are finally stocking this wave in full. We now have multiple sightings of cases of these deluxes and voyager Ferak in different states all at once. We also have reviews below for you if you want as much info as possible about these toys.

While Pulse has sold out of several of the new Legacy reveals, there are still preorders available through Amazon, so we posted links to those below. We also have official images of the reveals. While the repacked figures have nothing new to them, the packaging will be different than before. Galaxy Shuttle goes from a closed box to an open box, for instance. These won't have plastic windows, instead that kind of packaging will be returning for the upcoming Age of the Primes line.
